660 at The Anglers Ratings and Reviews
We picked from the Miami Spice menu and it was fantastic. Everything was exquisite. Top favorite was the carbonara appetizer (mashed potatoes instead of pasta- perfect.). We also had the surf and turf- scallop and shredded beef. The Hendrix drink was also a top favorite. Refreshing cucumber, mint, Hendricks gin, and lime. Perfect for a romantic evening.
Very nice, quiet, dim, ambiance...but the food was bland. Risotto looked amazing but didn't taste like anything! Egg carbonara could of been more seasoned as well. Duck wings, I have to say were surprisingly the best. Still, the plates I was eager to try ended up a disappointment.
Very poor experience, starting with the valet who was rude. We had booked a late dinner, the restaurant had only 2 occupied table and people wanted us out as quickly as possible and made sure we did. The tasted poorly and the room smelled of stale food. Also all the clients checking in or out walk through the restaurant. I am a foodie and dine out a lot in Miami. This was my worst experience so far.
The atmosphere was like a cozy living room, great! The service was good until more tables got seated then they brought our desserts before our entrees were finished. My Lasagna of Crustaceans was overly spicy, after 5 bites I couldn't taste anything other than red chili flakes. After we got our dessert served for the second time, my chocolate bread pudding was "rock" hard, couldn't even get a knife through it. When they brought it back a 3rd time the bread was still to tough for me to eat, and they didn't offer a new choice or compensation. I would not eat here again especially since that dinner was our anniversary. We were very disappointed in the entire experience.
Kitchen turns out beautiful and imaginative food at moderate (for South Beach) prices in a wonderful setting, but is woefully let down by front of house. Upon arrival, single parking valet was unavailable for several minutes and hostess remained on telephone and computer for several minutes more without acknowledging us, then had no idea where to seat us in any of several attractive rooms. Throughout evening wait staff was nowhere to be found, did not open wine until asked twice, did not return to pour, never brought nor mentioned side dishes ordered. 660 has great young chef who turns out solid dishes in a comfortable and relaxing setting, but unless management and staff get with it he will opt for a more professional environment.
Went for Miami Spice Saturday evening and once again had a wondeful experience. The restaurant was packed; they had to move a table from outside to accommodate everyone. Here is my take-away from the Miami Spice menu:
Soft poached eggs carbonara- literally a poached egg with bacon crumbles and freshly grated cheese. Ooey gooey goodness
Fresh Avocado Bruschetta- large portion, didn't care for the white bread, the fresh cheese was great albeit a bit bland
Sea Scallop & Kurobuta Pork Belly- my favorite. One jumbo scallop seared to perfection and a small piece of fork-shreddable melt-on-your tongue BBQ pork
Black Truffle Risotto- order this by all means! Creamy, cheesy risotto topped with fallen off the bone short ribs and a very flavor
Did a Miami Spice dinner for $35 so comments relate to that deal only. Service was very attentive without being too pushy on extras and pricey wine. We had three courses and all were very good and well prepared. One minor comment is that the decor just seemed to miss the mark, the atmosphere was nice but the overall look of the place seemed a little tired. Please don't get me wrong as I would go there again for the food and service, especially for $35. Perhaps not for a special occasion though.
We were very pleased with the food and the service. The wait staff was helpful, unobtrusive, and efficient. One negative: although we asked for additional bread and the waiter acknowledged and said yes, he never brought it to the table. Other than that, we consider this restaurant charming and well worth a visit. We'll probably go back.
Went for romantic dinner with my wife place is small and intimate, service very good we had the Miami Spice menu it was not only good but fairly generous wine was good had a great time even got a tour of the rooms at the hotel nice getaway. Would revisit for sure
We really enjoyed 660, and ate there several times during our week's stay in Miami. Breakfasts were ample, delicious and well-priced. Dinners featured good food that was thoughtfully prepared. These weren't the absolute best meals I had in Miami, but they were consistently good quality, with attentive service in a very pleasant, comfortable dining room. I highly recommend it.
I brought my wife here to celebrate a special occasion and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The ambiance was quaint and romantic - almost loungey. It was a nice quiet spot away from the hustle and bustle of the beach scene. The food was magnificent. We were blown away by the appetizers and entrees. We'd definitely be interested in trying out the brunch some day.
I've been to 660 at The Anglers on few occasions and in fact have always raved about it. On this occasion I brought a group of friends (8) and were met with the worst service, and ambiance you could have asked for. Firstly, the priority for the evening was the owner's friends party - which featured blaring glam rock. We sat outside and asked if the music could be changed, or turned down and were told, "you have no choice, it's what the owner wants." Then the night was followed by low grade, second class service. It was a real disappointment. We asked for a second bottle of wine and it took 10 mins to arrive. Meals were served sporadically so everyone started at varied times. The delay is expected but this was too much.
We were celebrating my birthday in south beach and we decided to go here. the food was okay, believe it or not i can't say i liked what I had, the waiter recommended the grilled chicken which tasted more like burnt chicken to me and my husband some carbonara pasta, i don't think he was that thrilled with his dish either..
Our late dinner at 660 was superb. The lamb was tender and flavorful. The carbonara was superb and the steak perfectly cooked medium. Alex, our server, took care of us all evening . Our experience at 660 was excellent and we can't wait to go back again. This restaurant is highly recommended especially for a romantic evening with that special someone.
A lovely setting and nice, well-priced Mediterranean food were lost in the fact of some of the most awful service I can recall. Not only did the food take forever to come, but the waiter was never to be seen and had a stand offish attitude when he did appear. On Saturday night in February only a handful of tables were occupied - I hate to think of what the experience would be if the place was busy.
As guests of the hotel, we ate at 660 more out of a desire for a quiet night than for the restaurant itself. If you are looking for a very low-key, intimate setting, this is the place. Cozy little outdoor space with plenty of room between tables. The food was not five-star but delightful. The duck wings appetizer was the highlight. The "pressed" half-chicken was also quite good, although just a bit dry. The service could be a little tighter, but given the context it is appropriate. In all, no complaints.
We returned to this restaurant largely in part to the braised ribs however the menu has been recently changed and this item is no longer featured. What a shame! The menu is somewhat bland without many options, the restaurant is so quiet that you can hear people chewing at the table next to you especially since the tables are practically right on top of each other. Of all the options in Miami, this would not be on the list.
The food is good but nothing to write home about. The servings were not as big as the price you pay for. It is unbearable that the menu offers you a freshely squeezed grapefruit juice and you get bottled juice instead. If you want a very good brunch in South Beach, go to Jerry"s Deli in Collins Avenue with 15th Street.
The music was awfull. It would be nicer to have a quiet brunch.
they were out of many items on an already small menu. Could not eat appetizer of fried seafood and vegetable- way to heavy coating, unseasoned. Only ones in restaurant at 8 on thursday- made us feel like the place was about to close. Very disappointing after great meal there about 6 months ago. Something going on here?
Havng been here before and loved it, I was very surprised by my experience at Sunday Brunch this time. The service was terrible, it took 45 minutes to receive eggs. My dish was not as described on the menu. My husband had to get up and look for our waiter to remind him of our coffees. They arrived much later by a very apologetic waiter. The much advertised $14.00 all you can drink Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar has been increased to $25.00.
Unfortunately, I don't think we will eat here again.
