801 Chophouse at the Paxton Ratings and Reviews
Overall, a good solid steakhouse with a well-appointed dining room and bar. our service was great, food was good, but wine program is over-priced for most decent wines compared to most major metros of US (NYC, SF and CHI excluded). barman was very good (demeanor and ability). would return for another meal.
Service was top notch. Attention to detail was top notch. Portion sizes were very good. But lets face it, you are coming here for the steaks. My ribeye was best ribeye that I ever had. Done to perfection and awesome flavor. Will definitely be back. Great experience.
Our dinners here are always amazing! Colleen is a wonderful, knowledgeable server and remembers even our smallest requests each time we come in. The food is amazing specifically the filets and prime rib. I can't speak a lot to the appetizers as I have a shellfish allergy, however the ahi tuna is amazing. We definitely utilize the Groupon every year and choose this restaurant for all special occasions to boot. If you haven't tried it go, you will not be disappointed.
The food was amazing! Excellent steaks, superior service. We were there celebrating our Son's birthday -- they went above and beyond -- menus with his name on them, complimentary dessert for him -- just top-notch service in every way. We would definitely return. The restaurant is beautiful -- food's a little pricey but worth it. If you're thinking about one of the dessert souffles, go for it -- awesome!!
This is the second time we have been to the Chophouse . The service was friendly and the waiter was very attentive. He was left a very nice tip. It wasn’t his fault the food wasn’t what I expected.
The appetizer was good, as was the salad. We ordered a steak, it was awful!! It came to the table very uncooked and cold. For the price of $110 I expected more.
We had drinks from the bar that were very good.
We were offered a round of drinks and dessert the next time we come in. To be honest I’m sure that we will ever go back. They did adjust our bill.
I only get to be in Omaha one time a year, but tre 801 is a must visit. The ambience is wonderful and the service is great. No one hovers, but they are always there when you need them. Oh, I need to mention the food is great. Try the lobster call Ron dogs and the calamari as appetizers
The environment is super noisy (Friday Evening @ 7), the prices were high for the portions/taste of the steak.
Just didn’t feel it was worth the money spent.
The waiter asked if we wanted more bread and we said yes but then he took away our bread plates and butter knives. Only to come back with more bread and butter, but still no plates. Guess we’ll use the steak knives then.
Just felt the whole place is very overrated.
Everything was amazing except the shrimp once again. This has been an ongoing problem we have noticed at the 801. They have a real strong taste and are alway tough. We had to leave them on the plate because they were inedible. Since this has happened 3 times know we plan to never order anything with shrimp.
My husband and I went to 801 Chophouse Omaha for our first wedding anniversary last night and it was amazing! We had let them know it was our anni. when we booked the reservation, so when we got there they had a hand-written card for us, a special Happy Anniversary menu with hearts, and they wrote a special something on our dessert and gave us complimentary Port wine sippers to go with our cake. From start to finish this was the most special and romantic meal I've ever had...plus the food was amazing! We have already decided this will be our go-to place for every anniversary.
The staff was exceptional and the food was outstanding. All of our steaks were perfectly cooked to the appropriate temperature. We ordered 4 appetizers and 5 sides, every dish was delicious. The Chocolate Soufflé was great but a “must try” is the Carrot Cake, best I’ve ever had.
We’ll definitely be back.
After reading a poor review, I was reluctant to continue my reservation. This was a business dinner and I wanted to impress them. I heard many good reviews too so I took the risk. I was NOT disappointed. The service was spot on and the timing of each dish was perfect. I highly recommend the crab cakes. We all had different cuts of beef which were perfectly cooked to our request. It is pricey but the experience and the cuisine are impeccable. I will recommend this restaurant to friends and colleagues.
