This was our first time eating at 626 on Rood. We had been given a gift card to celebrate our 18th anniversary.
We were not disappointed..as former chefs we often are disappointed when we eat out and so do not do it often.
The tenderloin was like butter and as well as the skirt steak in my salad. Skirt steak is so hard to do to get it tender like that! Amazing! The greens were delicious as well as the candied beets. The lemon drop martinis were out of this world.
We can not say enough about our experience except that it was the best anniversary celebration we have had in a very long time.
Our server was amazing as well and I feel horrible that I cannot remember her name but she was fantastic. Her knowledge of all of the food and it’s origins were a plus to our experience.

We had a great plant-based meal at 626. And our waiter, Patrick, was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the excellent food!

Simply the best restaurant in NW Colorado. Not to be missed. Beautifully creative cooking, and for those who imbibe, an outstanding mixologist.
Food is spectator and so is the wait staff! I can’t recommend this place enough. I’m still thinking about my dinner 3 days later.
Best food in Grand Junction, and best mac and cheese ever!
Service is always top notch! The cheese plate of the moment never disappoints. Drinks were delicious. We both enjoyed the beer cheese soup. I thoroughly devoured the Patagonian Toothfish and my husband loved the Niman Ranch Prime Strip with strawberry Creme fraiche. Dessert is always a yummy treat and the seductive reds wine flight always delivers. A wonderful evening as usual from Theo and crew!!
Delicious food, attentive service. Not a place to go if you’re in a hurry. Do try one of their flights of similar wines.

Enjoyed the cheese plate appetizer with the 3 choices of wine, called a FLIGHT. The waiter was knowledgeable and accommodating with food choices. Offering chicken instead of steak, and the chicken was so tender and delicious! Quite pricey -but would recommend for a nice date night.
It's our first visit to this restaurant. Everything was excellent. We ordered calamari and foie gras as the appetizers and braised Waguy beef for the main. For dessert we ordered chocolate Marquise cake. The presentation of our dishes was nicely done, starting with the plates and silverware.
Great food, great wine list. Great vegan options too. A gem.
Went to 626 on Rood for a date night with my wife. We had a great time. The service was super, the food was amazing and everybody around us was happy. We will definitely be back.
Excellent spot fora date night. We were in town for parents weekend with our college-age son. Outstanding wine list, much better than I expected (we ordered a ROAR pinot noir), great cocktails to start. Our son had the wagyu burger and rated it as perfection. I had the Niman Ranch strip, and my wife ordered the seared tuna. Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, definitely a spot we'll revisit when traveling to Grand Junction.
Very enjoyable Al fresco dinner on the patio. We enjoyed the new special menu, sampling the small plates and sharing a large main. Service was excellent. Nice evening.
Very original food but a little bit expensive for the location
We were looking forward to our meal, but came away feeling that 626 on Rood was overrated. My peach caprese salad was delicious, as was my husband's heirloom tomato salad. When it came to our main courses, we both ordered seafood, probably not the smartest thing to do when you are dining in the middle of the country. My husband ordered salmon, it arrived nicely prepared, but on the overdone side. I ordered the shrimp dish and was greeted with an unpleasant smell when it arrived, it also was cool to taste. The shrimp was probably past it's prime and should have been tossed. My husband ordered the cheese plate, 6 different cheeses, for dessert and said it was wonderful. I had the flourless chocolate mousse cake which was very rich, but I ate the whole thing. We know that restaurants make their money on sales of alcoholic beverages, but we found the prices for the wines over the top,
Hello Diane, Thank you for leaving a review. Sorry your entrees were disappointing. The coho salmon is shipped overnight from Alaska, and we serve 10-15 orders a day. I apologize that your husband's was overcooked. With the shrimp entree, the grilled shrimp are served on a room temp buckwheat noodle salad. The shrimp should have been hot, the salad cool; perhaps the server didn't mention that ahead of time. We prep the shrimp daily, and apologize that your's seemed off. Appreciate the feedback.

What a find! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at 626 Rood. We especially likes the tomato salad, but everything was great, including the service.
What a wonderful little gem to find while traveling! Service was terrific and the food was fantastic. The lamb I had was perfectly done with well rendered fat, and the lavender flat bread was a combination I had never had but enjoyed very much.

Love the service and the flights of wine. Food is fresh and innovative. They spaced people apart so we could have great conversations without too much commotion around us.
This our second time at 626 Rood and both times ww have had excellent food. The service was slow mainly because each table's order is cooked when ordered. Otherwise the service was excellent. i love the unique combinations of food resulting in an unbelievable meal.
There was some confusion with my Open table reservation. Initially the reservation was confirmed but I then received a cancellation through Open Table stating the restaurant cancelled the reservation. A call to the restaurant fixed the problem.
We've been to 626 twice. Both times were to celebrate our anniversary. The food was excellent both times. The blueberry martini is the best drink ever! Although it is pricey, I highly recommend, especially for those special occasions!
Surprisingly good. We travel through Grand Junction every Summer. This is our first visit to the restaurant. I picked a few small plates including fried oysters and chili relleno en nogado stuffed with lamb barbacoa. Fabulous with a glass of Rioja. Will return
Went for my birthday and was made to feel like a bother. Waitress made us feel rushed by checking in every minute. Tables are close together so you get to hear your neighbors conversation. Nothing about this place made me feel special expect I was get an over priced hamburger.
Great food to fork menu, great preparation of each dish. Curated wine flights for every taste, beautifully presented, great service. We were a party of eight. The only slight improvement was a bit excessive wait for the food.
Curtis the waiter was incredible with wine and food suggestions. The quality of the dinner was outstanding as well as the wine. Very nice treat.

They really push their wine . I don't drink so that was annoying. Service was very good until the restaurant got busy . Then it was like pulling teeth to get the waiter to attend to our table. Lobster mac'n cheese had NO lobster and was extremely rich. Creme brulee was disappointing (and tiny).I did like the bread for my cheeseburger. However,my "waygu" beef burger was mediocre.
Our waiter, who I wish I remember his name, was very helpful with menu descriptions, extremely friendly and attentive to our table. We were celebrating a birthday, and at the end of the meal they came out with a signed menu and some dessert. Overall, the food was delicious.
