The food is excellent. The place should be saved for occasions as there is excellent effort put towards the experience. As one knows, to totally appreciate this, one must enjoy it occasionally.
Excellent selection of steaks, and plenty of non-steak options for our group. Cocktails were expertly made. Restaurant was very accommodating with multiple changes to our reservation.
It was great.
555 Always a treat. They know how to treat a steak and a customer.
Also A bonus - NO corking fee on BYO wine
Same taste as outback and black angus but pricy and less food. Male bathroom needs upgrade, everyone plus staff uses it. I bet 100 bucks that the bread is microwaved.
Mother's Day Dinner
Great food.......great value for the money......wonderful service. Our service person.....Aaron....was fantastic and very attentive. We have been going to 555, our favorite steakhouse by far, for years and the food continues to be absolutely delicious. Great!!!
For Mother's Day we decided to go here instead of Ruth's Chris or Flemming's as we have in the past. This is a really nice place for Steak - it's not cheap nor are other high-end Steak houses - we opted to split three ways the 50oz 45-day aged Porterhouse - Medium...I'm still savoring the taste as I write this - worth every penny! had nice green salad, shared a baked potato with all the traditional trimmings and ordered grilled asparagus on the side - delicious! Our waiter Aaron was just the best! we'll definitely be back for our next special occasion - this is my go-to place now for a really good steak, service and a great meal out.
It’s been way too long since we’ve sinned at the 555 East. I’d forgotten how wonderful it is, the food, the ambience and the service.
Rachel (our server) was amazing. Although she had four tables seated at the same time she covered us all
With grace and a smile.
We both had the filet migon (8oz). I had the garlic mashed potatoes, my husband had the baked potato (loaded). Rachel recommended the corn chowder and WOW it did not disappoint. For appetizers, we shared the grilled artichoke and shrimp cocktail (FYI, the shrimp was like butter) reminded me of east coast /gulf shrimp.
I can’t wait to return. Yum yum.
Totally disappointed. I order bone in filet mignon and got something with no bone in it.
When correct meat order arrived at table the vegetables were cold.
Reservations for 8:30 PM arrived at 8:10 PM, but wasn’t seated until 9:00 PM. Wasn’t told until 840 PM that our table will be ready in 5 minuets. After ten minutes passed asked about our table the hostess had an attitude and told me to wait. After another five minutes passed, then we were seated. Then it took another 30 - 40 minutes for our food to come out. No explanation was given.
Selected this particular restaurant to celebrate my husbands birthday and was treated unwelcome. I will not ever return to this restaurant and I will make sure I share my experience and my guest will also share with their friends and social media.
Still the best steakhouse in Long Beach. The sides were not up to their usual higher quality. however, the service remains top notch. very classy and well-done.
We came here for my Mom's birthday & it was just perfect!! The service was really great & the food was outstanding. We were sitting near the "daily cuts" board & when the manager came to cross out the cuts that were no longer available I was kidding him that he better not be crossing out MY favorite cut. He was kidding back with me, and then came back in a few minutes to ask what cut I wanted so he could go into the kitchen to save it for me......AND IT WAS THE LAST ONE!!!! Now that's REALLY wanting to make the customer happy. They topped our evening off with a complementary birthday creme brulee for my Mom!! We will DEFINITELY be returning for future special occasions.
The best steak you can have in LA. The desert is extreme good. We have a pudding. Coffee is very good
Great service and very good steaks. Excellent calamari and crab cakes.
This was our first time at 555 East. We had a wonderful experience. The ambiance was just what we were looking for, albeit a bit noisy though. Our waitress, Amy, was informative and very attentive. Sourdough bread comes to the table nice and warm. We had a top sirloin and a filet mignon. Both were seasoned and cooked perfectly.
This was my first at 555 East and I fell in love with your place. I had the Prime Rib-eye steak dinner and I was in awe with the amazing taste and tenderness of the my steak! Everything I tasted that evening was greatness!! I give you 5+ Stars!!! Our server was amazing, she was very informative and attentive and took very good care of us the whole time! (I am sorry but I don't remember our server's name)
I told my husband that he better take me there for my birthday in September.... and our wedding anniversary in December :)
Thank you for a great experience and the best steak dinner ever!!!
This was our second time there in a month. Fantastic spot. The food is amazing and everything else is as well. It gives Mastros a run for its money. 10 out of 10. But don't go there. I like that fact it's not overcrowded.
we celebrated my moms 70th birthday at 555 East...It was spectacular. My mom raved about the service, food, drinks and people watching the entire time. Thank you for making my mom's birthday a special moment.
My go to Restaurant in Long Beach. The Martinis are outstanding!
When we arrived for our 6:15 reservation we were seated on the patio and were the only ones there. I let hostess know we had theater tickets for the Performing Arts Center across the street, so we'd want to order ASAP. We were given menus. Five minutes later a couple was seated behind us and we heard them tell the waitress the same. She took their orders. My husband and I looked at each other and shrugged...really? So he went in and asked the hostess if someone could please come help us because we had theater tickets as well. A few minutes later our server came out, apologized and said the first round of cocktails were on the house, which was gracious. We ordered dinner when putting in our cocktail order, and reiterated that we had to be done in time for our show. By this time it was 6:40, but we figured if we could get our steaks by 7, we could eat them and be out by 7:25. Our cocktails arrived, and we nursed them for the next 1/2 hour as we watched the table behind us receive their food, enjoy it, and get their check. Same with a table of 5 gentlemen in the table to our side...they had arrived a good 25 minutes after us and were all enjoying their calamari. At 7:15 we gave up. Mind you, at this point I was starving. I'd only eaten a salad for lunch in anticipation of a decadent dinner and that decision was coming home to roost in hunger pains. We went in, and asked for the manager. He came out, we explained the situation and he waved his hand and said: "Just go". Really? No apology? Being a mother of two with a husband who is bicoastal and travels a lot...this was our Big Date Night. As I'm sure is the case for a lot of people that go to that restaurant with the expectation they will likely put down $200+ for dinner and drinks for two - I'm sure a lot of people come for somewhat special occasions. Yet we were not only treated poorly by the staff - the manager did not seem to care our evening was ruined. Just awful service.
555 East is always first rate. We really like the atmosphere that the pianist, Richard, creates.
Been to 555 three times hen at meetings at LongBeach Conv Ctr and they are always a pleaser. I consider it a regular stop
Awesome! Always love this place
The setting and dark wood panel decor confer a sense of warmth and coziness, which was reflected by the welcoming front desk staff.
We were seated promptly with our reservation.
Our server Brad was friendly, knowledgeable and a consummate professional who knew when to appear and when to leave us to catch up with old friends over a delicious and leisurely dinner.
The food was as good as ever and we have been repeaters over the past 25 years. This restaurant is especially known for its steaks and martinis and the quality has remained consistently at a peak level over the years. A very close second would be the lamb chops.
Knowing their steaks, we tend to bring our own favorite reds to pair and the staff has never once frowned on the potential loss of sale. On the occasions that we ordered from the robust wine list, we found the markup to be reasonable and often below other comparable venues.
We have always felt very comfortable and welcomed here, whether it's for that special occasion or a business meal.
The reason we gave them 4 and not 5 is because we are comparing to Morton's steakhouse in Downtown LA. The quality of meat, sauces, and sides is better at Morton's. However 555 East was still great and delicious, but not quite 5 stars. Service though was amazing, we had a little trouble getting our drinks but our server quickly made up for it and actually helped me select a red wine (I'm new to wine) and its thanks to her that I have found my new favorite red wine. Another reason we love this place is because it's super nice inside, with a dim romantic ambiance. We came here for our anniversary, so this is definitely our go-to local steakhouse.
We have been happily coming here for 20 years ... Saturday night was no exception. We had an amazing time here. Kumomotos were delicious. The tableside ceaser was very good and not overdressed. My husband had the gigantic Portorhouse butcher's cut and I had salmon and steamed rice (cooked perfectly). My 5 year old was with us... so we promptly ordered some fries and he quietly enjoyed a netflix movie (he later shared my salmon). Our server (Margo) was amazing and knowledgeable. It made for an outstandingly pleasant evening. We will be back soon.
Another awesome evening at the 555! Exceptional service by our waitress Gina!
Our waiter was phenomenal !!!!!! The food was excellent
I go out of my way when in Long Beach CA. to dine at 555. Exceptional food, high quality service and wonderful ambience. WELL DONE.
Close friends getting together.
Great food, Great Steaks & pasta! Server was great too. AAAAAAAAAA++++++++++
Great service and excellent food. Extensive wine list. Great place for a date night.
Took my wife here for her birthday; this is her favorite spot and 555 East did not disappoint; great food; atmosphere was marvelous and I can't thank you enough for your great customer service.
555 to my taste has the best filet minion I have tried, I recommend this place to anyone looking for great food.
Great service great food
My parents really enjoyed their first date in almost 10 years. Great food and great service. Thank you again!! They will definitely be back 🤗
We had the aged ribeye- it was tantalizing!!!
It was a incredible evening, service w/a wonderful smile, attentive, prompt, awesome food & within walking distance to the theater. We give it 5*!!!!
The food was excellent. I ordered the rib eye and the steaks were cooked to perfection. A little pricey but worth it. Service was great and they let us leave our car in the Valet parking while we went to watch a show in the nearby Terrace Theater.
