Always great service from Misty and great food as always. We come regularly and always enjoy it!
The food was excellent & our server was a delight. Will definitely be going back.
I would recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking for an elegant and unique dining experience. We visited the restaurant on a popular Saturday night. From the beginning, Toni, the hostess, was warm and professional, promptly seating us, and made sure we had everything we wanted before our server arrived to the table. Our server, Michael P, was absolutely wonderful, very knowledgeable and recommended an excellent wine to accompany the food, and it was a perfect match. I took home a bottle of it! The service was absolutely incredible, and the manager, Brandon, was often present in the dining room ensuring that guests were completely satisfied throughout the course of their meals. Everything about the service was exemplary.
The dining room seating was very comfortable, and the noise level was very low even as more tables were occupied. There is also an adjoining lounge area that was much more lively, and more popular with the guests of the Inn at St. John's hotel that the restaurant is attached to. Manager Brandon explained to us that during the week there are evenings with live music, and that coming with warmer weather there are plenty of plans to provide in-dining entertainment on the patio. I certainly plan to keep abreast of these additional options which can be found on the restaurant website.
This is a very popular location for events and large parties, and maintains the experience for all guests, not just those attending weddings and birthdays. A birthday party of more than 20 guests did not disrupt the service to any other table, even though the number of servers was not increased. All of the staff were professional, prompt, and accurate.
It is one of the few restaurants in the country that provides genuine Japanese A-5 Wagyu steaks, and was the primary reason we decided to visit. We went with the recommended chef's preparation of the steak.
I have never had such a remarkable dining experience, and we will certainly be going again.
$15 steakburger cold, had onion strands that I asked to leave off of burger.
Server was fine.
Service was sub standard. We were asked for our main course order three times before our appetizers were even delivered.
All steaks were under cooked to order, which is unforgivable for a steak house to not know how to prepare a steak as ordered.
Additionally the cuts were small and surprisingly tasteless which required us to rely on zip sauce or the like for flavor.
Overall very disappointed. This restaurant may be serviceable as a middle of the road hotel restaurant but it is long way from what would be normally called a steak house.
Fantastic steakhouse. This is a hidden gem of a restaurant and worth visiting. Great service.
Food was great. Really nice filet and good apps. Service was fantastic as well. The hotel is great and to have a nice restaurant on property makes for a nice visit.
Excellent service. The filet was wonderful as well as the Lobster pierogi. Nice quiet atmosphere.
I was very disappointed with the restaurant in general. Being Valentine's Day I understand they had to accommodate a high volume of people, but I had called earlier in the day to find out if we would have to choose from a fixed menu or would we be dining from the normal menu and the girl that answered had no idea what that meant. The food was NOT appealing at all. My husband had dined here prior to this and loved it, which is why I chose here in the first place.
We sat in the Bar area while we were waiting for our table and it was great and had good entertainment! Made me wish we just sat in the Bar for our dinner.
Great food, great service, but is on the pricey side. great for special occasions. You can sit in the dinning area or the lounge/bar area, the main menu is for both but the bar also has a shared plates menu that's not as expensive.
Steaks were small for price. Short rib osso bricco was delicious!
I've been here for dinner, loved it and would go back again, but as for brunch, I will not be a return customer. Waited at hostess stand for over 5 minutes until the bartender finally noticed we were waiting and seated us. Server had good and bad moments. There were 3 of us dining, she only took my drink order then started walk away (we had to call her back), I never received the syrup I asked for, and we had to ask for our coffees to be topped off. The food had good and bad moments too. My husbands skillet was very good, but my creme brulee french toast was basically french toast..the vanilla custard was nowhere to be found, and I didn't find anything special about the pearl sugar brioche either. Bacon and lattes were very good though, and the portions were a good size. I will say our sever was very good when she realized my food was not very good and immediately spoke to the manger about it. The restaurant dining area is nice and relatively quiet.
The food was AMAZING. Everything was made perfectly. There was not one thing that I didn’t care for and I’m a picky eater. They will be highly recommended.
As always Mistie took such great care of our table. So personable, sweet and friendly. And Cassie made one of the best sangrias I’ve ever had.
Went for my boyfriend 25th birthday dinner
Probably the best steak I have ever eaten. We tried 5 sides that we all shared and they were delicious too.
Dined here on NYE. The food was fantastic, and so was our server. The entire staff was very friendly. However, our table was not cleared of some of the used appetizer plates very quickly and we were looking for room to place our dinner plates almost right up until dessert. I don't blame this on our server, he did take plates when possible, but runners/bussers were not as helpful as they could have been. But we always had full glasses of water, lol! Dinner and side serving portions were a good size, and prices were typical for this type of restaurant. My only other complaint is that we had an early reservation (5:30) and they were already out of 2 of the side dishes we wanted...which was disappointing, as we really wanted these particular sides. Love all the "add-ons" you can get with the meat options, and those of us who got filets thoroughly enjoyed them. Loved all the sides and appetizers, with a shout-out to the mac and cheese. Would suggest to others and would like to go back for brunch. Separate bar area with lots of seating available for drinks and dining.
Read a lot of positive reviews, made a reservation, had 100% satisfaction across the board, usually never write reviews, but this place definitely deserves one.
We went to 5ive Steakhouse for a Christmas Eve dinner for our family of 8. The service, food, and ambiance all exceeded our expectations. We sat at a hi-top table in the bar area with very comfortable stools. They had some specialty cocktails for the holiday season that were excellent. Everyone was happy with what they ordered and the steaks were prepared as ordered, and served nice & hot.
There is not enough stars for me to properly rate the food, very good
We had reservations for 4 at 1:30 and were so excited for their delicious steaks for lunch. They were only serving brunch but when we explained we were expecting lunch, the manager Brandon, worked magic!! We were able to order everything we wanted as the kitchen took our special requests for lunch and made our day! Rachel was an amazing server and once again, Five is a class act that goes above and beyond!! Love this place!!
Fantastic food and service. The steaks are delicious as are the appetizers. Perfect for special occasions and date night but very expensive
The food was excellent! We had the filet, along with a vegetable and one of the potato choices and everything was delicious.
Great for steak lovers. Pricey but worth it if you like a steak that's cooked to perfection. The sea bass was excellent as well. Most items are ala carte.
GREAT FOOD, PRESENTATION WAS EXCELLANT, AND SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING!
I took my family on Thanksgivings day. Great food, great service. Excellent menu. If want steak, best place in metro Detroit.
Staff are very friendly and knowledgable of the menu.
Spent thousands at the hotel over several days. Ate and drank at the restaurant quite a bit Then Sunday morning I had to pay nine dollars for three cups of coffee to go for my room. Should have been free like during the week.
Mike our server was great. Knowledgeable about wine, cocktails and food. He was attentive with great suggestions
I took my boyfriend for his birthday. We had a great time! The only issue we had was his steak was overdone and had to be redone. Everything was delicious.
Scotch mojito was excellent! Not a fan of rock hard bread, which is what came to our table. Bacon & eggs appetizer was delightful. Wagyu filet ordered medium rare was a bit overdone & dry. Ribeye medium rare was cooked appropriately. Both cuts of meat extremely over seasoned. If it’s a good cut of meat all that seasoning isn’t necessary. Server “Mike” was attentive for the most part, however, missed beer refill & another server noticed finally. We’ve had better for less $.
Totally disappointed. Service was very good. Food was less that under whelmed. For the high cost, our food was cold, lacked flavor. My husband ordered the surf and turf which came to him cold. The whole plate of food was cold. My scallops were barely warm.
The ambiance is lovely but the food was a total miss. Our server did take my husband’s food off of the bill.
Food and service was fantastic!
Steaks were over cooked and the scallops were cold. We will not be back.
The steak melted in your mouth. Absolutely, wonderful meal!
Amazing secret, great experience. Steak cooked to perfection
Amazing food and excellent service. Will definitely be back.
We made the hour drive to 5ive restaurant on recommendation of a friend. It was worth it. The steaks were prepared exceptionally. We shared the mac and cheese side dish and it was arguably the best we’ve had.
We were served by Mike. He was attentive but not hoveringly so, knowledgable about their offerings and helpful about pairings for side dishes.
The grounds are beautiful, offering an elegant but not stuffy or snooty atmosphere.
Given that entrees are all a la carte, I found the menu to be quite pricey.
Outside temp was considerably lower than prior days, but AC was still blowing in full force, making the room temp quite cool. We asked a couple of times to have it turned off, but apparently that's "a maintenance request", and maintenance wasn't around / available on a Saturday night... doesn't seem right!
J. Alexander's (our favorite) serves more distinctive cocktails, with a greater menu selection where the food is at least as good (and not a la carte), all for less money.
