We had a wonderful dinner by the fire and service and food was amazing! If you go anywhere in savannah let this be it! We will be back again for more dinners!!!
Beautiful place, delicious food, friendly staff. We had a great time!
Delicious food in a beautiful setting.service was excellent!
Perfect for Sunday brunch (and I'm local). Great menu, lovely setting.
The food was excellent, however the service was very slow. Also when our side dishes( mashed potatoes and dirty rice)were brought to the table, there weren’t any spoons. I had to ask for them. Overall, it’s a nice looking restaurant and the food is excellent. They just need the service to match.
Overall I had a pleasant experience. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the food was good and nicely presented, and my server, Darko, was knowledgeable and friendly. I was a bit put out when I arrived, however - I had a reservation, yet when I arrived the Hostess attempted to seat me in the secondary "sun porch" space, despite there being several tables available in the more elegant main dining room. When I indicated I preferred to sit in the main room, preferably at a table with a chair as opposed to a bench, she sort of rolled her eyes, and wandered off. When she came back she led me to a table in the main dining room - albeit one with a bench. She said that all of the other tables were "taken" even though several were empty. I should point out that I was dining alone, as I frequently do, because as a traveler I would prefer a nice meal in a nice restaurant to overpriced room service, and I tend to judge a restaurant by the degree to which they welcome the solo diner. Sadly, she did not make me feel particularly welcome. Darko redeemed the evening with his service, but I would be hesitant to recommend this establishment to someone dining on their own.
Amazing breakfast. I had the southern chicken and waffles and my mom had the eggs benedict. They both are common dishes but the restaurant puts their own twist on it. The architecture is so beautiful. The cost was very fair as well. I highly recommend. We had Kayla for our waitress she was great so nice.
Food came out cold and service was slow. My wife had finished half her meal before the waiter came back to check on our meals and I could tell him the food was cold.
Went for our anniversary and the waitress read off a card “happy anniversary”. Nothing special was done. The waitress was somewhat polite but seemed scripted and didn’t seem to care about our service at all. Everyone seemed rushed when the restaurant was not even full. My wife was pregnant and ordered a mocktail. We were still charged full price and I didn’t feel like arguing a few bucks. Overall the setting is pretty, but the service and food are not worth the price. There are much better options around Savannah.
The food was great, the service was really bad. Super nice but super slow. We had to put on our “public speaking projection voice” in a very quiet restaurant to place an order. Then the order would take 15-20 minutes to fill, even for a cocktail or bottle of wine. The saving grace is that the food was incredible except for the raw oysters. Avoid them, they were served on a bed of lettuce room temperature. We’ve had plenty of half shell oysters over the years and always had them cold and served on a bed of ice. We didn’t risk it with these. The steaks, soups, salads, and desserts were awesome.
Beautiful old mansion. Salmon was terrific and cooked as specified. Pork also excellent. Hostess (Stacy) offered you give us a tour of the house after dinner, which she did. That was fun! And we found the secret door!
Wonderful food in a beautiful setting!
Based on the reviews I thought this would be a great high end date night spot but was very disappointed. We were seated in this seperate dining area off the main dining area that lacked the ambiance and felt like a cafe. The food was Luke warm, not cooked well and didn’t match the price. Our server was more fitted to answer customer service telephones than serve guests and we could hear kids watching cartoons on their tablets next door to us. Would not recommend this restaurant unless you want to waste $200.
The food was horrible. McDonald’s serves better breakfast
It's a classy place to dine. The food was fine as was the service. The butternut squash soup was the best part of the meal. Having dined in many local small restaurants in the neighborhood, the ambiance here was unique and played the "old Savannah" feel from the upscale side well. We enjoyed our experience.
Food was amazing! Staff were very friendly, especially Stacy. She said she’d only been there 6 months but was so knowledgeable of the restaurant and gave us a tour of the mansion.
What a wonderful experience. It’s like dining and a museum tour at the same time. Beautiful ambience - interesting history of the rooms, art work and hotel. A real gem.
Pleasantly surprised with this place. Initially I was confused since the place resembles a private residence (mansion). Upon entering, however, it was clear that I was in the right place. The restaurant is elegant and classy. The staff was highly attentive and professional. Our waiter, Jay, was both courteous and prompt.
The steaks we ordered were superb and tasty. We finished off the meal with a couple of scoops of delicious Leopold's ice cream! :)
Great place. We highly recommended it.
When we arrived no one was at the wait station. We finally got seated and ordered drinks. My nephew ordered a virgin mary but we both think it was a regular and we were charged that way. We ordered soup and entrees from the brunch menu. 30 minutes later our soup arrived and 2 minutes later our entrees came. By the time we finished the soup the other items were cooled off. When we got the bill they made a mistake so we had to have that fixed. All in all I will never return, nor recommend them to anyone
We were greeted with a polite and welcoming individual and were sat almost immediately. The ambiance of the place is beyond great. This was our second stop to this location and the food was fantastic... for the most part... and the service... was ok. It is not that the server Darko, was not personable or good at his job, he was both. He did an excellent job, but, our food was not brought out together, we had orders that were not delivered properly (things that we requested to be 86d from a plate were not and one member of our group did not receive his soup for about 15 minutes after the rest came out). It was a slower night in Savannah with tons of rain and there was a wedding that rented out the services of the restaurant so I am unsure if the issues were with the server or the kitchen, but I will give the benefit of the doubt to the server. I know Savannah in general is a slower paced city, but everything was just running a little slower than normal. That being said...
The food itself was delicious. The new fall menu has everything we would hope for from a menu and the wine selection had enough for every taste and pocket size.
Overall a great night. We will be back again.
Food was delicious, though hot items could have been a little warmer. Overall quiet pleasant and delicious.
The atmosphere was beautiful and the service was great. We started with the meat and cheese board, which was good. However, both of our meals were outstandingly bad. Both the chicken and rice dish and the pork chop were like sawdust. For this price point I don’t think that the rice should be so under cooked it hurt my tooth, half of the carrots on my plate mush while the other half were completely raw and the chicken and pork chop so overcooked that it was hard and incredible . Very disappointed. For the price of these meals that kind poorly cooked food should not leave the kitchen.
Food was mediocre, service, not as good as you would think for a restaurant of this caliber. Beautiful place, but very disappointing.
Food was horrible. All three guests were unhappy with their meals. One person ordered the Wreck fish which was still partly frozen! I had the salmon which was so overly salted as to be inedible. Very very disappointing...
We ordered 3 different entree’s and all did not meet expectations. The steaks were tough, chicken was dry and scallops were gummy. Very disappointed considering the occasion and the hype of the restaurant. Will not be dining again.
The food is good. The presentation is mediocre. The service is slow. It’s better than average for a hotel restaurant.
We had a wonderful brunch. The mansion is beautiful. The food was delicious and our waiter was great. They gave us a delightful dessert in honor of our anniversary.
Service was a little slow and forgetful
Everything was awesome
The food was incredible in taste and portioned perfectly. Wine was excellent. The building itself is beautiful. The staff is professional and friendly. 10/10 would recommend and will certainly return again.
Very limited menu. Was there on a Saturday night and was seated in the main dining room. There was a wedding party upstairs. The music was so loud the chandeliers on the main level were moving. It was difficult to carry on a conversation. No music or ambiance of any kind in the main dining room. Food was average and the menu limited in choices for a restaurant that has previously had such high ratings. Overall a disappointment. The management needs to decide if this is to be fine dining establishment or a party/wedding venue. It is unfair to the patrons in the main dining room to have such noise and vibration from people jumping and dancing directly upstairs.
The quality of the food was good but the service was just awful. Not only was the service incredibly slow (an hour before our first course was brought to the table) they were luke warm to cold. The main courses came at about the same speed and cold!
When we told the waiter of the problem, he agreed and apologized saying there was a wedding going on which the kitchen could not handle.
Cannot recommend a restaurant that overbooks its ability to serve it customers. Really disappointed!
The food was very good, but the service was slow. She forgot one drink order and didn't take the potatoes off one order.
Came here on out honey moon. Food was amazing(9/10). Our server was great(10/10) The dessert was decent (7/10). Definitely would recommend.
So we got the “open table” table.. no window, no view. We were eventually greeted by our waitress who was great but was also serving a large party at the other side of the restaurant ! Not her fault but managements, who seemed to be no where in sight. We received our appetizers before our cocktails and dinner was eventually served, timing wAs off and we felt bad for staff that was all over doing their best. I would not go back.
The food & ambience are incredible! We have gone to this restaurant many times & will definitely be back.
Awesome. Great food and service
Pricey, excellent location. Great environment unless u get stuck on glasses patio by the door! In and out in and out to the hotel ! Waitress extremely nice but late , off stride . Hostesses an attitude of her stuff more important than customers. Food very good! For the money below average night!
The waiter forgot my order and only brought my husbands entrée they told me it would take 25 minutes for me to get my own entrée so I just skipped it. It was a shame I’ve been there a number of years ago and it was great — today not so much
