700 Drayton at The Mansion on Forsyth Park Ratings and Reviews
The food was mediocre at best. The menu was limited and I feel like they should have had they’re best chefs prepare it but I just didn’t get that. The lamb was raw, the potatoes were too sweet, and the fondue was cold. I would not recommend. There are much better restaurants in the area.
Very disappointing. Went there for Valentine's Day dinner. Our first time there. We chose to eat downstairs because the dining rooms upstairs were tiny and depressing.
The only menu was a prix fix menu which we were not expecting so choices were limited. I had lamb chops which had so much sinew in them I couldn't cut through. Nicest part of the whole experience was the free glass of champagne when we entered the restaurant.
We went to 700 Drayton for their Valentines Day special. From the Valet Parking to the greeting at the door with a couple flutes of Champagne, we knew it was going to be a good evening. It really was! The service was prompt and attentive. The Chef even made a brief appearence to see if everyone was enjoying the food. Everything from appetizers to dessert was nothing less then superb. Beautiful presentation on both my steak and my wifes lamb dish added to the enjoyment. Every bite was perfectly cooked and delicious. The handmade Pistachio Cake Balls and Pistachio Gelato were positively amazing. We will be back again and again. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a great dining experience at 700 Drayton.
We really enjoyed dinner at 700 Drayton as it was away from the buzz of the city life, relaxed and exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed Forsyth Park being right outside, perfect for an after dinner stroll. The food and drinks were excellent and the service was great. We would definitely return here on another occasion.
The food was absolutely amazing. I went with my significant other for my birthday. From walking inside, the hostess was very nice and our service was spectacular. We enjoyed everything from the bread, the crispy pork belly, apple pecan salad, filet mignon, salmon and the apple galette with Leopold’s vanilla caramel pecan ice cream! Yummy! This is a great date night spot and the fireplace added to the cozy ambiance.
Very nice upper tier restaurant near Forsyth Park. Very very very limited luncheon menu with only five to ten entrees, and very costly. Stayed despite initial disappointment with the limited menu. No bread brought to table while awaiting lunch to be delivered.
Would pass this one by for more suitable luncheon places.
My wife and I went to 700 Drayton for dinner during Savannah restaurant week. It was a pleasurable experience on all counts. The restaurant is beautiful on its own and the menu selected for restaurant week was one of the best in Savannah. Our food as well as our service was impeccable.
Overall ok but would be interested in seeing how things go when it's not Restaurant Week. Immediate attempt to upsale bottled water was off putting. Meals arrived and mine looked like something out of the garbage. It tasted fine but no visual appeal. Filet was not cooked as ordered. Server didn't notice or ask. Dirty plates left on the table when servers and managers all stopped by to ask if they could bring us anything but left the dirty dishes. The last straw was the deserts being brought to the table while my partner was still eating his entree. Not impressed.
We went for restaurant week and all throughly enjoyed our food and our server Andreana. She was very personable and helpful and a great waitress. Most of us had the pear salad for a starter and the salmon for the main course and were very pleased with our selections.
This has just become our favorite dining establishment in Savannah..and this from someone who eats out at least three times a week, often times more. While we tend to not go downtown that often, we decided to enjoy the fare at 45 Bistro due to Savannah Resturant Week. WOW....sure glad we did. The my steak was, in every way, as good as that I enjoyed recently at a couple of top rated NYC steakhouses. My wife found her fish to be flaky, and perfectly cooked. From appetizer to dessert, everything was perfection. Even the coffee was great. We have asked friends to join us there, again, for dinner this week....it was that good. If you want great dining in the center of Savannah, this is the one place you don't want to miss.
We visited for Restaurant week and could not have been happier. My trio of lentil soup appetizer, petit filet and Leopold's ice cream dessert could not have been better. Soup was thick, fill of lentils and other vegetables, the filet was tender and tasty and there's no words are necessary for Leopold's ice cream. This is a real fine dining establishment!
Had a great night out with friends trying out Savannah Restaurant Week picks in the menu! The appetizer and entree were wonderful . The dessert just meh! I had the chocolate lava cake and it was not very rich in true chocolate flavors like I would expect a lava cake to be !
We recommend the dinner selection. Filet Mignon was prepared perfectly. Pear salad was special. Dessert was sublime. Excellent wine list. We appreciated the ambience of an old Savannah brick building with a large foyer, very high ceilings, lovely lighting and paneling. Excellent service.
We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday Brunch in the beautiful enclosed porch. Our server was great - friendly, engaging and accommodating, as well as very professional. We shared the Salmon Crostini which was very ample for the three of us, and absolutely delicious. Both my husband and mother-in-law had gorgeous Burgers with Blue Cheese and I enjoyed a wonderful salad with poached pears and a French-cut Chicken Breast.
We went for NYE. We were never informed that it was a fixed menu for $95 per person. Not a great selection to choose from either. They did not offer the regular menu to order from at all. Ended up getting the surf and turf. The lobster was so salty that it was basically inedible. Filet tasted more like a sirloin, not tender at all. We had a table of 9 and not a single person was happy.
We ate at 700 Drayton 3 times while in Savannah on vacation: 1 brunch and 2 dinners. We don't normally for back to the same place while on vacation but it was so good that we did. The service we received was tremendous every time. In fact, the last time my husband forgot his credit card and the waitress turned it into the security office so that we were able to retrieve it before departing for home the next morning. The food was expertly prepared, delicious, and well-served. The waiter or waitresses were attentive each time without being over-bearing. We were never rushed. The menu was continental. The pace of the meals was ideal. The ambience of the restaurant is varied in sections and delightful. When we asked to be re-seated in a different area, they were fully accommodating.
Lunch took way too long with absent, oblivious server and lackluster food...front desk manager was very understanding and took care of our meal and parking. Definitely need to work some things out at this restaurant— beautiful, cool space... needs some passion and intensity.
A little further from the main historic area in Savannah, but so worth the extra mile. Excellent food, simple menu easy to understand, perfect for brunch with our kids. Great view of Forsyth Park, gorgeous dining rooms, and attentive service. We will definitely go back on our next visit to the city.
