700 Drayton at The Mansion on Forsyth Park Ratings and Reviews
We went for NYE. We were never informed that it was a fixed menu for $95 per person. Not a great selection to choose from either. They did not offer the regular menu to order from at all. Ended up getting the surf and turf. The lobster was so salty that it was basically inedible. Filet tasted more like a sirloin, not tender at all. We had a table of 9 and not a single person was happy.
We ate at 700 Drayton 3 times while in Savannah on vacation: 1 brunch and 2 dinners. We don't normally for back to the same place while on vacation but it was so good that we did. The service we received was tremendous every time. In fact, the last time my husband forgot his credit card and the waitress turned it into the security office so that we were able to retrieve it before departing for home the next morning. The food was expertly prepared, delicious, and well-served. The waiter or waitresses were attentive each time without being over-bearing. We were never rushed. The menu was continental. The pace of the meals was ideal. The ambience of the restaurant is varied in sections and delightful. When we asked to be re-seated in a different area, they were fully accommodating.
Lunch took way too long with absent, oblivious server and lackluster food...front desk manager was very understanding and took care of our meal and parking. Definitely need to work some things out at this restaurant— beautiful, cool space... needs some passion and intensity.
A little further from the main historic area in Savannah, but so worth the extra mile. Excellent food, simple menu easy to understand, perfect for brunch with our kids. Great view of Forsyth Park, gorgeous dining rooms, and attentive service. We will definitely go back on our next visit to the city.
We had the Thanksgiving Prix Fixe dinner. The food was good and just enough to not get stuffed. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. My only complaint was a 20% tip added to a party of two. I would have tipped that much or more, but was put off by the restaurant's actions. We also had drinks upstairs after and a drink before in the hotel. Both experiences were pleasant.
Went there for Thanksgiving brunch because we wanted to do something a little different. $70 a plate. Only about 3 things were delicious, most things were ok, a few things were terrible. My husband and I are not picky eaters. We ate everything. Basically, if we paid $70, their brunch should have been knocking it out of the park!
We were only party but service was abysmally slow. Probably 20 min to order another 15-20 til food arrived. Beautiful presentation. Crab cake sandwich too much bread. Seafood bisque spicy. Problem was not good but service and we were the ONLY table in the restaurant Took hour and 40 minutes for a simple lunch I won’t go back
While the food is always good, but the past two time I have been the service has made me feel ignored. Only once were we offered a refil on coffee, never on coke and the server never came back to ask us how are food was or if we needed anything else. It’s a bit pricey just for basic breakfast food.
Been here multiple times for great dinners. Brunch was underwhelming. Menu is boring and can be found anywhere in Savannah at far less pricey places. I arrived on time to meet with friends and was quickly seated, however, friends were a bit late and I waited at the table for nearly 15 minutes before I was offered a cup of coffee. Once my friends did arrive, the service was quite good. Now if they would just fix the menu.
wonderful shrimp and grits and the burger was excellent too. The shrimp was fresh and prepared perfectly. Service was excellent. It is a nice environment. We went for brunch but dinner would have also been amazing. It is right across the street from forsythe park and some areas had a view of the park. The sunroom was beautiful. I wish I could take home all the paintings. There was a beautiful wood room with a fireplace and I'm not sure if they use it for regular dining or special occasions but it was so cozy I could see someone going for a romantic evening in that space. You pretty much can't go wrong wherever you sit. It is just a beautiful venue.
