700 Drayton at The Mansion on Forsyth Park

The restaurant is housed in a magnificent old mansion and is just dripping with authentic historic charm. The food was delicious and the ambiance unrivaled. We went for brunch but will be definitely going back for dinner.
Went for a Valentine's dinner and they had a fixed price menu. At best everything was ok. Nothing special. Not a good value for the price.
Worst food, worst service, worst prices. The food tasted like leftover food, the fish is over cooked and the risotto is bitter, even the desert is terrible. You can get the better quality at the supermarket. our reservation is at 9:15pm, but the waitress keep rushing us to leave.
Cadian our server was excellent. We were not overjoyed by the food, it was decent, but not outstanding, or special, quite honestly. the ambiance was great....quiet good lighting and surroundings, etc. It was overpriced for the taste of the food and the amount.
The lobster was a little undercooked. The cheese for 2 was watery and dipping pieces were too small.
It was ok. The hostess was nice but boring. I made a reservation but was seated after a couple who walked in before me...I thought that's why you made reservations. Ordered chicken and waffles. Chicken was kind of dark and the waffles were under cooked. The best part was my mimosa. Lol otherwise I won't be going again anytime soon.
The service was extremely slow, the food was lack luster at best and the menu did not give adequate descriptions of the meals.
Our server did an excellent job. We were seated in a cozy alcove with a fire in the fireplace. The setting is lovely. The noise level was very low—we could easily carry on a conversation. We had the Land and Sea. Tenderloin, blue crab and shrimp. Mashed potatoes and asparagus. Food was good, including the spicy calamari appetizer.
Amazing food, SUPER quiet and romantic restaurant, excellent service. Beautiful place, easy parking, we will return!
My entire group agreed this was the best meal we've ever had- two of us ordering the filet and the other ordering the lamb. The cornbread was the BEST cornbread we've ever had...THE BUTTER! Wow! Our waiter also gave us a dessert on him for the birthday we were celebrating. 100% RECOMMEND :D
My best friend and I were in a Girls Weekend celebrating being Cancer Free in Savanah. The dinner was perfect. Food was amazing.
What a great dining experience. Foot and service was exceptional. Our server, Nick, was outstanding! Highly recommend.
This was our first visit. We were expecting a brunch menu but it was an ordinary breakfast menu. The atmosphere was nice but our table was dark which made it difficult to read the menu. The service was a little slow. The server was NOT very engaging. The food was okay but not what we were expecting for brunch. Willing to try again perhaps for dinner.
Went for breakfast. Everything was delicious as expected. Glad we were able to visit this location and would definitely go again!
Lovely historic restaurant that looks out onto Forsyth Park. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and perfect service after the jazz concert. Highly recommend.
Great experience, highly recommend!
Wonderful service excellent wine pairings and manageable portions
We visit Savannah each January and 700 Drayton is always on our list for Brunch. Hands down, they consistently have the best calamari we have ever eaten. This visit we were also blown away by the Shrimp Soup - I would love the recipe!
The food, service (Joanne was wonderful) and the stylish ambience all make for a great experience.
Excellent brunch dishes, but rather “relaxed” service. Overall, very good.
The wine list is subpar and the food is average. The building is spectacular.
Mark, our waiter, was fabulous! The food was wonderful and it was almost like having our own private dining room.
The food was great but for the small amount of people dining in at 12:30pm on a Wednesday the service was very slow. It was also quiet, no music playing.
This place has gone downhill our dinner in 2914 was excellent. Superior service and class. We stayed at the hotel - had 3 breakfasts (1 inedible) included in the package and a birthday dinner bc we remembered a great experience in 2014. No spoons on the table for morning coffee. No salt and pepper on the table for any of the meals. No bread served with dinner tho 5 years ago it was an excellent basket. Staff sweet as they can be but slow as molasses and without a clue. We may stay at the mansion on Forsyth Park again but will not eat at 700 Drayton again.
We made the perfect selection for our family gathering. Our family who was traveling from out of state was really impressed. This place is very elegant and beautiful. The food was really good and the service was superb. Our server, Kadiann, was great! She was helpful and pleasant with us. Can’t wait to go back!
Excellent all around. Little pricey but worth it.
This is a very nice place for a quiet lunch.
Perfect lamb chops, average halibut. Another couple took our reserved table, so manager comped a bottle of wine which was nice
One of the least impressive dining experiences we've ever had. Everyone was super nice, but far from professional. Our story:
We weren't seated until 10 minutes after our reservation because "our server was with another table." Not sure what that has to do with seating us, especially as the restaurant was 80% empty, but ok... Finally seated, no one comes to take a drink order for 20 minutes. When someone (the hostess) finally comes, we order two glasses of bubbly, and they proceed to open a lukewarm bottle at our table, shooting the cork into the ceiling. Entertaining, but not confidence inspiring. Our server finally comes by about 30 minutes after our reservation time and takes our order. Again, super nice and apologetic. But it's a largely empty restaurant.
Ordered appetizers and entrees. They were out of oysters (despite being mostly empty), so we tried the calamari. It was soggy and not particularly appetizing. So we cancelled our mains and called it a night.
Again, lovely people working there, but this is a terribly run restaurant. At its price point, it is totally inexcusable. Don't go, we never will again.
Had Christmas dinner there tonight, party of four. Beautiful venue, hostess and team were friendly and welcoming. But server was horrible. Barely audible in the fairly empty room when he finally got around to visiting our table. Seemed afraid to approach the table, speak to people. Couldn’t remember the specials, had to look them up. We ordered cava, he sent another server over - she told us he didn’t know how to open the bottle. She was friendly and professional with both the first and second bottle. No other wine was ordered but the wine glasses remained on the table the entire time. One water glass was chipped, we let the friendly server know since we hadn’t seen ours in a while. She was apologetic, took the glass but we had to ask our server for a replacement when he eventually came by again. We’d been seated one full hour before any food arrived - including our oyster appetizer, served with the entrees. No oyster forks, no small plates or bowls. Food was not horrible, but nothing special, nowhere near as good as the other five meals we’ve had earlier this week in Savannah. Probably explains why the place was so empty. And saw another diner complaining to the manager. Would not return, would not recommend. Extremely disappointing.
Food was very good but came out like warm it was not that busy so I feel there was no reason except service
After many years of Christmas tradition eating at the manion the bait and switch to a open ballroom was very disappointing to say the least definitely not up to the manion standards the service was awful terrible ambiance not to mention noisy most of all having to clear our own plates to make room for other plates very poor drink service we will be taking this off our list of places to dine ...
According to Open Table, we would have had a meal ordered from a menu in a small dining room. The 700 Drayton restaurant was not open. We were told to go to a large ballroom The only option was the buffet. We should have left then, but, being Christmas Day, we didn’t know where else to go. The waiter was mediocre. The food was mediocre. And then we got the bill. $79 each. Plus they added in. 25% tip.
I don’t fault Open Table—I imagine you publish what you’re given. But the Hotel should be forthcoming about holiday dining. Of course I should have called to check beforehand, but I just assumed that the information on Open Table was accurate.
Did not get order right several times. Kept blaming correct order delivered to the wrong table. Three times server came to deliver deserts while we were still on entree or appetizers. Restaurant not that busy with simple price fixe menu for Xmas eve and very disorganized service.
Loved hearing the history of the building..fabulous food, and the interior with pops of color and original art is a designer’s dream!
The food was ok. The fried calamari was by far the best part of the meal. Probably one of the better fried calamari dishes we’ve had. It was fresh and crisp with a little heat from the hot peppers. The burger was pretty good, but the honey chicken for $23 was overpriced and dry. The service was one of worst we’ve experienced. It was like the waitress was annoyed we were there eating. Dirty appetizer dishes were still left on the table when our desert was served. Our water glasses were left completely empty and had to ask for water. With all the great places to eat in Savannah I would say find someplace else.
All good, just one small thing that all in our party agreed on, and that is that some of the food was over salted.
Enjoyable meal in nice ambiance
Our server was personable and attentive. The restaurant was decorated beautifully. The food was amazing and the hostess was sweet, offering to take photos.
