    Higher quality food and service than most places. You are well looked after and they try to accommodate all your needs. It is on the pricier side but perfect for special occasions or just because! Patio is beautiful.

    Went to 529 for lunch with out of town friends, food, service & ambience worth the extra money. Were fortunate to be able to sit on patio. Staff allowed us to "catch up" & chatter in between ordering, etc. Will return for sure

    I don’t usually write restaurant reviews because I know food preferences are highly personal. But this time, I felt compelled to share my experience, because it was not good. I took my wife out for her birthday dinner, expecting something special. This place is advertised as one of the finest steakhouses in Winnipeg, but what we got was far from it. I ordered a ribeye steak, medium-well. What I received was completely burnt blackened on the outside, dry, and flavorless. It tasted like it had gone straight from the freezer to the grill with no seasoning at all. No salt, garlic, or any kind of flavor. It looked and tasted like a lump of charcoal. We also ordered sweet potatoes, which were greasy and gave off a strong, unpleasant oil smell. To make things worse, it took over an hour for our food to arrive. That’s a long time to wait, especially when you’re paying for a premium service and a meal is this expensive (about $90 for a steak with no sides). Because it was a special occasion, I didn’t want to ruin the evening by complaining in front of my wife. But honestly, this place is extremely overpriced and nowhere near the quality you'd expect from a so-called fine steakhouse.

    From the moment my wife and I walked in, we were greeted by everyone with a smile. Our server Jeff was amazing from the moment he came and took our order. He was polite, friendly and honest. Cracked some jokes as well which made the experience even better. The food was amazing and highly recommend the onion ring tower. Overall great food, great staff and great evening.

    We went to celebrate a birthday and our lovely waiter Allan was beyond amazing. First he moved us to our own private room from our original seats. He gave us lots of time to look at the menu, made amazing suggestions but wasn’t hovering or “on us” to decide quickly. We spent 3 hours lingering over appetizers and dinner. We couldn’t decide on a wine so he opened a couple bottles to let us try to see what we would like best. Then after the bill came (and after his tip…!) he brought us a lovely on the house dessert for the special bday. It was an amazing experience - I’ve been here before but this wasn’t anything I’d previously experienced. Thank you Allan! You were awesome :)
