Went to dinner on a Saturday night. We had a reservation. The restaurant was hosting about 4 large birthday parties, but was still able to take very good care of us. Our waiter was very attentive, knew the menu well and did a great job. The portions are large and the ingredients seemed of good quality and fresh.
The food was very good and the service was excellent. The restaurant was spacious. Looked like a good place for big parties.
I had eaten lunch at the restaurant which was good so I thought I would try it for dinner. Beg mistake. The delicious ht rolls at lunch had been replaced with stale slices of rye bread. The crab cake while big was so over mayonnaised that it was inedible. Wine list needs total overhaul.
Legit best food, this food has beaten 5 star restaurants in portions and quality. Service was f***ing outstanding
The entire experience was great. Dining can be challenging for me because I have many allergies but they were very accommodating. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. This will be my new favorite place for Mediterranean food in the area!
Very nice - went for a casual meeting with friends during happy hour. Great drinks and the food was delicious. Very reasonably priced.
Very dry food, but such nice waiters
Food and service is always awesome
Lamb chops were great!
Spinach salad was great!
Old bay wings were great!
Very noisy food wasn’t good
It was delicious!! Great lamb, mussels, tuna tartare and crab crakes. Great birthday day! Definitely a better place for groups/occasions. There were two different parties that were pretty loud but not a distraction.
Food was great, wine list a bit small and the Trivia Night noise level along with 2-3 large parties was deafening!
Don’t go after 7:30 on a Monday evening unless you enjoy trivia with your dinner whilst trying to have a conversation
Largely unremarkable food. Nothing was bad but nothing was delicious either.
My wife and I had a great meal and we enjoyed excellent service. My only issue was that the restaurant was too cold. Nonetheless, we are looking forward to a return visit.
Odd layout, a former nightclub or disco. Can be tricky getting to you table especially if you have low vision. Food was surprisingly good and the salad entree was generous. Okay for a quick meal or a first date because you can actually hear each other talk. Many large groups seated too.
My wife and I tried this place on Friday at 6:00 PM. VERY BUSY AND NOISY. DUH! We should know better. Other than that we had Christopher as our waiter. He was EXCELLENT throughout the meal. I had a Gyro sandwich (very substantial), a "side" Greek salad (VERY substantial - I ended up taking half of it home), a lemonade and a glass of their house Merlot. My wife had Chicken Souvlakia with broccoli and roasted potatoes. The food was very good and the portions were substantial, bordering on huge. The total was $35.80 before tip which is amazing nowadays. Of course, being there during "Happy Hour" (4-7) helped reduce the cost, but even so, it was extremely reasonable. We can certainly see why the place was so popular.
Always great tapas. Lots of room. Great dining experience. We have gone often.
My 1st time there, took my friend for her Birthday,it was her 2nd time there but we loved it,definitely going back
This restaurant did not have our Open Table reservation & was unsure what that was!! My email said they had CANCELLED the reservation. This was my daughters graduation dinner. Not cool!! However, it was early in the evening so they did accomodate us. It's a good place that we've been numerous times but they no nothng about this system. Call for reservation if you're going!
We celebrated our Anniversary at 7 West. We have had lunch here before, so knew what to expect in terms of the food. We were not disappointed. The lamb chops were excellent and the stewed green beans were good. The fish in sauce was also good. We enjoyed our meal. The service was fine. The music and back ground conversations makes the place a bit loud. If you are interested in intimate conversation, this is not the place. The decor is fine.
My family met there for an evening Easter dinner and were thrilled with the service, the quality of the food and the timeliness of our orders. The food was fabulous and reasonably priced.
The food taste amazing. The atmosphere is great for family and romantic dining. The hostess is friendly and make sure you are comfortable upon your arrival. The overall dining experience at 7West exceeded my expectations.
Made reservation through their own website, using open table. No reservation when showed up. Owner made BS excuse. Place had many large groups, half or more were done eating and leaving. But, waiter took forever to come and was slow all night. Food was decent except broccoli was room temp, and had to be sent back. Waiter forgot to bring second glass of wine.
I've eaten lunch and dinner here but not for 2-3 years . Probably new owners. Never going back
We selected the restaurant based on reviews but the food was a disappointment. The pork chops were extremely tough, had troubles just cutting them and the potatoes were not cooked enough. My daughter had a hamburger that was really dry. Our server was friendly but that was about it.
We really wanted to like this place. We usually go to the Hamden area and were hoping to find a good local place. The reviews were all really good but our experience was not. Food was not high quality, probably frozen, and was not well seasoned. My husband and I got steak which was tough and roasted vegetables which were soggy. My son- in- law got lamb chops and crab cakes. He said it was not well seasoned either. My daughter’s gyro and fries were good. The wine was decent and reasonable priced. No acknowledgement was made of my daughter’s birthday even though I mentioned it in my reservation. Overall, this would be a good place for drinks and appetizers but not for a meal.
Food was good. Restaurant was not crowded. They put us in this small side room with a few beat up tables, that was kind of dirty. Why they did not put us in the main dining room, which was bright and busy, with some empty tables, I do not know. At any rate, the waitress was nice enough and we enjoyed the food and the vast number of choices.
Excellent dining experience, the food and service was awesome.
I really enjoyed myself the food was good especially the rack of lamb.. the place was just a little cold..
Okay, but several birthday parties going on. Not the intimate, elegant and relaxing space they claim.
Service was excellent from everyone we encountered. Seated immediately. Server Cayan was very friendly attentive. Waters were kept filled without being intrusive. Bread was delicious! We had several tapas and two meals. Portions for meals were huge! Humus and Spanakopita were very good! Bacalao and Soithwestern Egg rolls were a big hit. Will return when we pick up the kids up for spring break.
First time I went there I stuck with Greek food which was excellent. I went back a few weeks later with friends. There was paint night and trivia night going on the same evening. It was like trying to eat in the middle of a three ring circus. My friends ordered a crabcake and chicken marsala. The crab cake was fair at best. The chicken marsala was a big pile of spaghetti with tasteless brown sauce with a couple pieces of overcooked chicken. The waitress was a nightmare, other servers had to assist. We sat at a table with electric wires and outlet up against the table. Goes down as one of the worst girls night out. Shame, thought I found a new great place to eat.
Have been here several times because food is really good but this time I think I got taken with the price of a dirty martini I was asked if I wanted straight or on the rocks and said straight. When bill came I was charged $7 for on the rocks and $7 for straight but only had one drink. Manager told me it’s because straight had more vodka in it than one on the rocks. Difference is an ounce btw each and they have charged it that way for 7 yrs
That is ridiculous I should have been told there was a difference in the two. Also wasn’t listed on their special martini list. I asked at other bars since being there and was told they never heard of such a thing. Just list a dirty martini at the single price and make the Vodka the same amt in both. So if you order on the rocks here you will only get an ounce and then watered down with ice. Guess that’s how owner shaves costs. Won’t be going back for drinks
This was a fabulous find. Upscale but not too fancy. The menu offered a wide variety of items which appealed to all in our group of 8. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for special occasions as well as a night out for dinner.
Went there the first time for brunch they made special eggs benedict for me because I do not like the salmon selection on the menu. The food was good the restaurant was not busy this Sunday.
Always love going to 7 west! Great food and wonderful service!
Food was excellent and service perfect. Very affordable. I thought was a little too family friendly. Kids running around making noise, but I still will go back, loved it
This was my first time at 7 West Bistro Grille and my feedback is Great Food, Great Service and a Great Atmosphere
7 west has the Best crabcakes ever! We introduced our Australian visitors to crabcakes here. It was a big hit! 😋
Always a bit loud, and the service is always a bit slow. The food is satisfactory.
