Professional service and great dining always when I come here. My favorite fine dining place of all time. I love how the servers know how to describe whats on the menu and they have personal recommendations that are on point. Best place to splurge and feel fancy and special once in awhile.
Had pre-ordered appetizer which was not in, waitress did not attempt to double check if there were such a request. Just told us that did not get info so ordered what was on the menu. Not sure what type of cuisine the restaurant was to present. It is a miss mash of all type, no identity.
Not sure if I would be try again, service was on the slow side. Restaurant was not even half full,
but still service was a bit slow, this was lunch. Not sure if I would go back.
My order for Medium rear, was over well done. Asparagus was black burn like. My business left their lobster spaghetti after 2 bit. I think this restaurant is over rates.
We were seated at a window table with a beautiful view of Diamond Head and Waikiki. The ambience is lovely with beautiful live music in the background. There is also quick on-site valet parking. Glenn was our server and he did an excellent job along with the rest of the staff. Lobster bisque, house salad and seared foie gras were all very good. Wine selection, both by the glass and bottle was quite good. Chocolate lava cake dessert was tasty, albeit nothing out of the ordinary. We had Surf & Surf and Macadamia nut crusted mahi-mahi for our entrees. Both entrees were unfortunately dry/over cooked and overall preparation and presentation for both should be re-evaluated as menu items. This is hard to say. The restaurant has so much to offer, but the entrees were a major drawback.
Poor service and food not meeting standards of a fine dining restaurant.
Everything was so delicious! Highly recommend for lunch I wish there was a kamaaina discount I would think more locals would come due to that and also if there was afternoon tea service it would be a amazing venue for that
Wonderful. Watched the fireworks from the Hilton was a nice addition.
I thought this restaurant was amazing. Really just wanted to go for the ambiance but the service from the staff was great. From the valet to our waiters. Thought this place was going to have small serving sizes but I was wrong and the food tasted amazing. Overall completely satisfied with 53 by the sea. Definitely will visit again and hopefully soon!
I simply loved this place, food was great, staff was great we had a excelkent time here: i appreciate the length they will go to satisfy their customer; will definitly return next year for valentines: thank you so much
It was a lovely experience for my girlfriend and I. The views were amazing and the food was great!
Great service and excellent food selection. Quality of food was very good, portions nice, and timing of serving courses was great.
Finest fine dining experience in Honolulu with food above Michele's, Hau Tree Lanai and Signature.
This was my second visit, this time for lunch . I brought my husband for our Anniversary. We were very happy with our experience! We had great service and the food was delicious.
We received fresh baked, warm delicious tasting bread before our meal. For appetizer we tried the fois gras, one of my husbands favorites. The fois gras was served with toasted banana bread which we thought gave the dish a nice sweet and savory flavor. He ordered the seared ahi and choi sum with potato purée and I had the crustacean sandwich with garlic paprika fries. We ended with their version of muddy buddies which we loved. As an added surprise they gave us a strawberry shortcake dessert for our Anniversary which was very nice.
We had a great experience and will definitely be back for more delectables.
Food was good, not great. Location is lovely. Go for the view, not the food.
View was nice service was great and food was wonderful.
Great food and experience!
This was our 5th attendance at 53 and true to form it remains our favourate fine dining experience in Honolulu. We began with cocktails in the bar - including an off menu creation that was essentially a margaritini... divine!!
This time with 5 x Prix-Fixe Diners as we expected the food was delicious. Unknown to the restaraunt we bought along as a first time diner at 53 a chef with 2 hats to his name. Our only constructive criticisms are: the young server describing each course was a fast mumbler who always appeared to have something else to do, fortunately Devon on the other hand was a delight and answered all our mid course questions! The Fois Gras served to two out of the 5 of us was inadequately trimmed and was too sinewy to enjoy fully, half was left on those two plates. The rest of the courses were absolutely flawless and well portioned. The young lady serving the wine accompanying each course clearly prides herself in being informed about each wine - a fact we very much appreciated.
The complimentary desserts for the anniversary and birthday we were celebrating were a lovely touch and we so look forward to coming back again!
Everything our table ordered was wonderful. The fish special was excellent.
First time. Angela our waitress was pleasant, helpful and efficient.
Bruce and Jim in the lounge were great
Lamb chops were perfect.
The food was so amazing and the view was even better. I will definitely be going back for me and my husbands next big date night!
Can't ask for more...great food, great service, very cautious with food allergies, and one of the best views on Oahu!
Best service and food on Oahu!
The experience was amazing. Great food and service.
Beautiful scenery! Everything we ate was delicious! Want to come back again soon!
We had a nice & quiet luncheon celebrating our marriage
Super attentive and the best rib eye I’ve ever had
Outstanding in all aspects...a special treat
Excellent service. All of the servers and back waiters were at tentative, very on top of it with refilling my water. Also, all of the food I ordered came out in a timely matter. I was very impressed with the service. My girlfriend said her surf and surf platter was outstanding. The crab and Shrimp were cooked excellent. It was a very much worth the money. I ordered the Tomahawk steak. It was tender, but lacked a bit flavor. The service and the fact my girlfriend was happy definitely made up for the steak tho. Overall had a great experience, bathrooms were stunning, valet and location was spot on, and I definitely would return.
Pampered service that comes off as real not fake in any way. A beautiful building inside and outside. The view was Waikiki and Diamond Head, with Al Moana park directly in the foreground. The food was excellent and unique. I had the "loco moco" sandwich which was like two sandwiches in one, fantastic and very creative. A must venue to take your honey. You will be a hero.
For location there are few places with a better ambiance; however on the two occasions I have dined at 53 By The Sea I have been disappointed in the quality of the food. It is good but not as good as it should be for the venue and the price.
The food was excellent and very fresh tasting. We had a fantastic view of Diamond Head and the ocean and landscape. Our server was very helpful and attentive to our needs.
The 5 course menu was awesome. Food was awesome all around. The dessert cake at the end was kind of dry, like box made, but overall it was really good. A bit on the pricey side, but for the occasion (Valentine's Day) it was a good time.
Another nice outing at this restaurant.
We had a lovely Valentine's Day lunch. Food was excellent and so was the service.
