   I am never disappointed with the food at The Chophouse at 801 Grand. This time, the service was excellent. The only thing that was a challenge was the noise level; I struggled to hear my guest speaking.

   Very friendly staff. Since it was our anniversary, they surprised us with a decorated table and menus that said “Happy Anniversary” at the top. They also gave us a complimentary dessert. The food was excellent.

   So I went today for my birthday and overall the experience was great! Sadly the serve accidentally spilled the drink she brought me, all over me which it happens, she gave us a free desert on top of our already free desert for my birthday, which was nice but it would have been nicer to get half off my meal lol I know accidents happen but I got soaked through in my brand new dress and was sticky through my meal, But she was exceptional and kind and knowledgeable. Like I said accidents happen!

    Our server was awesome! He walked us through Sunday Dinner and helped us out a little, since this was my first time at 801. My girlfriend and I had a fantastic anniversary and our server definitely made it a better experience/more special. I very much appreciate the hospitality from all of the employees from our host to the servers. The chefs in the kitchen did a fantastic job with our food. I never had oysters before and I thought it was the best dish for anyone on the fence about trying oysters. The calamari, steaks, mashed tateys, and the dessert were fantastic as well. The drinks were perfectly mixed. Thank yall for a great experience. The only down side to the evening was leaving.

    By far the best restaurant we have been to in Iowa. The food was so delicious, loved how we made a reservation for our anniversary about 10 minutes before arriving and they had the table decorated for us. Wonderful friendly staff and the ambiance was amazing. Will definitely be back for other special occasions.

    We had a wonderful experience at 801 Chophouse in Des Moines! We were celebrating our 22nd Wedding Anniversary and they had sprinkled confetti hearts on our table and had “Happy Anniversary” printed on our menus—special touches! My husband had the 8oz filet and it was grilled to perfection; I had the halibut and it was delicious—melt in your mouth good! They also provided a complimentary dessert of our choice for our celebration so we opted for the chocolate soufflé and it was divine! Highly recommend 801 Chophouse!

    This is the type of place you go for a very special celebration. Absolutely the best of the best. Outstanding, impeccable service, and literally the best wet and dry-aged beef in the Des Moines area. Meat candy. Savor it - enjoy!

    We went there for our anniversary. They had the table decorated for us, like we were regulars. The staff knew it was our anniversary and everyone congratulated us. Food, of course, was top notch. Best restaurant experience we've had in a long time. We won't wait for our next anniversary to go back.

    Our server was attentive and patient. It was our anniversary and they gave us a dessert for free, plus the table was decorated with heart confetti and the menu had a "Happy Anniversary" on it.     Sooo great! Everything from start to finish was perfect! It was my sons birthday & everyone acknowledged that. Our server was awesome! Food was top notch! They always cook a tad on the rare side so just FYI that a medium steak is going to be pretty rare in the very center but perfect everywhere else. I had to get the lobster tail too. Love 801!!
