Warm atmosphere, great service.
A good neighborhood restaurant. Nice vibe inside. the food was bland and not very creative, but edible.
A great restaurant. Food, Service and General Space was good.
Cozy atmosphere and great food! Service was fast and courteous. We'll be back!
Not what it used to be. That’s for sure
The service here can't be beat! Our hostess was so lovely, and the waiters and "food runners" were fantastic! I will be coming back again and again!
Always a treat to go there!
Would have been perfect if they weren't out of bread pudding to which I had been looking forward.
Enjoyed food, drinks, and good service, although prices have risen since we were there awhile ago.
We never received our appetizer, one meal was completely wrong, sent it back to fix and never ever got it. Waitress didn’t care, she just abandoned us. I would NEVER go back there. Worst experience ever!!
Seems to have gone downhill in recent months.
A cozy gem on the flat of Beacon Hill. A charming place for a delicious meal with friends or a romantic evening. Menu options range from casual bites to elegant entrees. Nice wine selection and full bar.
I went there the night of my proposal and it was Perfect!
We met friends for an early dinner before the big snow storm and artic blast and we were well taken care of by the staff and had a great window seat. Food was very good... two of us had fish and chips which were generous in portion and very tasty. two others had salads with protein on top which were nicely done. Overall, very good and we enjoyed our nice relaxed time in this great neighborhood spot.
Hadn’t been to 75 Chestnut in 8 years. Really enjoyed it. Great ambience and you could actually hear your table partner’s conversation. So rare in today’s newer restaurants. Warm, friendly service. Food was good, not great. But overall, a gem on the Flat of the Hill.
Nice quiet neighborhood place.
Wish I lived nearby. We would go more often.
Been here many times and am never disappointed. Fills up quickly and fortunately they take reservations.
We had a small child with us and the staff were extremely accommodating. Lovely evening, thank you.
Would have given this five stars on everything but the our table was near the door and it was a frigid night. Every time the door opened we got a blast of cold air. In other seasons it is probably not an issue. Also the parking is a problem. We were lucky and found a spot on Chestnet that didn't seem to be resident parking and as it was Sunday night there were no meter maids. Charles Street parking is almost impossible so the only other choice seems to be the garage at park. Difficult but not impossible.
The food was phenomenal. One of the best o
Dinner for four. Attentive but not intrusive staff. Cozy feel. Nice variety on the menu. We all enjoyed our dinners. Food was hot, high quality, and well presented. Not cheap but in line with the location. Highly recommend a reservation. Will definitely visit again!
The food and service were wonderful. Highly recommend this restaurant
75 Chestnut is rapidly becoming my ‘go to’ spot. The service is friendly and professional, the menu is just enough without overwhelming, and the food is yummy. Highly recommend!
Requested a table near window. Was given a table in middle of floor. Told could sit st empty table by window but would have to be finished in an hour
We Had an excellent eating experience here. We were in a nice cozy booth for a party of six and will come back again!
I read great reviews about this restaurant and chose it for dinner with a friend over another renowned restaurant in the area. Everything started fine until the appetizer came (the steamed mussels). The mussels were quite underdone, some even still dripping raw, so we wanted to send them back for more extended cooking but it took some time to gain the server's attention. The mussels were recooked and returned to us and were fine, but not outstanding. I ordered the tenderloin au poivre, but I would be hard pressed to find any peppercorns by sight or flavor. Otherwise, it was cooked to order (medium) though it had a strange "tangy" flavor making me question whether that was the sauce or (hopefully not) the meat. My friend ordered the chicken and had no complaints. I had the chocolate brownie and my friend had the crème brulee sampler and both were fine...again, nothing remarkable. Upon finishing our meals, the entire floor was absent servers or bussers for a full 20 minutes. I nearly approached the bartender (the only restaurant employee on the floor for that time) for our check but finally the server appeared with it. For the price, the inattention to details with both the food and the service seem inexcusable to me. Was it just an off night? I don't know, but I am disinclined to go back to find out.
This was my first visit but most certainly not my last! The ambiance was warm, cozy, and welcoming. Everything from the cheese and crackers, to the mussels, to our main dishes and dessert were delicious. Can’t wait to go back to try something different!!
Love the coziness and location of 75. It was our first Brunch at this location and went in with a group of 6. Waiter was very attentive and responsive. We started with the waffle as a group appetizer, delicious. We were disappointed with the breakfast potatoes, over seasoned - something I think should be pretty easy to discuss and fix. Portion size for all meals was big, yet we felt 75 came up short in the food quality - the options were excellent.
NYE & Birthday combo. Very good experience.
Was surprised by the lackluster service and the quality of the entree. Have been big fans of restaurant for years and this was the first time we were disappointed.
Hope it is not a reflection of a deterioration of management or process.
Would have give Food 5 stars except for dessert which as apple strudel that wasn’t edible. Accompanying cinnamon ice cream was delicious though and restaurant was very gracious about feedback on strudel. I will definitely be back again and again! Staff was lovely and very nice ambience and reasonable prices.
Our service for our Early New Years party of 6 was outstanding! She was patient and attentive though let us have fun while changing our minds...
75 Chestnut has been a favorite for many years. Delicious food, interesting menu. Each of the six in our party enjoyed his/her meal.
The service and food were both fantastic. Highly recommended spot a little off the beaten path in Beacon Hill.
Always have a good experience here. They do a great job with fish. Our server, Lindsay, was excellent, and the 75 Club is so worth it.
As promised, this was an unpretentious neighborhood spot. Just what we wanted.
Awesome as usual. Love this place.
Love 75 Chestnut after an afternoon movie. We make this pilgrimage with friends every year after XMAS. It’s a pub, but it’s a restaurant. Really love it.
What can I say - for starters - Amy was awesome, accommodating us last night on a table top - our waiter Jeff served great drinks, dinner was superb and everyone enjoyed their dinner at 75 Chestnut an institution in Boston
A bit outdated but a charming old fashioned neighborhood pub/restaurant. The best part is the location in the lovely Beacon Hill area surrounded by stately homes and the free cheese and crackers. Food uninspiring overall. Bartenders experienced and friendly.
