801 Chophouse – Kansas City Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I had a reservation and was seated immediately on arrival. Service was quick upon being seated and throughout the meal but not bothersome. Madison was our waiter and he did an outstanding job. The meal was amazing. Perhaps the best prime rib I've eaten. All the food from appetizer to dessert was exceptional. We will go again!
Had a superb meal there Saturday night. We were in a hurry and they brought everything out in plenty of time. The food was superb, one of the best steaks we've ever had! The 24 oz bone in Delmonico was so tender, it tasted like butter. The lobster corn chowder, asparagus with Hollandaise, baked potato and warm sourdough bread were all superb. Even had enough to bring home for left overs Sunday night. Still delicious! Rarely write a review but our meal and the service deserve it!
We went for a date night and as a bit of a late wedding anniversary celebration. Our server, Cord, was amazing. Highly recommend him. We spent several hours enjoying the restaurant and sampled an incredible variety of food while splitting a great bottle of wine from the Willamette Valley. We had the Oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer, we split the 801 salad which was amazing, we split a Wagyu fillet and a lamb chop and also split a side of lobster mac and cheese. Great spot for a special night. We used a Groupon - you can definitely rack up a huge bill here quickly, but it's worth it for the steak alone.
celebrated a special event. wouldn't normally pay this much for a meal out, but wow, very good food. great service and nothing was over the top or out of my league in terms of selections etc. sometimes these nice restaurants are like outer space. not this place. will def make this an option down the road for other special events.
Had a great time.
Was going to be late called they took care of us and seated us right away. Serve friendly and knowledgeable. Food was on spot hot food hot and cold food cold. Steak was tender and cooked perfectly as ordered. Salad was crisp and tasty. Cocktail was done correctly and tasty.
This place is amazing! We went there for my gf's birthday and they even printed off a menu with "happy birthday (name)" on it and put confetti on the table. But don't let the confetti fool you - this place is anything but cheap. Expect to pay no less than $50-60 per person, so I wouldn't recommend just casual dining here, but for special occasions this place is well worth it. Great atmosphere, local meat, and the best steaks you've ever had with a great cocktail selection. The service was also very high quality. Would recommend.
Service and food are always excellent. However it is a bit noisy for conversation. This time our table was located in the bar area so it was extra noisy and constant traffic in and out of the restaurant. We would have enjoyed the evening more if we had been further away from the bar. People would stand directly behind me by the bar - this was uncomfortable for me.
My husband and I stopped here before heading to a concert. We were celebrating our anniversary and craving a good steak. Our experience at 801 Chophouse was everything we had hoped for. They decorated the table for our anniversary, the waiter was extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was perfect. They did not disappoint!
The food was prepared wonderfully, the wine was perfect. Chuck, our waiter was quite helpful as prompt. The portions are always very large and sharing is encouraged. My wife had a Fillet Mignon that was very tender and my NY Strip was perfect. I will be back!
What an amazing experience! This was a 3-hour tour de force. From the moment we were seated, until the moment we left, we were carried along on a 3-hour adventure of the best food and service we have ever experienced. We chose a bottle of Pinot Noir, and shared a wedge salad. And we enjoyed a bone-in 18 ounce KC Strip steak as well, medium-rare. Easily the best steak I've ever eaten in my life! Along the way, our waiter was there to cater to our every desire. The final bill was expensive, but SO WORTH IT.
