Outstanding. The food is excellent and changes with the seasons. Staff is friendly and efficient. We love eating at Millstone at 74 Main.
New Year’s Eve
My wife and I both had the short ribs with beef tenderloin. The short Ribs were delicious and tender. The tenderloin was not as hot as the short ribs and little too tough for tenderloin. But the flavor was amazing.
My husband has a very restricted diet and they were able to accommodate his needs wonderfully!
This review is based on Upper Valley standards. Food was quite good compared to other restaurants in the area and is definitely one of the best restaurants between New London and Hanover. Service was attentive and noise level was acceptable, since we were sitting in an end booth. That being said, the booth was cramped for 4 people. We will request different seating next time.
Great service, cocktails excellent, enjoyed the booth we sat at. The food was good. All positive!
Great menu choices. Service was great. A bit pricey but overall worth it.
74 Main at Millstone is a wonderful place to dine. Food is always superb and they are open every day, except for Christmas. Can't beat that.
Food was lousy. Pate was meat loaf. Coffee was cold. Service was slow.
Pleasant atmosphere, wonderful service, easy parking.
Terrific place: great food, friendly and swift service, fair prices, and the Millstone has a pleasantly quiet atmosphere.
Danielle, our waiter, was excellent. The food at Millstone/74 Main is quite good by NH standards. It is one of the better restaurants in the Dartmouth Lake Sunapee region. Pricing is competitive and reasonable.
My son is a student at Colby-Sawyer and we wanted to treat him to a special dinner. Our meal was wonderful. The food was excellent. Thank you so much!
Mashed potatoes were cold. Steak tips were cooked perfectly but cold. Skimpy on the beans. Over all taste was good, just served cold.
My husband and I both had the salmon and it was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and personable. We sat near the fire and it gave a very cozy and warm ambience. We had just come from New London's First Friday and so the dinner there was a perfect ending to the evening.
Cozy, warm atmosphere. Food was good, nice plate presentation, extensive wine list. The service was excellent. Private booths which I appreciate when dining out and it wasn't noisy - you can converse easily with whomever your dining with. Overall, a pleasant dining experience.
Lobster Bisque had no lobster.
Beef Bourguignon was runny - was like a bouillbaisse
Seafood Pie was tasteless and ordinary
Too long a wait for the initial wine order.
Water glasses were not refilled.
Coffee was lukewarm.
This was our first time there, and we were very pleased. The food was amazing, the portions were perfect, the service was excellent, and the place looks great. We will absolutely be back many times.
Wonderful people, wonderful food!! And a personality all it’s own. I highly recommend this restaurant, whether eating alone or with a group!
loved food and service was great.
Great food & service. We go regularly. The steak tips were awesome.
Terrific restaurant, much our favorite in the Upper Valley. Great food, splendid and courteous service, and a quite perfect atmosphere.
A quiet Sunday evening brought us into 74 Main at Millstone and we did not regret it.
Staff were very friendly and prompt. Food was tasty and melt in your mouth excellent. Look forward to a return visit the next time we are in New London.
Had a great time but food was hot or miss depending on what was ordered. Thai noodles vastly undercooked and sauce tastes like a jar was just poured over it. Fillet was excellent and perfectly cooked as were the Brussels sprouts and the beet salad was a delicious composition. Skip the fish tacos and go straight to the apple cobbler dessert.
Highlight of our even was our waitress!!! So friendly and very good service despite having a lot of tables.
the server (Aaron?) was terrific. I would go again just to see him.
Would have had a better experience if our server did her job. The filet was over cooked and after telling our server we had to ask for another one! By the time it came back out my wife had finished her meal! The server didn’t even wait to see if it was cooked properly. Never got our water glasses refilled or asked if we wanted another glass of wine or dessert! Not a good Anniversary experience!!!
Very flavorful dinners nicely presented. Slightly slow service nowadays.
Catered to my dietary needs and everything was delicious!
Our waitress was excellent- very busy but kept us in her sights!
Our reserved table was ready and waiting. Since our guests were traveling quite a distance , they arrived a little late. The waitress was most accommodating and patient as well as very pleasant and professional. Meal came quickly. My husband loved the mussels. Our friend complemented her Caesar salad. Her husband was less pleased with his choice, but realized he had expected it to be somewhat different. My salad was crisp and fresh and topped with a lot of goat cheese, which made it great.
A very pleasant experience. I felt pampered.
Was overcharged on a couple of menu items - was rectified. We had indicated on your app that it was our anniversary. No one at the restaurant mentioned it. Sad.
Limited menu due to covid. Excellent service and atmosphere.
I like this restaurant because it is well run. The menu is diverse enough. It is reasonably good value and it is quiet.
The service started out a bit slow, but I am sure they must have been short staffed as so many restaurants are these days. It picked up and we had a very good experience. The food was interesting and delicious! Well worth the 45 minute ride to get there. We'll go again!
What a great experience for my wife’s birthday. Thanks you
Service was prompt and accurate. Menu variety was very good and although we had to make a change in order due to a 1st choice from daily specials menu no longer being available, was very pleased with the food. Waitress was good at checking on us without being on top of us. Ambiance was good although there seemed to be a wide range of dress style, from very, very casual to smart business, even amongst the staff.
We were in New London for a 3 night getaway from Connecticut. We were celebrating our 47th anniversary at 69 years old and have been to a lot of restaurants. We really enjoyed this night. I had the steak tips cooked to perfection and my wife had the Thai Peanut Bowl with Lobster. Service and ambiance were just what we were looking for. Our waitress was great. Drinks were good too (that is one way we have come to judge a restaurant). I would highly recommend 74 Main at Millstone
