I can highly recommend the grilled salmon. Beautifully presented and very tasty.
We loved this restaurant, tucked away on a quiet street. Eddie was our fantastic waiter and was patient in describing meal sizes. Drinks were amazing. They had a ton of lobster dishes on the special menu that we decided to try including the bisque, ravioli and risotto. The food was good but the atmosphere was even better.
They aren’t on the main drag of Charles Street, so you might sleep on them as an option. Don’t let that happen. This place is high quality service and ambiance. The food is simple but good, and the portions are generous. I think this is the secret spot to enjoy on Beacon Hill.
Overalll----excellent experience----food and service could not have been better.
Awful food, cafeteria quality. Crab cakes were cold and salad soaked in dressing. It was pretty bad all around. Super disappointed. Would never go back!
This is a diner parading as elevated American food. Mostly tourists. If you’re a local - grab a seat at the bar. It’s the best you can do.
So sad to say that our meals were terrible. The server tried, but it was just bad. 2 of the 3 of us had the wine dinner and after we ordered we were told the dinner we ordered was not available. We were told we were limited to the wine dinner options. Delivered dinners to us that were no where near what we ordered and the food was over cooked, and not fresh . Disappointed as this restaurant was good years back. One of the worse meals I’ve had out in years. So bummed as I really like the vibe here. Hoping it was just a really off night.
thank you for taking the time to let us know, we will work to improve our guest experience with your comments
This was our second visit to 75. We were looking forward to sharing this little gem with our family. Unfortunately, we ran into an issue where there was a group of 12 that commandeered the entire restaurant, and took our servers attention. The group was VERY loud, and conversed as an entire group.
Our server was very busy, and we did not get the full attention to our group of 6. It is too bad, and we LOVE this spot.
Great food & fantastic service.
It was terrific. We will teturn
Nice outdoor seating. Relaxing neighborhood atmosphere.
All was great but the waitress we had was just business with no pleasantries at all.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know, we will work to improve our guest experience with your comments
This is literally the best American fare in Boston. I hope it never closes
The service and ambience were excellent. The food less so. The charcuterie board was great. The spinach salad was blasé. The sea bass and lobster tail turned out to be 2 lobster claws, and all were dry. The molten chocolate cake was not molten and the the interior base was burned. To top it off, the Open Table Dining Rewards card number didn’t work.
The most fun and delicious bloody mary I've had in a long time!
come back any time glad you had a great time.
Our server, Genesis, was incredible! She has lots of tables, but our service was perfect.
Great choice! Tucked away on a side street in Beacon Hill, this restaurant is truly a neighborhood gem.
Crowded. Our table was inches from the next. The seafood stew had mostly closed mussels that were unedible plus the white fish was gray. When I pointed out the mussels were not open, the waitress did not make any attempt to remedy. Bread was unremarkable.
Was nice opportunity to be able to sit outdoors. There was even a bit of rain at one point but there were umbrellas and the service was very good.
As usual our experience at 75 Chestnut was wonderful. Food is always good no matter what the choice. Staff is very attentive and a knowledgeable about food and beverages.
We loved our visit to 75 Chestnut! The food was delicious with a lot of flavor!
We celebrated my mom's birthday 🎉 on the fourth of July. The food was fantastic and the service was incredible. The staff were attentive and friendly.
Family visiting from out of town.
Food was so so. Not very fresh. Greasy.
Potato side dish had clearly been made far in advance and just sitting around.
Asked for an egg white omelette and it came with regular eggs. It had to be redone. By the time it was redone everyone else was done eating.
When we needed to leave the waiter disappeared and we waited about 15 minutes to pay.
Sunday brunch: omelet, steak and eggs; Great food and friendly staffs.
Very nicely prepared food in a quintessential Beacon Hill setting. Our waiter was less attentive than we would have preferred, but responsive when we caught his attention.
We chose this place after a long wonderful afternoon touring the Boston science museum. Our server took very good care of us as we celebrated our 30th anniversary. She was prompt, friendly, and helped us decide on drinks. She went over and above bringing a wine to taste to see if it would go with my halibut and dividing our 2 different salads so we could share each of them. I had the halibut special which was good but stopped shy of great. Broccolini was tough and not flavored. The halibut was well cooked but not spiced at all besides balsamic vinegar. The risotto was tender, but again lacked flavor. Salt helped these dishes some and I asked for lemon and that helped more. Wife had the lamb which was nicely prepared done and well flavored. Server surprised us with a molten lava cake and ice cream. It was good but not lava-like unless you count the melted candle wax. Maybe they microwaved it with the candle in it? Not sure but it was still good and very thoughtful. We would definitely go back as the ambiance and overall experience was very nice.
GREAT PKACE . . . I have been going there for MANY years . . .
It's becoming a bit of a tradition that everytime my husband and I come to Boston that we eat at 75 Chestnut. It is always so cozy. Love the energy and the food is even better.
Very good meal and friendly servers. Lobster avocado toast is wonderful
We sat outside and enjoyed breakfast here. Our waiter was perfectly attentive and the food was delicious. Felt like a neighborhood staple.
One of our favorite spots in Boston. Love the atmosphere and food.
Have been there twice. First time was much better. This time the food was rather tasteless.
Wonderful evening - whole tram were so helpful- food so comforting after thunder storm - lovely vibe - we possibly overstayed our time & were very kindly reminded that people were waiting - very well handled- we will be back - Thanks
Food was delicious. Service was OUTSTANDING. Lovely spot.
The four of us went to the Sunday brunch, and each of us loved what we ordered. I got the lobster toast (on sour dough bread with poached eggs, avocado and breakfast potatoes), and it was amazing! The place was busy, but at a quite acceptable level, and it was actually very nice to see. The entire staff was very friendly and attentive without being smothering or rushing in the least. They had a perfect sense of timing for everything! We couldn’t have had a nicer time in this hidden neighborhood gem.
Father’s Day brunch. Highly recommend reservations. Outdoor seating is available with umbrellas for shade. We dined indoors as the day time temperature was above 85F.
A menu mixed with both vegetarian and carnivorous entrees. We are generally a family that tends to eat breakfast before noon however the lunch options were enticing despite this preference.
The calamari is lightly breaded and perfectly fried. The classic 75 is well, a “classic” Omelette. Both waffle and stuffed French Toast entrees are over the top good if you like sweets. The chicken sausage & potato ‘hash’ was not a traditional corned beef hash style but was a delicious mix of flavors of sliced chicken sausage and grilled potatoes over a bed of fresh spinach topped with three perfectly cooked sunny side eggs. Only minor adjustment I would have made was to grill the potatoes until crispy before mixing with the sausage. Finally, we are coffee drinkers and 75 Chestnut servers a strong and flavorful brew, both decaf and regular.
Derek was our server who was attentive but not annoying. He was there when we needed him and took good care of us.
had fun. crab cakes were the best I have ever had. also got the cookie for dessert and it was very good as well. i recommend this place
3 couples out for first post Covid dining out . Everything was awesome ( atmosphere , food and waitress was charming ) .
Everything was great!
The server was very friendly & not intrusive, the meal was prepared perfectly!
