555 East Ratings and Reviews
A really nice lunch!
Our group ordered from different parts of the menu.
The Chilean Sea Bass was moist, while firm. The filet was a perfect medium rare.
The Ahi could not have been any better.
For dessert, we shared a really nice lemon tart.
Okay, you get the idea. It was a perfect lunch. We all skipped dinner!
Terrible! Used to be a great restaurant years ago. We were seated on a cold patio with a heating lamp instead of inside the restaurant (maybe because we made our reservation through Open Table?) The service was very slow. Drinks, appetizer, and salad were good. However my Wagyu steak was a very tough piece of meat with gristle in it, instead of marbling. Not even as good as the prime steak my husband had. Not sure if they thought that I didn't know what Wagyu was, and they tried to give me a terrible steak for $74, or maybe they don't know what Wagyu should be! The manager took it off the bill, but it was a very disappointing experience overall.
I missed the opportunity to send back my steak when the server asked if it was to my liking... I had my mouth full and my friend answered positively as his steak was perfectly medium rare. The cut I ordered was smaller so it wasn't rare at all - I am sure they would have switched it out had I said something. Dogs loved the leftovers
We have had several anniversary meals at this restaurant. However, this one was a disappointment. We had made a reservation long in advance but they wanted to seat us on the cold veranda which we refused. My wife ordered her steak medium well and the server said they usually "butterfly" those; she asked that hers not be butterflied and he said that would not be a problem. But they served it butterflied anyway. And the atmosphere was so different from previous visits. Instead of quiet meal, we felt like we were at a sports bar with all the loud conversations.
Disappointed from hostess stand to trying to pay for this bad meal and experience. Frustrating experience and will never recommend. Actually during our recent convention was asked where we had eaten and warned folks from this location. As we visit Long Beach at least once a year, we were just trying out some new places. Pricing is what you would expect from a good meal and this is not that. Calamari was good and that is where it ends. Good luck.
This is my go to steak house in Long Beach. Top quality prime meats, great service, tableside Caesar salad, good wine list including wines by the glass. I usually rate 555 East as a '5'. Friday night was a little disappointing in that the food temps were off a little like they had been sitting on the pickup counter a little long. The baked potato was humongous but not evenly baked. Still, this was probably an anomaly. I will go back. Can't be beat for overall experience.
We enjoyed our dinner, the table next to us was a little loud and we could hear their whole conversation, but that was at no fault of the restaurant. Our waitress heard Moscow Mule instead of Moscato, but again that was not her fault but my own. We will go back again if we travel back to Long Beach.
Arrive 10 minutes prior to our reservation, seemed busy took approximately 25 minutes to be seated, but once seated it was certainly well worth the wait. For steak lovers, the quality of the steaks is excellent and prepared precisely to the requested level of preparation
Great restaurant and a long term favorite. Great food and fantastic steaks.
A lot of the staff have been there for a long time and really know what they are doing so the service is always a treat.
If you want a quiet table be sure to let them know when you make the reservation because the main room can get noisy but they will always accommodate you somewhere quieter if they can.
At the request of my girlfriend, I made the reservation @555. This restaurant WAS one of her all time favorites. She has dined there more times than she could count, from “just having dinner” to “special occasions”. I personally have been a “special occasion” diner.
Our experience was a bit disappointing for me, but for her....., let’s just say, we will not be returning. The quality of their product is still decent, so it makes it easier to put out a sloppy product, which our entire meal was. It was busy, but that is no excuse for a restaurant of that caliber to serve the plates they did. My “JUMBO” shrimp cocktail was a “medium” grade at most. Seriously? If you don’t have the product you state on the menu...., don’t serve it. You are treating your diners like they are idiots when you do. As far as our dinner goes, the plates looked like we were at Denny’s..., I can’t even give a grade similar to Sizzler!! (as far as presentation goes) In the past, when you received your plate with a steak and baked potato @555, as simple as it is, you wanted to take a photo and send it to all your friends, not today. No marks on either steak, her baked potato was so over cooked it couldn’t even be camouflaged by the toppings.
As far as the service..., very average to below average. This restaurant was known for the amazing service that was given, even on “restaurant” holidays. Valentines, Mother’s or Father’s Day...., an average Saturday night was the same as a Tuesday. We were sat at our reservation time, but from there, it was a chore. Our server seemed to have a bit of difficulty with multitasking. Getting their attention was a challenge to start, but waiting (probably) a total of 5 minutes to get horseradish and salt & pepper (which should have been on our table prior to seating us) is (again) for a restaurant of this caliber was added to the list of disappointments. I think I have said enough.
I believe the Kings should remember how they started.
This place is exceptionally well and the ambiance is very romantic. Perfect for an intimate setting, anniversary or special occasion! I highly recommend the 555 east prime steak house to all especially for first timers. Great food and menu choice of premium steaks. Their service is great as well. Overal ☆☆☆☆☆ rating from myself and my wife. We went for our 1st year anniversary and it was well worth it all! (Make a reservation - fyi...)
Arrived early. Drink at Bar. Bartender was well informed on wine selection, which was extensive. Able to seat before reservation time. Excellent rib eye and giant baked potato. No skimping on butter, sour cream and chives. Baked Salted outside of potato as a fine Restaurant does. Server attentive. Been going to 555 for close to 20 years. Always a place for steak and the salmon is very good too.
Brought my parents for my Mom's 60th Birthday. My husband and I love to come here for special birthdays, anniversaries and the occasional nice dinner. As always the staff is professional, food is delicious and overall the entire experience is really elegant.
555 East Steakhouse is excellent - although we had a delay in a server giving us attention. Once that passed everything was spot on. Great win, good steaks, good service - an excellent restaurant with a wonderful history and tradition in Long Beach. Worth a visit; probably more than one.
