The chef specials were amazing. Awesome sushi. Very delighted with everything.
Special for the evening was Ono. It was mushy. Tasted bland. Not fresh and flaky as described.
I do not recall her name, but our server was a most excellent server and so friendly. She knew such detail about the menu! We celebrated my husbands 70th birthday and he complimented her on being the BEST waitress in all his 70 years. She was outstanding. She gave him complimentary cheesecake after learning it was his 70th bday. We felt such genuine warmth and care from her. The food was just prepared perfectly and presented with flare on the plate. Nice...totally nice.
Excellent food. Service was good to start then by the end, we felt completely ignored. Had walk to the front to get attention to pay our bill so we could leave. Left a bad impression.
They went out of their way to give us a fabulous table!
Food and service were wonderful.
The "jumbo prawns" were far from jumbo and so overcooked as to be inedible. Service was lackluster. Seriously over priced
Great ambiance, but food was blunt and cocktails were just full of ice... at best. I know you pay a premium for a view in HI, but this is definitely overpriced and not worth $$
Brought up memories of Chez Michel in HNL in the 1980s. Lovely dinner.
Sunday brunch. Not enough food.
Easter brunch not anything special for $50 per person
It’s beautiful but buffet was so so. Staff was very friendly and attentive!
Wonderful experience all the way around! All you could hear were the waves crashing (albeit small waves) Amber our server was fantastic. Never felt rushed and never went without want!
Mediocre food. Medicare service. Ribs were good. Won't go back.
Food, service, view and quality was all outstanding! Highly recommended!
Unless you have a table with a view, save your money. The food and service are not worth the high price
Food and service were amazing. We were there for our 5th wedding Anniversary and everyone took special care of us. No one available for Valet service, especially during a wedding event, which seemed odd. No close-in parking available for dinner guests.
This is the 2nd time we've eaten here (the 1st was after our own wedding 5 years ago!) and the food and service continue to be superb!
The restaurant has an incredible view and delicious food!
First evening on Maui. Perfect
We have been going to this restaurant for the last 10 years. The restaurant is beautiful, and the views at sunset are spectacular. We have always enjoyed the food and drinks. Since we go on our anniversary, they have always treated us special, until this year. Although we had a very nice table, we noticed that not only have prices gone up, but service has gone down. We used to receive complimentary champagne and excellent service, but this time was different. Although we would still recommend this restaurant, we were a little disappointed in the service and not getting that "extra" little treat (glass of champagne), that we felt made it even more special and set them apart from other restaurants.
We frequently stop at 5 Palms for dinner when we’re in town. The view is fabulous and usually the food and service were good. This time, the service was fair. Our table was left messy and dirty between courses. The servers seemed to be having a rough night. We ordered coconut shrimp appetizer which was bland. Our Mahi Mahi was good as was the mud pie. Overall, we were disappointed because in the past, they’ve done a great job of making us feel special and served great food. On top of that, a woman at the table next to ours was obnoxious. She was too loud and I didn’t appreciate having to listen to her opinions when I was looking forward to a quiet dinner with my husband.
One person in our party has a latex allergy. Our server assured us there were not latex gloves in the kitchen. He had a latex reaction after dinner so disappointing.
food and service disappointing. Food was expensive and quite bland. They served large portions of pretty tastless food. I was not impressed.
service was not exceptional either.. kind of like a coffee house.
for such a beautiful setting i expected better.. a lot better
Food was great. We got there at the peak of happy hour so they were really busy. We wanted items from the sushi table and were warned it would be a while. The wait was very long, probably best to know what you want and order as soon as you sit down. Husband got the eel and said it was fantastic.
We went to this restaurant for breakfast. The view and ambiance are very nice. My first cup of coffee was warm, not hot but the server was very apologetic when it was mentioned and brought me a fresh cup which was hot. I had traditional eggs Benedict which were good. My husband had the crab and cheese omelette. He said the cheese overpowered the crab, which was minimal. Both dishes were served with breakfast potatoes which were luke warm and unappetizing.
Birthday for my wife. Great view and food
One of our favorite places in Maui. Good food and ambience is wonderful.
Would always want to visit 5 Palms when in Maui
Overpriced but good, not fantastic food. At their prices, the food shoud be memorable. Waitress was not partricularly friendly and seemed to be just going through the motions. The locale by the beach and the ambiance almost made up for the rest.
Maybe because it was Sunday, it was a nice quiet dinner with great food and service. For us, it was a return visit, as we had stayed at the condo where the restaurant is located before. The seafood dishes we had were well prepared - if any complaint, they were too large. In line with the increased price for condo rental, the meals were a bit pricy. Good cocktails.
Our waiter Brian was great, thanks for the fabulous service!
Mai Tai was watery and service was a bit slow. Having said that it is still one our favorite restaurants on Maui.
5 people at 5 Palms for the early bird fish special. We all enjoyed our food. My mai tai wasn’t great, but the sunset made up for it.
Wonderful evening great food good service great sunset
Yes I would go back
Good food and service. Nice setting.
Got both orders wrong-mahi-mahi instead of ahi tuna and half rack of ribs instead of lamb.
Took $14 off the bill for the errors.
Service was very unattentive. I had to go to the host stand to ask them to take our orders, clear our plates, and bring the bill, all of which are absolutely standard stages of service.
Food was hot and tasty and served in reasonable time. Victoria our waitress was great
First time we have used Open Table
We have been here many times but this visit was a disaster for food, drink and service. 5 Palms has the best location in Wailea so I guess we'll be back and try again, but I'm very worried.
The last thing you would expect is to find a really good restaurant at the back of a condo development but that is what 5 Palms is all about. Check your car and go right in to experience excellent seafood, drinks and sushi/sashimi at a reasonable, for Maui, price. Located right on the beach so you can watch the sun set while enjoying drinks and dinner. This is a great place.
I would rate this restaurant higher, but there was an error in our order., but the waitress, appetizer and drinks were delicious. That said I will return for a Happy hour, which is a good deal. They also had a three course early bird dinner with three choices of entree that looked great. Hopefully we will have a better overall experience next time. Aloha.
Our order consisted of cocktails, small salads, filet mignon, fresh catch, and a cucumber roll. Food was very good. Service was slow, unfortunately, particularly between the drinks and salads, and again with the entrees. Other tables appeared to have the same issue. We've been to this restaurant in the past, with much better service, so it may have been the particular day we were there.
