676 Restaurant and Bar
I was at 676 10 years ago and needed a special venue to entertain in. 676 surpassed my expectations and was just perfect!!!!! I appreciated that I could make a reservation, was greeted by name at the door and our table was set and waiting for us when we got there. amazing!!! our wait staff was spectacular!!!!!
Hidden gem. Food was great , service amazing !
The restaurant is beautiful and the service was amazing. Unfortunately the short ribs were tough and the rest of the food was just ok. Love the atmosphere and view but for foodies it was a little disappointing.
Filled up on hummus and 10 excellent farm raised cheese and charcuterie choices including lamb bacon, duck prosciutto, espresso parmesan, herb crusted goat capriole cheese plus excellent fig, mustard and olive tapenade, and bacon relish accompaniments! Great floor to ceiling window view of Michigan Ave! Feels like a hotel restaurant, no crowd at all on Thursday night which is good, but a low energy thing. Service kind and responsive.
Stayed in the hotel where the restaurant is. Very convenient. Breakfast buffet was ample with variety of fresh fruit, cheeses, eggs made to order, etc. Staff very polite with great service.
Hidden gem smack in middle of mag mile. Food tastes fresh and prepared with care. Robust portions, plenty of seating and surprisingly delish despite pretty conventional menu offerings. We had brunch and everyone loved their dishes; we will be back for lunch /dinner soon.
Have been there many times for breakfast. Service and food quality is always great. Enjoyed a relaxing breakfast without being rushed or having to talk loudly. A great way to start the day.
We had two basically good lunches in a nice room looking out over Michigan Ave. I had a hamburger, very tasty and my companion had the short rib sandwich which he liked. All in all just fine.
This review is specifically for the 2019 Mother’s Day brunch. I’ve been to 676 fur Mother’s Day several times and their regular brunch many times. The overall quality has always been very good and for Mother’s Day in the past they’ve really gone all out with beautiful displays and many stations and an abundance of different types of food. This year’s Mother’s Day brunch was mediocre compared to years past and my husband and I were really disappointed. Displays were not as many and more blah, they kind of had the stations crammed together, and the range of food options were more limited. In the past they must have actively advertised the brunch because there were always lots of well dressed families there and the place was packed. This year the crowd was really light and most people looked like they had just rolled in from the hotel upstairs and weren’t really there to celebrate Mother’s Day. The experience wasn’t worth the $66/person. The desserts were almost inedible; very poor flavor on the baked goods.
They’ve clearly changed their approach and it made me wonder if they have new management.
Overall the food was fine but nothing special. I’m sad to say that this year’s experience is causing me to rethink my go-to restaurant for celebrating Mother’s Day.
The food was amazing! Everything was fresh & delicious. There was a large variety, something for everyone (even my picky children!)
It was our first time in Chicago and you offered great food and service. Our server Adrian was awesome!!! Great dining experience. Keep it up!
I really like the Omni Hotel. this was my first visit. The breakfast food was good except the sausage that I found inedible. The waiter did not do anything about it when I mentioned it to him. I did not complain to a manager. Was tired and did not feel like a discussion. The eggs and bagel were good. The bagels could have been toasted a bit more, but...
Incredible food, will be back for sure
Everything was excellent! The staff was friendly. Our water glasses were always full!!!
The food and service are good. No complaints in that department. Try the meatballs as an appetizer. However, My party and I were extremely upset that they canceled the Sunday brunch. It was an excellent brunch, one of the best in Chicago. They still have it posted on the website, that they are serving their brunch. That didn't happen. I truly hope they bring it back.
Everyone was great and helpful
Excellent food. Needs to be discovered by more--too quiet. A fourth floor hotel restaurant is hard to spot, but right on Michigan Avenue and great window views. Great GF options. Loved the charcuterie tray, scallops, braised beef short ribs, and gnocchi. Service was impeccable.
Under staffed and food was cool.
We went for New Year’s Eve and had a really good dinner and server. The people next to us were loud but other than that good experience.
Super nice, as usual!
The service was friendly & timely. Great cocktails and appetizers. Good salads & soup.
Excellent food. Kudos to the gluten free options. Cocktails were reasonably priced and very tasty. Might want more options as far as food. Romantic and beautiful. Staff was very efficient but not that personable. Our waiter was attentive and water was refilled constantly. The hostess did greet us but a smile would go a long way. Overall experience was good and will return again.
676 always delivers. It is a hidden gem with great food, great view and wonderful service.
We had amazing service and really good food. It was not crowded and I hope more people discover this gem on Michigan Ave.
This is my third Thanksgiving dinner at 676 and it was a wonderful meal as always. The charcuterie is magnificent and the main courses are fine as well. Breakfast the next day is highlighted by sausages made in-house. I loved the ones with blueberries. Yes, blueberry sausage -- it stands up almost as fine as the lamb bacon on the charcuterie. Alas, the service is not always timely, and we had to ask for our check at both meals, after a bit of a wait.
Quiet location, in omni hotel. Food was fair value given location on Michigan avenue in prime location. Good sized portions, service good.
The scallops were wonderful. Cooked to perfection!
Back around past the bar a great spot for groups. We loved the food on Saturday night
We visited 676 on the first night of our trip to Chicago. We were happy with the venue, service, location, food, atmosphere, etc. We started with a select your own cheese/charcuterie platter--very enjoyable, especially the aged cheddar and goat cheeses we selected (you make choices off of the menu and they prepare a platter for you with accompanying fig spread, gardineria, mustard, crackers, bread. I didn't really like the duck prosciutto as much, but I am not a sausage loving person, even in the south of France where I recently traveled. We had the salmon for an entree, very good, even the cauliflower puree which I have not liked in the past at other locations.
First time eating here, food was good and service was great. My wife and I only spent 2 days in Chicago on a road trip traveling from New Orleans
The food was great but the service was incredibly slow. The waiter(s) were nice but it took forever to get our drinks and then our dinner. They rarely came to our table despite the fact that they were not busy.
I chose this restaurant for it’s rating on my “Find me Gluten Free” app and the restaurant’s proximity to The Contemporary Museum of Art. I booked a late lunch time on a Saturday.
Upon request, my server explained the gluten free options. I asked for an allergy alert to be placed on my meal for gluten. I ordered a simple lunch—the gluten free version of the chicken sandwich with fruit, followed with a cup of coffee. Everything was yummy. I had no adverse allergy reaction to my meal.
The fourth floor view of the intersection below was perfect for people watching and the noise level was quiet. I found the venue inviting and relaxing.
Easy to book attentive staff excellent food. Nothing to fault.
The Breakfast Buffett always is fantastic. I have frequented this restaurant every time I travel to Chicago even when not staying at the Omni. Always top quality of fresh fruit, made to order omelet or eggs. The prosciutto and cheese and fresh bread is great with freshly made spreads for bread ...salmon spread, corn salsa etc...
The view of Michigan Avenue is great.
Ordering off menu also does not fail to be fantastic
The staff are very attentive and professional with a smile. Thank you David for your kindness!!
Brooke was our server and she was excellent! The food was good and ambiance was excellent!
Bartender Michelle made us feel right at home with excellent cocktail suggestions and conversation before dinner. We chose the charcuterie and deviled eggs and all were fantastic! Service was great.
Have been here several times and food and service always excellent. We were here at 11 on a Sunday which was their brunch menu but on request they gave us their lunch menu also. They don't rush you and the place is conversation friendly.
My husband, daughter, & I celebrated a long day of moving into her new apt after a cross-country move from NYC. We couldn't have chosen a more ideal restaurant. Service was exceptional & unobtrusive, the food memorable (loved the seared scallops, the 6 oz. filet was very tasty), the setting elegant & quiet. We didn't have cocktails or dessert, but I'm sure you won't be disappointed with any selection.
Food is sourced locally when possible and many of the sources are noted in the menu. It makes the quality of the food superb and the preparations are well done and nicely presented. Servers are knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. The salmon salad was an excellent choice.
