Outstanding food and ambiance, inconsistent service. In two visits last week, our evening waiter was top notch in every aspect of service, exceeding our already high expectations; at lunch the following day, waiter was a miserable failure - spilled water on table multiple times, erred the drink order, had to be reminded three times to bring napkins, couldn't remember the food order and returned to the table to be reminded, looked like he combed his hair with a pitchfork, and several other faux pas. Otherwise, would have received fives in all categories.
Lovely place with charming views of park. Nice menu but execution was uneven.
Some ingredients were missing from menu descriptions and fish was overpowered by sauce. Would have felt more comfortable if they had under-liner plates on which to place your silverware, since there are no tablecloths or placemats.
Also waiter gave me someone else’s much higher bill, which held me up when Uber was waiting.
Overall, nice place with potential for improvement.
We had a very inexperienced and inattentive server
Went for my birthday dinner while visiting Savannah for the weekend. Table was in a dark corner in a weird annex room with only like 5 other tables. It was dark and quiet. Super limited menu but the food was good. Unfortunately the place is so spread out service was slow and tough to find our server. Birthday dessert took forever to come out and it was the wrong dessert and no candle and not brought by our sever. Finally another 20 minutes after waiting and she comes over and asks how it was? And we tell her it’s the wrong order and she goes back and doesn’t appear again for another half hour and we just asked for the check. Lots of great options in Savannah far better than this place.
My husband and I, along with another couple we were traveling with, thoroughly enjoyed our experience at 700 Drayton. Our server, Adam, was extremely attentive and accommodating. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Our appetizer was absolutely delicious. We will definitely visit 700 Drayton again on our next trip to Savannah.
An excellent evening of good food and conversation. A large party that arrived halfway through our dinner spoiled the peaceful room. Our waiter offered to move us which was very thoughtful.
When you enter the mansion that houses 700 Drayton its very grand, but the the dining areas were a disappointment. 700 Drayton is dressed nice on the outside but does not reflect the experience to be had on the inside. One patron was seated indoors with his 2 small dogs at his feet.
We were seated for dinner in a room that was a large indoor porch with windows facing the courtyard and fountain just outside. The room had no atmosphere and there were chairs stored in the room. The space felt hollow.
The menu offering was very limited, although the wine and spirit selections were extensive. Our meals were average in execution, and presentation: shrimp and grits, braised short rib & mac n cheese. For the prices we expected more fine dining.
The bar at 700 Drayton is cool and classy. We didn't eat at the bar but if you wanted to you could We had drinks at the bar and enjoyed the ambiance there a lot better.
So much yum!!! Food was delicious, service was fantastic and the ambiance was perfect for an intimate date night. We will be going out of our way to dine here for all future trips to Savannah!
Service and food were exceptional
Our waiter was the best took great care of all our needs. Highly recommend.
nothing special, nothing to complain about though.
It didn’t meet my high expectations. It’s not what I call fine dining. Very casual and the food was so so.
Excellent food and service. Ignore the stupid negative reviews obviously written by people who either did not read the menu or simply were not looking for a high end experience
Service is friendly but not knowledgeable. Customers want concise, accurate descriptions to questions about the menu not “I’m not sure.” Interrupting to inquire whether the faster eater wants their plate removed while others are still eating an expensive meal is an inappropriate trend that should be abolished. The grouper was good but the seemingly freeze dried sweet potatoes a(and freeze dried coconut on the dessert)
were no more a “side” than a parsley garnish. The second floor bar remains a mystery that is closed more than open.
Whalen I had breakfast there no placemat adorned was beneath the scant plate of food. This restaurant is
the anchor of Forsyth Park and should be far more elegant and professional in every way.
Gorgeous and delicious! We dined with our 3 and 6 year old granddaughters and they were very accommodating. Would recommend!
First time visiting the Drayton 700, more or less scouting of the restaurant for a future visit when friends and family visit the city I believe I will return
Unfortunately we had an inexperienced poorly trained new waiter who rushed our food . He was trying hard but not trained. Some dishes like clams were quite spicy and not described as such
It was an amazing experience. The food was amazing and our Waiter was outstanding. One thing I would recommend is having steak on the menu. It was solely seafood.
Food was exceptional but service mediocre
Came here for my birthday lunch. We were disappointed that the restaurant did not look like what was advertised. Great location and limited brunch menu.
Wife’s birthday and no one ever came back to clear our dishes so we asked for check and just left.
This is an -excellent- fine dining option for vegetarians. The vegetarian menu items are thoughtful and extremely well prepared, which can be unusual for this kind of restaraunt.
Amazing food!!!! Pricey but the portions are huge!!! Definitely would come back.
Management did the right thing and credited the meals and was very nice, but the food was horrible- appetizers came out after dinner, items in menu were substituted. Not recommended.
This was a special occasion for my sisters and I. Initially our wait person was quite friendly and helpful but before even the first course was served the service changed completely. Dirty dishes piled up on the side of the table, courses were brought out of order, and the service was incredibly slow. It was quite disappointing even though the food was fairly good.
The service here was fantastic, and granted, I had the last reservation of the evening and there was filming for the Hallmark Christmas movie going on immediately outside, but the food was subpar - overpriced crab cake and kind of limp and yucky fish. Again, however, can't emphasize enough how great my waiter was and the setting is, of course, quite lovely.
Outstanding dining. We are a mature couple (very mature), that have traveled extensively so we know good food. The staff accommodated is showing up early for our reservation, and seated us with only minimal wait, even though they were quite busy. Our waiter was an enthusiastic young man who was excellent. We shared the bib lettuce salad, baked carrots and fresh pan seared fish. All were done with panache. We finished with a bread pudding that was "to die for". Altogether a lovely evening.
This was certainly not we expected or was advertised. The restaurant seemed tired and worn down. We could not visit the elegant bar or main public rooms due to a film being shot. They have a modest wine list and were out of a standard NZ Sauv Blanc. The chicken was ok but not memorable. In fact the only “memorable” dish was the cornbread appetizer. This is not a bad restaurant but is definitely not fine dining any more.
Beautiful location on Forsyth Park. Breakfast tasted amazing, atmosphere was bright and comfortable, service was friendly and quick, and had a wonderful birthday breakfast.
We were treated very well, excellent service. Food was very good, but menu was somewhat limited. Will definitely return.
Excellent food and service! We had Easter brunch with friends who were in town and they were so impressed! We had a beautiful table at the window looking at Forsyth Park. We love this place!
We booked this restaurant because it offered outdoor seating, which would be safest during Covid. But when we arrived, we were told that they had closed the outdoor section "due to Covid." Which obviously didn't make any sense. Plus, the tables outside were set up with plates and napkins and everything-- when we pointed that out, we were told, the outdoor section is just for tea service.
We ultimately sat indoors and had brunch. The food was just ok. The eggplant starter was very bland, although the cornbread was delicious. The omelet was not great, but the chicken and waffles were tasty-- spicy and sweet. Both entrees were tremendous. Waitress was very nice and very friendly (unlike the hostess who argued with us about outdoor seating). Beautiful setting, but the food was mixed, and it wasn't worth it.
The brunch selection was excellent. Highly recommend the unique take on deviled eggs.
Underwhelming and disappointing all around
Great food & service. Waiter was very attentive & friendly. Great to meet the chef and it was special for him to share some of his culinary delights with our party. Beautiful restaurant! Be back soon.
We had the taste of Savannah the 4 course one price dinner. It was a very nice variety. We will go back again to try some of the other items on the menu.
Service was slow. Restaurant was out of two items ordered. One item we didn’t know about until part of the order was brought to the table; the other until right before the main order was served not allowing us to order a substitution. Poor planning for restaurant and server.
Service was extremely slow (HATE to have to ask for refills) and restaurant wasn’t busy.
Deviled eggs were supposed to be a “mousse” but they were very runny. Old?
Not what is expected for this establishment.
amazing experience! beautiful decor, wonderful service. we loved Celeste! amazing and interesting flavor pairing
Lovely building but they messed up on our meal a couple of times, overall a nice experience but not amazing.
