The in-laws are in town and are able to watch our 2-year old for us for the evening. Great experience for a fine steakhouse in Long Beach! Great service through Lisa! Amazing recommendation on our wine paring for our main course. My wife order the 6 oz. filet mignon, cooked medium. It was cooked perfectly, even though I don’t have have mine cooked that way, it was still delicious and delicate. I had the bone in 30 day dry aged rib eye, 23 oz. (wasn’t able to polish it off, so I took home the left overs). The rib eye was incredible! Haven’t had much dry aged steaks but I do have to say that there was definitely a difference in flavor and texture. Highly recommend this place and if Lisa is working that night to help you out with your experience, then your definitely have yourself an amazing night!

Everything was “ok”. The food was fine, the service was fine, the cocktails were fine...nothing great, nothing bad.
The Caesar salad table side (list as ‘made for two’) was $12. When the bill came I saw they wrote (for 2) and proceeded to charge $24. Not a huge deal, but really annoyed me.
If fine is fine, this is fine.
If you want excellent, head to Mastros!

It pains me to give them 3 stars. This has been my favorite steak house for over 10 yrs. Management has made a critical error in the menu selection process. The steaks are still great. However they hired there own butcher which is fine. Aged beef is now ordered price per ounce. Problem is you have to send waiter away to see what sizes are still available and figure out price. We found out they only have few selections of each. WIFE was forced to get a bigger steak than she would ever order. Up-sale and frustrating to say least. She would never order 28 oz porterhouse. A steakhouse of this caliber and only a cpl smaller steaks are you kidding me? Brad had to go back to kitchen 3 times cking how much our dinner would be once he figured out what was still available. We normally buy $1000.00 gift card every yr. Thinking not this yr. Service has gotten worse although not waiters fault, he's running like crazy between each table. Others we talked with said same, probaly won't be back. It saddens me to say maybe Mastros is a better option. Hope you fix this 555.

Had a wonderful anniversary dinner on Friday evening. The food was great and the service was awesome. It is a bit pricey but for a special occasion one should give them a try.

I had been to 555 once before years ago with my parents. And decided to bring my boyfriend for his birthday this week. Hoping that it was still as amazing as I remembered(since I kept telling him t was amazing). Let me tell you, they did not disappoint!! From the valet guys to the hostess and our waitress. Everyone was so nice and friendly, they really added to the overall experience. Then there is the food, amazing all around. We ordered the braised meatballs as an appetizer, and OMG they were literally some of the best things I’ve ever eaten! Highly recommend them! Perfectly cooked steaks and sides. My boyfriend loved his ribeye and I loved my filet. The sides we got Mac and cheese, creamed corn and sautéed mushrooms. All delicious! For dessert they gave my boyfriend a complimentary creme brûlée which I ate lol he’s more a chocolate guy. We had ordered the chocolate soufflé ahead of time because it takes like 30 mins to make. And it was amazing my boyfriend devoured it! Overall an amazing experience we will definitely be back for other special occasions!

Very good meal, great service. You go there for steaks, so get them, its the right thing to order. Not inexpensive, but worth it. Service was great, waitress (Bobbie) there on a constant, but not intrusive, basis, filling up water glasses, etc. She did a great job opening a difficult cork in a bottle of wine, knew her stuff, knew the menu and steered us right. Booth was comfortable. Noise level is moderate, not super quiet but we could hold a conversation.
I asked for no salt on my steak and, unlikely too many places, they honored that.
Baked potato is HUGE.
No corkage charge so bring your own wines, they welcome that.
Recommend going there.

This was a second time at 555 East. The chateaubriand is amazing. We got the 30 ounces and divided it four ways. The potato was big enough to split four ways as well. I would say pass on the butter cake and get it from CPK. It is much better there. Also, the caesar salad dressing was not very creamy...Not sure it was worth the tableside version or the kitchen version which is $2 less.

All in all is was a good experience. Make sure the restaurant doesn't put you on a corner table. The servers kept hitting my bag and the bag of my friend, all night long...

Made reservations for 8 PM on a Friday night. We were in traffic and running 15-20 minutes late which was no problem at all. When we arrive I was greeted by name and seated immediately. I had flowers delivered early in the day, which were placed beautifully to display the bow & card.
Candle lite tables with a black & white checkered marble floor. Dark wood paneling and woodworking gives the place a very nostalgic fell. Live piano player killed it all night while we dined!
Bobbie, our waitress, was very knowledge of the menu and had a great recommendation on a wine pairing. We had the Roasted Artichokes & Wedge for an app (Both done right and perfect portions). I wanted to try a cup of their New England Clam Chowder. Needless to say, they can do seafood just as much as a steak...Our main courses were the swordfish w/Asparagus & a 23 oz Bone-in Ribeye. Both exceeded expectations.

For the most part, the good was wonderful. However, the ribeye was way too fatty and not up to what we have enjoyed at 555 in the past.

The service was non-attentive and not coordinated. The waitress checked in intermittently, maybe every 30 minutes and as a result we spent 3 1/2 hours for dinner and still did not receive the desert we ordered. Most of the entreees we served cold, and the meat temperature were not as ordered. We expected a steak house, at a minimum, to cook meat to the requested temperature.

Repeatedly, we would mention something to the waitress, such as she made a mistake with our appetizer order and we said it would be okay and we would enjoy what was served (we were hungry and the wait was over an hour) , only to have the wait staff bring the correct order 15 minutes later. We didn’t need the extra food, we would prefer relaxing yet prompt service.

We ended up sending half our party of 8 home while we waited for dessert and our bill. Our reservation was at 6:30 and we left at 9:45, thinking we could have had a better experience at a chain restaurant.

The valet attendant overheard our conversation and apologized for our experience, a nice gesture and appreciated, but unfortunately not enough to overcome the poor service expected from an upscale restaurant.

3rd visit, 1st time for my Birthday 2 years ago, date night last year and date night again this year. Every time I go the Sea bass is cooked to perfection the drinks are great, service is excellent and the atmosphere is quaint elegant and comfortable.

I wish they could offer some entertainment (live music) around the bar area because we always have to leave there to go to another bar to sit, drink and listen to music, or maybe I've always missed it if they have it already.

Food was good. Long wait for it though. Service was slow, could not seem to find our waiter and any requests weren't followed through. Restaurant was very loud and busy after 6pm. Stuck our party of 4 at a tight table next to a large beam. No view. No parking but that's DTLB. Won't be returning.

Everyone says to go to 555 for the steaks and butter cake. We had both but frankly I've had better steaks grilled at home for a fraction of the price. One person in our group even ordered the prime aged cut . He also felt that it was not a very special steak. The butter cake was nice but a bit on the dry side. It definitely needed the vanilla ice scoop which came with it. The raspberry sauce for the cake was so minimal I barely got a taste.
Overall all we thought the meal was very overpriced and not particularly exceptional. Our waitress was very nice and the atmosphere pleasant but just not worth the price of a return visit.

Good experience as always! Got to see a previous GM and it’s always a delight seeing them! Service was great, gave my parents an intro as to how it works because they’ve never been there! They also gave my mom a desert on the house which was nice. The steaks were great as well, sister and mom got a filet Minton, and my father and I ordered the Tomahawk steak which feeds two! Baked potato was great, Mac and cheese, and the garlic mashed potatoes, and the steaks were cooked to perfection! 2nd visit here was just as good as he first

Food was great for 3 members of my party. However and unfortunately 1 member of my party was asked if everything was ok as her meal had to be returned to be 'fixed' and she honestly conveyed to the hostess that she felt her food was not up to par compared to all the other times we've lunched there. What the restaurant did to compensate for this misfortune was excellent in my opinion and they handled it very well.

Overall, I was very underwhelmed by 555 East. For a $250 meal for 2, the food was just so-so, nothing spectacular. My husband's steak was very tough, even when cooked medium rare. The service started out very good, but as soon as the server got busy we never saw her again. The bus boy helped us wrap up our left overs. I wish the server acknowledged that fact that she hasn't checked in with us in over 25 minutes. What disappointed me the most is that I had called in advance to let them know that it will be our first time trying them out and that it was my husband's birthday, so I was hoping they would make the experience somewhat special. I didn't like our brightly lit corner table, and the fact that as we ordered dessert, we were brought the "birthday dessert" that was not a very good creme blulee and what we actually wanted. Basically, we still ended up paying for a dessert, instead of just getting the one we wanted (same price as crème brulee). It just didn't feel special in any way, which for the price it definitely should've. I've eaten at many steakhouses and many high end restaurants, and they've always been top notch. I will not recommend, not come back myself.

Fantastic food and service. Steak was cooked perfectly, waitress was incredibly knowledgable in their meat selection, wine pairings and was a joy. Mixed drinks were made wonderfully, and for the price I felt delivered on a truely award winning steak house experience. Would absolutely return if I'm back on business.

My wife and I love this place. Great steak house. I being a big steak consumer. Greatly appreciate a cook that knows what he/she is doing. My steak came to the table sizzling as the waiter approached the table. I knew at that moment it was going to be a great night. Great company. My wife of 25 years. A bottle of wine. She got a salmon dish. We just enjoyed each other and the food. We'll be back soon. Very soon. No it wasn't cheap, but worth every penny. Well I mean every dollar.

The manager and our waiter was very attentive to making sure everything taken care of. I apologize for my company. I enjoyed the food there very much and would definitely go back, without the person I took. Always great service!!!
