Understandably experienced servers are hard to come by during these times. Having said that our server really didn’t have a clue about any of the dishes and really seemed not to care to inform himself.
Sad because the food was exceptional!
Perhaps the owners could make a point of extra training that would compliment the talents of the chef and other staff.

Lovely.. food presentation… delicious.. however for the price of the pork loin entree 2 tiny nugget pieces that fit on a tablespoon it left my boyfriend starving after his birthday dinner.. I actually had to drive him to friendlies so he could get a burger, fries n a ice-cream… need to up the game.. 4 pieces consider..

This is a fine dining restaurant without being pretentious. Seafood offerings are always outstanding. They have a fabulous wine list with great values and opportunities to splurge.

Never dining here before we expected larger portions. Having a first course, main dish and dessert we were stuffed so it ended up being fine. Drinks were awesome.

Food was fair, service average, portions small, nothing special.

80 Thoreau is our favorite restaurant for a relaxing dinner out, for a special occasion and for a get together with friends. They have interesting cocktails, great service and the food is outstanding. It is our go to place!

Excellent food and service. Will definitely go back. They managed to keep those of us seated on the porch warm enough with heat lamps despite the dropping temperatures outside. Will be curious to try the inside in the future.

From the outside it looks disappointing until you enter the restaurant. The decor was excellent with very sophisticated artwork adorning the walls. Food and service was excellent even though the menu was limited.

We celebrated our 59th Anniversary at 80 Thoreau. It was the perfect place to do that. They were very nice to us!

The food was not particularly interesting, my friend and I shared the pate… both of us had the sea bass as an entree…. Neither was memorable. Service was great!!

Uncomplicated good, prepared beautifully and delicious. Service terrific. Ambience and noise rating because of outside eating due to covid adjustments, not the restaurant; which inside is attractive.

We had a good time. The servers were attentive, but in general things took a bit longer to appear than one might have expected. My wife very much liked the pate appetizer. I didn't care for the dressing on my salad, but otherwise it was good, if a bit small. Two of us had the hamburgers and two of had the gnocci. They were all good. I think my hamburger was a little undercooked for medium, but that's a judgment call. It came with fries that were good, but oversalted.

We decided to have dessert. We only had two kinds, the chocolate cream lumps and the blueberry parfait. Both were good, but the chocolate is quite a small dessert. The parfait is a good bit larger.

So, all in all, a good experience. Possibly a bit more expensive than it should be, but not wildly so. I probably wouldn't go there of my own volition, but it was my daughter's choice and she very much enjoyed it.

Amazing food presentation in the plate, really. Cooking was really good as well.
So frustrating do not find the same in the taste. Every dishes we ordered lacked seasoning. So nothing really happens in the mouth.

Delicious food and service, delightful complimentary Cava and illuminated dessert for our 55 th anniversary, Limited menu felt somewhat restrictive, but it was a lovely evening otherwise.

Another wonderful dinner w friends at 80 Thoreau. I just had appetizers…Melon Gazpacho w Jonah crab, Foie Gras Mousse and Bluefin Tuna Carpaccio. All delicious and beautifully prepared. My friends enjoyed the Free Range Chicken, Parisian Gnocchi (so good w mushroom ragout and sweet corn) and the Grilled Veal Sirloin. Paired w a smooth bottle of Barbera and great service, it was a most enjoyable evening.

The main menu for both entrees and appetizers needs to be expanded

My daughter and I enjoyed our meal at 80 Thoreau. The melon gazpacho with Jonah crab was delicious. My daughter was pleased with the chicken breast, but I found that the veal strip sirloin was tough and a bit dry. The side dishes were delicious and we shared a decadent lovely chocolate dessert.

Menu was a bit limited. We have dined there before and the offerings were more interesting and a better match for our preferences
