80 Thoreau Burger & Fries
Brioche, cheddar, house pickles, Thoreau Sauce
Ras el Hanout, grilled apricots, garlic scapes, couscous
Salad of Baby Lettuces
Peas & tendrils, radish, lemon vinaigrette
Menu has a limited selection of items but each item we ordered was out-of-this-world unique, prercicely as described, and incredibly good.
The three of us enjoyed the halibut. It was excellent!
We seat outside which faced the street and not very exciting compared to what was going on inside. Indoor restaurant is really neat ! Highly recommend eating indoors vs outdoors
Perfect meal, everyone was attentive and the food was delicious.
The food is usually delicious (or it was the two times I’ve tried it) but sad to say I find this restaurant overpriced for what you get esp. if you order appetizers. The menu choice is also quite limited. Not sure I’ll return for anything other than their hamburger just to see if for their slightly higher price it’s any better than my (unnamed) fave restaurant in Acton that serves a mean burger for $16. That’s their least expensive dish. There are not enough restaurants in Concord Center!! Ambience is nice and service good although the first time we went we kind of felt encouraged to pad our bill, already high enough, with extra items. Anyway I spent 130 for two, choosing as my entree a vegetarian dish, and no dessert, although my friend got dessert, with a 20% tip which I normally always leave during covid, and wasn’t overly impressed with the meal laying out that kind of dough.
The food was superb. Everything was very fresh and a lot was made in house. We started with a “garden snake” cocktail made with their own cucumber vodka and finished with roasted plum ice cream. Amazing! Lovely waitstaff, we had a great evening.
Very good food and ambiance. Extremely helpful staff who does their best to make you feel comfortable. Keep up the good work!
I hadn’t been to 80 Thoreau since the pandemic started but had remembered it very fondly as a place with delicious food and a lovely ambience. Hence my choice for my husband’s birthday. We had a fairly late reservation for what was billed as “patio” seating - unfortunately the patio is just a parking lot with a barrier. I am sympathetic to restaurants trying to make an outdoor space where none previously existed, but the space could definitely have benefited from some plantings, candles, anything to spruce up the parking lot feel. Mosquitos were ever present with no citronella candles although we were offered bug spray. The food was decent but the menu was very limited - the best thing on the menu was the melon soup with crab (very special) and the burger. The beets in the beet salad were undercooked and crunchy. The lettuce salad was not exceptional. Overall I was quite disappointed with the experience and it did not have the celebratory feel I was going for. I will give it another shot but probably only indoors.
Excellent food, service and drinks. Sorry we did not find sooner in our short stay in Massachusetts
Food and service was fantastic will be back and recommend to friends
The food was excellent as was the dessert-the wait staff was very attentive -
All in all wonderful experience
The menu is quite limited—only five appetizers and five entrees—but the food was excellent. It is pricy, though. Well over $200 for two people with a $70 bottle of wine.
Our special occasion dinners at 80 Thoreau have always been excellent in all respects. Creatively prepared dishes of traditional ingredients combined with innovative seasoning, culinary technique and attentive and knowledgeable service provide a welcoming and relaxing fine dining experience. I would highly recommend the free-range chicken with polenta. This dish tops even my southern grandmother's Sunday dinner best.
Five people celebrating two birthdays. Fabulous food served efficiently with class and a smile. Ordered all four desserts on the menu which came with candles. Such a wonderful evening
Foie Gras Mousse and Parisienne Gnocchi w mushrooms and truffles! Couldn’t resist especially paired w a fine Italian red chosen by Ian.
Fabulous meal as alway. Ate in the out door space which was pleasent
Beautiful night, and love the outdoor seating. Socially distanced and covered, it's the perfect location and excellent food!
Excellent all around! We were a party of four, and we all had different dishes and each of us loved our selection. The service was excellent, we were towards the back and we were able to talk easily.
We had an amazing dinner at Thoreau. Exceptional food and service. They have us each a drink of champagne to celebrate our anniversary, and while I don't drink, they created a delicious mocktail just for me! Loved celebrating at Thoreau and we will be back!
Food to fit the season and the taste. Portions are perfect so that you can feel free to sample delicious options from appetizer to dessert. We enjoyed all of our selections and look forward to returning. Only issue was a slow kitchen with an early reservation.
80 Thoreau never disappoints! I had a lovely baby artichoke appetizer and veal loin entree, both of which I’ve not had previously and they were phenomenal. So happy to be back dining and to see Ian and his great team.
Beautiful place. Rustic elegance. Sat at bar. Bartenders and staff were welcoming and hard working. Food was delicious. I had monkfish. Outstanding meal. Worth a visit.
Attentive wait staff, good food (bit salty), quiet street dining.
Super-accommodating staffers gracefully helped us assemble a rather disjointed plan and group into a lovely time! I had the chicken and it was delightful
We booked a table to celebrate a friend's birthday. When we arrived, there was a rather lively bunch at the bar which had increased the noise level. The staff very kindly relocated us at a quiet table to the rear and we had the most lovely evening. My friend has a wheat intolerance, and they were happy to adapt her selected choice to accommodate her. The food was excellent, as usual! Thank you to our lovely waitress and waiter for making it a memorable occasion.
À friendly vibe and ever changing menu. Never disappoints!
Great place to dine. Love the food and the service.
Wonderful, understated restaurant. Fantastic cocktails, great wine menu with expert recommendations from the staff, food was one of the best meals we’ve had in a while. We will definitely be back.
Dishes were well conceived and food was well prepared, though (unnecessarily) on the salty side. The biggest disappointment was that we asked to be seated at a quiet table, and we were instead seated right next to the kitchen, which at times was quite noisy. Wine choices were very good.
Kind and professional staff, exquisite food.
Spectacular meal! Beet salad and Parisian Gnocchi were both outstanding, as were the deserts. After the long COVID work around, it is wonderful to see this great restaurant in Concord coming back so strong. Can't wait to go back!
This is definitely a star performer. It was the best restaurant experience I have had in a long time.
Everything about this place is great. I have been here a hundred times and it never disappoints. The butter they bring with the bread is amazing and salty. The cocktails are delicious. I usually get the burger, but last night went with the gnocci with mushrooms and shaved truffles. I honestly couldn't believe how good it was. The gnocci was so light and the sauce was rich and buttery. I loved it. Even the dessert, which sounded odd, some plum ice cream thing, was so good. It was the perfect way to celebrate my daughter's birthday, we had a blast.
Both of our meals were fantastic. The desserts were outstanding. The only slight issue is that it can be very loud.
We love it here! Always consistent and wonderful! Great service and nice menu! Top it off with a cocktail and it was all delicious!
My husband and I had the carrot soup and salad. Wonderful soup-smooth and creamy ! I had the hake and my husband had the swordfish. We will be back again!
Always amazing. Flavor artists! Always try the soup.
Hamburg was very disappointing. Overcooked, too thin, no tomato or lettuce or mushrooms or bacon. The
Hake was delicious but the size of an appetizer.
Way too small. Service was ok but still had to ask for water.
As always, the food was beautifully presented and very tasty. Unlike many fine restaurants, they are restrained in their use of salt.
Loved the Squash Blossoms; cocktails are always creative and delicious and I dream about those burgers! Hake was excellent.
Very disappointing. Made clear I was allergic to gluten and dairy and still got served couscous.
