Phoned twice...no answer. Left message on machine for a reservation then went on sight and reserved a table for two. Parking was 1 1/2 blocks away to find out it was closed during open hours of 18:00 Saturday Oct 22nd. . . Went to Hudsons instead. Should of communicated on Web site and or answering machine to customers it was closed. 😕 we've always heard good things about the food...I will give it another chance.

There was one other table (8) people. There was no competing with the music and their loud conversation. Could not hear ourselves talk. Was hoping for a nice experience/food and ambiance but was not impressed.

My dissatisfaction with my experience at 50 West stems from two main areas. The one that did not bother me as much was the ambience (or lack thereof). I cannot be particularly picky about ambience given the other dining options in Red Deer, AB but I was disappointed at the physical experience of eating in 50 West contrasted with the food and style they attempt to present to their clientele. The second point I am unfortunately hung up on is the price. Luckily my date and I had a gift card that helped with the majority of the cost of our meal. However, when I assessed the cost of our meal and the meal itself I could not help seeing a disparity. The total cost of our meal towered over the true quality of the taste and presentation of our dishes. For these reasons I would not recommend 50 West to anyone as there are bountiful options (yes, even in Red Deer) that will surpass this restaurant in value and overall dining experience.

So not impressed. My hubby and i went on a date for the first time in months and the portions were patheticly small, the price was way too high, the flavours were lacking, the wait time for food seemed like an eternity and both our meals were overcooked and dry. The only thing that was good was the service and the drinks I will never be back

We had the fresh guacamole as a starter, yum! Feature crunchy salmon with coconut risotto was to die for! And the panacotta was heavenly!

We were very excited to try this restaurant but we were very disappointed to arrive and discover that they were completely out of duck and lamb!! The chicken and lobster pasta were good. We will be back when there is duck!

Went here for a business lunch. The menu looked amazing, but what was written down was better than it actually tasted. We were excited about the menu but one was raving after. The burger with lobster had potential but the burger patty and bun were dry. The patty almost seemed like it was reheated. Tomato soup was good. Friends had risotto but wished they had ordered something else. There is potential here but it's not as good as it seems. Service was good.
