I was disappointed on the whole.
The room temp was very cold, and the noise level quite high despite being only 1/2 full. Booking ahead did not get us a great table, not even an acceptable one for the first 1/2 hour or so. There was only a gi-normous table for 8 available. We were heartened, however, to be offered a nice, small window table partway through.
I ordered the shrimp tacos and it was only after a bite into the drippy mess that I realized it was a chunk of fish, NOT shrimp. I hate fish with bones! They accommodatingly re-made my lunch. However, the kitchen was slow to begin with, and this double wait wasn't so welcome. A small kicker at the end was that each refill for smallish glasses of iced tea and coke (maybe 8oz.?) was billed - even after the order mess-up.
The beach view is very nice, but the deficits are not overcome. I won't hurry back.
Our server, Dee, was great. In fact, all staff members were friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent and portion sizes very fair. We were there from 12-2P for a business lunch meeting. It was not crowded but should be. I look forward to going back... and will soon!
50 Ocean is always my first choice to bring visiting family or friends for a fantastic lunch The view is just beautiful and the food and service are outstanding.....always!
great view of the ocean
wasn't jammed packed on a Saturday
Good service Great View from second floor window table
Quiet the staff did not rush us allowed plenty of time to eat and talk.
Great service great food. Spectacular view. Staple for upscale seafood/fish restaurant.
Great dining experience in a beautiful setting by the beach! Be prepared to spend some $ but worth it!
Great food but beignets are really profiteroles.
For the price the food was not great. The flavors were bland and the combination was odd. I expected more from such a pricey place. I’ve had their brunch before and it was fantastic. This was so so. Disappointing!
Creative dishes, attentive service, views of the ocean. Definately worth a visit.
I celebrated my birthday with friends. They were so accomadating. The food is delicious they welcomed us. What a great place to go
Great place.. but not many diners at 8:30pm... Otherwise we had a great time
The host who seated us was great, very friendly and gave us a choice of tables and recommended the better choice for a good ocean view. Our server was also friendly, knowledgeable, made good recommendations and was obviously experienced at what she does. The food was fabulous, wonderful flavors, textures and creative presentations. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Our server, David Kom, was especially helpful with both our drink orders and description of entrees.
Another outstanding dinner with excellent service and anazing views. . Food and Drinks were perfect. Service was perfect thanks to Pavel.
Beautiful evening watching the moon rise over the ocean. Food excellent, service good; one of our special places to dine. Good happy hour.
Ordered a $38 Snapper meal that tasted like it was frozen and poorly prepared.
Second poor experience at 50 Ocean. Too bad because they have a prime location.
Location is the attribute. Ocean view. Food and service average for Delray Beach restaurant row. Nothing wrong. Just not great.
4 girlfriends went for a birthday lunch and it was perfect. Service was outstanding and food was very good. Had swordfish sandwich which was great. Let's not forget the view!
Excellent food but small portions and not really worth the price. Our service was terrible. The restaurant was practically empty and it took our server 10 minutes to do anything, including picking up my card.
Everything was great.
We eat there all the time. Love the place but Must of been the C team on in the kitchen. Food was not good. Warm soggy shrimp in melted ice and it got worse from there. Definitely go back as I guess they had an “off” night.
Cindy and her boss Ted were the best. Great server and food! Thanks for. Great night
Great service and really good food, busy night at the bar, noisy. Enjoyed the window seating with friends.
The food was not bad, I think the restaurant needs to be remodeled. The waitresses were friendly but looked tired even with just a few patrons. It's not a return visit for me but it is in a nice location.
We took advantage of the Delray Dining week promotion.
The shrimp coctail was very nice. 5 large shrimp were served weith a nice dipping sauce that
had quite a bite. I had the salmon which was prepared so well. It looked rare but it was cooked very nicely
It was very moist and very delicious. It was accompanied by a pancake and a wonderful mixture of succotash. Dessert was scrumptious. They served 3 beignets which were creme filled and served with fresh whipped cream and blueberries. They were warm and so delicious. Matthew was our server and was very helpful in explaining all the choices on the menu.
I didn't feel the food lived up to the price but ocean view and service were wonderful.
Food was putstanding. Lobster bisque was wonderful and so was grouper. One of the best grouper dishes we've had.
The food and service was good for the price. The hostesses was extremely rude and stuck up. We arrived early noon and were sat by the window. After about 15 min into lunch we asked the waiter to move across the room out of the sun. He was very nice and said no problem. The hostess comes by mid move and literally rolled her eyes and said directly infrount of us “what do you mean they want to move” the sun with be gone in 10 minutes” than proceeds to huff and puff like a little kid. Aside from the fact we were a small party of 4 and 1 of 3 tables occupied in the entire restaurant this was uncalled for. The waiter was extremely uncomfortable as were my guest and I. Needless to say this ruined my entire experience and will not be returning or recommending anyone to dine here. Not the way I expected to be treated for a $350 lunch!
We have always enjoyed eating at Boston's on the Beach, but never ventured upstairs to 50 Oceans. Since this week was a summer prix fixe in Delray, it seemed a perfect opportunity to try this upscale restaurant. We dined with friends, & all of us were delighted with our experience. Cindy was our server, & she was truly phenomenal. She guided us in our selections & was right on target. The delicious warm bread basket was refilled as needed, the courses were served with appropriate spacing so we could enjoy our conversation, sip our wine, & not feel rushed. Cindy was professional, yet warm & personable. It was a perfect evening to gaze out the window at the breathtaking ocean, & our view was amazing. We now have Boston's for our beach lunches & 50 Ocean for gourmet dinners. Thank you, Cindy!
The food was great and the service was excellent. We will return a d we now have another great restaurant to go to.
Wonderful food and service as always. Had cauliflower kimchi, lobster kale salad, and chicken kale salad.
Fish had bones and was undercooked. Very pricey for what we had.
Out with the ladies for late morning brunch. Perfect find after they flew in from NJ to spend a few days at the beach. Beach view. Fabulous service. Friendly atmosphere. Upscale and quaint.Shantel was amazing. thanks for a great day!
We had a wonderful time. We will go there often. I can't think of anything else to say.
The best of the few high-end restaurants on the ocean in Palm Beach County. Food was amazing. Service was on point. Can't beat that beautiful view of the ocean.
Our server was great. We have always enjoyed our dinners there.
Amazing food, service and view! We are from New York and visit 50 Ocean every time we are in Delray Beach! If you want to be wined and dined definitely go to this restaurant!!!
Food was mediocre
We all arrived for our anniversary dinner - my parents 51st and our 23rd along with our 17 year old son. The views are breathtaking and the ambiance we perfect for what we were looking for. We were greeted by Jason the bartender who immediately made you feel welcome and at home. He was friendly, funny, efficient and engaging! Once seated at our table David greeted us with extreme warmth and hospitality. He also was knowledgeable and efficient and gave excellent advice on the menu. Once we ordered and our appetizers were delivered, our sons appetizer fell to the floor. David immediately said the cost would be removed from our bill and put a rush on another order. All of our meals were expertly prepared and absolutely divine!
As we were wrapping things up we were presented with complementary prosecco and desserts. Such a wonderful touch!
My husband and I have dined all over the country and throughout the Caribbean and this was honestly one of the best if not the best dining experiences we have ever said. I simply can not say enough positive things and even though we had plans for other spots during our stay in Delray we plan on going back!
