555 East always delivers a wonderful dining experience. Thanks!Z
Great meals come with a cost and this one was not inexpensive.😁
Steaks were quite good, though one of our party ordered the peppercorn sauce that ended up being so hot that he had sweat dripping from his forehead as he ate it. Service was surprisingly poor, with a pretty inattentive server and a kitchen that took forever to get our meals to us. Some of the side dishes were cold and went uneaten. To the restaurant's credit, they recognized the issues and took a sizable amount off our bill, which was appreciated. This was our first time at the restaurant and other reviews are quite good, so perhaps we got an off night, but from our experience I can't recommend 555 East.
Everything was fantastic except the bread pudding and brûlée
Tried 555 for the first time for Dine LBC. Wonderful wine, salad, Chateaubriand and lovely lemon tart all for a set price. Will definitely come again especially if there’s something to celebrate!
The food and service was excellent, as usual. If you don't mind spending the money, the food and especially the steaks are always amazing!
Perfectly excellent service, great vibe, lively bar, delicious food and cocktails to die for. What more can you ask for?
Steak and baked potato were excellent. Could have done without appetizers and sides.
Best Ribeye west of New york. Chef cooked it perfect.John was fantastic, knowledgeable, and friendly. The CAB he recommended to pair with my ribeye was bold yet elegant (truchard). The Basil hayden one rock cap the night
Was amazing as always! The food, the wine list and the staff never cease to amaze me.
Incredible menu, friendly, accommodating, great service, and fair pricing. Would highly recommend, particularly, for special occasions or just to experience incredible dining with friends.
I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out medium well+ and I let them know. They offered a free dessert. I didn’t even eat but a couple bites if the steak and the $51 was still on the bill. Not great customer service but aside from that it was a very nice place and had my steak been properly prepared or they would have made restitution my review would have been much different.
I was looking for a steak place to take hubby for our anniversary and this place did not disappoint. The food was delicious. We started with crab cake and french onion soup. Both were well made. The crab cake could be a tad bit more warmer. I had the bone in filet cooked medium rare, it was excellent. Hardly see any bone in filets. It was fantastic. The garlic mash was tasty too. Hubby had the daily cuts 25oz Chateaubriand. Since it's pre cut, you only have a few sizes to choose from. It was tasty and definitely too giant of a steak to finish in one sitting. Afterwards the complimentary creme brûlée was fine, nothing special.
Great meal overall, service could be a little better. Everyone was friendly but the waiter seemed to be spread too thin and forget what we asked for often. After we order the appetizer we had to ask the waiter to come back so we can order our main course. That has never happen to me before. The cocktails were very well made, if you want a strong drink this is definitely the place to get one.
My wife and I had the best time here. They made our night special and the food was unreal. Looking to change up your steakhouse options? Eat your heart out Ruth’s Chris, Donovan’s and Fleming’s, you now have legit strong competition. In fact, 555 East’s meat was the best I’ve ever tasted. This is now Mine and my wife’s favorite new place for anniversaries and date night food spot when we are in the area. Definitely worth the drive from the I.E. Thank you again 555 East!
The best steakhouse ever!!!
Came to the utterly charming and classy 555 for my BIRTHDAY two days ago! Absolutely LOVE this place. Yes, it's pricey. But the food and service are excellent. We keep coming back because of the great food and the old school charm and decor -- from the antique wooden bar to the checkered floors and ornate ceilings. The wait staff is decked to the nines which also adds to the special atmosphere of the place. I understand there is a planned renovation happening and I trust that the management will, in their wisdom, KEEP the gorgeous and ornate nature of the 555, because its unique atmosphere and ambience are a HUGE reason why we keep coming back. Whether we are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or having a business meal here, we feel like we're dining in a historic European or East Coast steakhouse. It is without a doubt
my favorite spot in Long Beach. In fact, we have friends in town and are returning to dine there tonight. :)
I ordered the ribeye its was really juicy and tasty great meal, we had a great time I would definitely go again
Greate Service and the food was really good, defenitly will come back soon !
Steaks were over cooked and low quality New York strips. Would have said something had it not been for clients at the table.
Have been coming to 555 since 1968!! Always excellent food and service. Appreciate valet park! The only problem is the noise level becomes so loud you cannot easily carry on a conversation. Book early...5:30 to get out before the noise level is impossible. The patio area is nice but in summer it is too hot!
Our server was fantastic...service could hot be better.
Enjoyed the experience on my 24th anniversary. The waiter, Rachael was fantastic!
Felt like the server wasn't giving us as much attention as the other tables she was waiting on. She didn't even ask us for an appetizer until we mentioned it. Took a while to get a bread basket to the table. Other than that the food was great, drinks were good and the ambiance was great too. It was a Saturday night and they had a live piano player, or at least I think they did. My wife and I both ordered the baseball cut steak which was very good and filling. The baked potato and mashed potatoes were good as well.
This place was amazing an Aaron our waiter made our dinning experience that much more amazing.
Food was excellent! Waiter was very awesome! Very helpful, very friendly, and knowledgeable about the food. One of the best waiters I have ever had.
Wonderful service. Excellent steak. Our server Julia was the best. Courteous and attentive.
Our favorite spot in Long Beach! Always exceptional. Live piano is a must. Appreciate the consistency in dining both food, ambiance, and service. Mostly we get to have Gina as our server since we have a favorite table but this past week we had Rachel and we just cant say enough about both of them! Knowledge of food and the wine list is extremely informative. THANK YOU for always just the best experience.
As always, it was perfect. The level of quality never varies, and the service is always exceptional.
Amazing place! Food and atmosphere were great!
I have never once posted a negative review. Service was extremely slow, but I was catching up with a customer I hadn't seen in quite some time, so that was not an issue in the beginning. We ordered a bottle of wine, a very familiar yet expensive brand. Something was off on the flavor for the entire party, so we sent the wine back and EVERYTHING changed. We were treated terribly after that. I ordered an even more costly bottle, it took more than 20 minutes to bring that bottle out. The server gave me the taste, and I approved, and she literally put the bottle down and walked away from the table. I ended up pouring the glasses for my party. Then she did not return to check on us let alone take our order for at least 30 more minutes. We were literally at dinner for almost 4 hours. The food was good, but the experience was simply AWFUL. I still tipped her as if we had purchased both of those bottles of wine because I am a good person, but she certainly did not deserve it. So disappointing.
This is the absolute place for expertly prepared steaks. All of the food was excellent, but the steak was the star...along with our server Michael T. We have probably never had as fine a server as Michael. He made our dual-birthday celebration very special, even though we had a very boisterous table behind us. Definitely have the sautéed mushrooms and finish it with a chocolate soufflé
Size of the twin lobster tails was the size of the giant shrimp. For $55 that's all you get. Was really disappointing. Service was not as great as should be expected for this type of restaurant
Our corner booth, service, cocktails, oysters, calamari, salads, steaks, and chocolate souffle were outstanding.
Always a great dining experience!
555 never disappoints!! The steaks are delicious and the service is outstanding!
I took my husband to 555 East for his birthday since he wanted a traditional steak venue. The atmosphere was friendly and lively. The oyster appetizer was very good, although there was a bit of grit in some of them. When we mentioned that to our waitress, she apologized and ultimately took some of the charge off the bill without us asking. That was a nice touch. The steaks were wonderful along with our sides and for desert, the waitress presented the birthday recipient with a delicious hot dessert, at no charge. Overall, the experience was great and got two thumbs up from my husband, who is a notorious New York City born critic. Satisfying him at a restaurant is always challenging. We will certainly return to 555 East again, either for a special occasion or just when we want a great steak dinner experience!
Food was ok! Table next to us VERY loud! When booking let them know it was my wife's Birthday....they did NOTHING! Did not even acknowlage it!!!!
Great reception, service, food and atmosphere. Valet parking a plus
This place has an eclectic feel of an antique typewriter but the function of a new laptop. Very fun, entertaining and delicious.
This place is a favorite. It was our 4th time there and its a good drive from irvine but worth the trip. 555 never disappoints. The food is always delicious and the service top notch. It's a great start to a truly romantic evening. Guys take your girls there. You'll be happy you did.
The dinner was very pleasant. We were seated on the patio which was very pleasant and not as noisy as the inside restaurant. The food was excellent, the tuna tartar was very tasty and fresh, we enjoyed it immensely. The French Onion Soup was not to salty as they can be but was also excellent. I had the Rib Eye Steak which was cooked perfectly and was tender. The baked potato was hugh and perfectly cooked. We celebrated my wife's birthday and were treated to our favorite Chocolate Souffle. It was a very enjoyable dinning experience.
