Owner greeted us which is always a great. Great food
The service was BAD. We waited 20 minutes just to get a glass of wine and glasses of water. The cocktail glasses are very small with stingy drinks. The apps came out separately 20 minutes after that and then we sat there for another 15 minutes before our entrees came out. Mine was beyond bland but my husband ‘s was good. We couldn’t get our water glasses filled up and had to specifically ask 2x’s to get the empty ones filled. This was supposed to be a special occasion dinner for our anniversary and we left frustrated and disappointed. I’ve now read other reviews on this restaurant and there are numerous similar comments about the bad service.
Ordered edamame and was told it would take 30 minutes to prepare. Guests seated next to us arrived A few minutes after us and ordered edamame right after us - received in 5 minutes. Sushi was not rolled properly and did not seem very fresh (as my stomach attested to the next day). Employees did not seem happy nor to enjoy working there. Just an odd vibe. They also need a better wine selection. The whole experience was a big disappointment, unfortunately.
Upon entering the restaurant at the time of our reservation, we were told that we would need to wait. The couple behind us did not have a reservation. The couple without the reservation were seated before us, and not at the bar, at a table. The hostess seemed very put out. Maybe it’s just the “goth” attitude. Either way, I always find it entertaining when the servers act as if they’re to good to smile and be polite. The food came very quickly, and was decent. Nothing to go back for though. Whatever you do, don’t order whisky. If you do, prepare for less than you’re used to.
If you have dined at nice restaurants, or had great sushi, you will more than likely be disappointed here.
We come to Bend/Sunriver at least once a year and this place has become a family favorite! If you like sashimi, I kid you not that it’s some of the best I’ve had. My daughter (11) ate nearly a whole sashimi chef special plate by herself... and she’s already a sushi snob! :). We prefer to order a number of appetizers and maybe an entree and just share. Everything is really good. It is speedy but once in a while or just to come here for apps is really nice. If you have room go for the deserts. I think the banana one is our favorite but again, my mini foodie loves the merengue desert. We’ll keep coming back!
Have dined here many times. This time we started with a few items...Lollipops, Peking Duck, KFC. The KFC was a little dry. Would not go back for this, but the other two were great. Then we did some Sushi (rainbow roll), Hamachi and Nigiri, and Sake. The Rainbow was just okay. Also tried the Risotto...which was interesting. Will continue to come back. I would suggest they up their game in their wine stems. The thick glasses leave a lot to be desired.
We we delighted to discover a happy hour of sushi and drinks, all yummy and quite the bargain. We tried most of the rolls, edamame, calamari, wine and manhatten, then got another roll off the regular menu. The rolls were great, the calamari were really tiny so you're eating mostly fried breading so would pass on that next time. Our server was great!
Good sushi, nice extended menu with other fish and Asian inspired creations. Wonderful Momokawa organic sake from Oregon. Great spot!! Thanks
Great food, good prices. The hostess staff were too busy chatting to attend to questions we had. But overall it was great!
Delicious sushi and tempura. Great atmosphere and service.
Everything was delicious! Loved everything we ate plus cocktails and wine.
When I booked I indicated we were celebrating our anniversary. No mention was made of it at dinner.
Wonderful food and very nice server! We were very pleased with the food and the service!
Great food price and service
Always a highlight when in Bend. Owner is lovely, servers are helpful, and food is good!
FOOD WAS OKAY, VERY LOUD THAT PARTICULAR EVENING, LOTS GOING ON IN BEND SO IT WAS BUSY IN THE RESTAURANT. MY COMPANION HAD SUSHI AND REALLY LIKED IT.
We have eaten there every time we vacation in Bend. The sushi is phenomenal, great appetizers and a terrific bar.I love the wagyu NY strip....So stay away so we can still get a table
In honesty everything was just okay. It wasn’t bad and servers were mice, but wasn’t great.
Server was on quaaludes, drinks were okay but not much more than a shot for $10, roles were less than inspiring.
Excellent food and service! Exceeded my expectations. Definitely one is the top 3 restaurants in Bend. We will be back often!
Always amazing!! Food, drink, service and ambiance is 10 ⭐️Will be back and also tell my friends
Excellent food, atmosphere, reasonable pricing - highly recommend!
Five fusion has the most amazing happy hour food and drinks. We recommend it to our friends all the time.
First time in Bend
While the food, service and ambiance were delightful, the booth seating was uncomfortable in that there was no back support for some of us. A chair was requested and promptly brought to the open part of the table. All in all, it was a wonderful experience.
Birthday dinner for my son, hostess was great. Waiter was inattentive and focused on the other table of six. Waiter only had three tables so I’m not sure why. Not offered refills on our cocktails or check in to see if we even liked them. Water was kept filled but that was because someone else was doing that job. Was not the experience I anticipated from 5 Fusion having been there before.
We’ve lived in Bend over 3 years and it’s the first time we tried 5 Fusion. Had We known what a gem it is we would definitely have gone there sooner. The decor and ambiance is very Zen and classy. The food is excellent and our Server, Jason, was extremely professional, knowledgeable and fun.
Our first time in Bend, this restaurant was highly recommended and did not disappoint, in terms of good. Service could have been much better. We ordered two appetizers to share; the second came out but was followed within 30 seconds by our entrees. We were instructed to just eat or move the tuna tatami (a $20 appetizer) do there was room for the entrees. Clearly the server just placed the order and we were on auto-pilot after that. We really felt we had no opportunity to enjoy the tuna, and that was a negative. Food is wonderful, creative and well plated. Service was mechanical; we never really felt welcome, just that we were being processed. We’ll go back, but we will be much clearer as to our service expectations. What could have been a “5” meal was a “3.5” because of the “Denny’s-like” service.
Great sushi choices and interesting combination of flavors. By far the best spiced edamame I ever had!
Great food and location, prices quite reasonable. A little loud at times. Service seemed a little rushed. Overall, a great addition to Bend restaurant scene.
Loved the food and the service. Ambience isn't great, and the seating style is slightly weird.
But overall good place to visit with friends/family.
Food was ok, but the service left a lot to be desired.
Happy hour specials / prices represent outstanding value. Even regular prices are reasonable for the quality of what they serve. Their dessert are quite imaginative too - esp the creme brulee.
I love five fusion; great food, always good beer on draft, and they always seem to have a table for me. My favorites are the California salad and a dragon roll. Can’t get any better than that!!!
Painfully slow service, moderately good food and an atmosphere that shows they are not trying very hard.
It was fantastic, the atmosphere, the food and personnel was amazing!
Loved the ambience of the restaurant. Our meals were fantastic and service was definitely top knotch!
Great food. Our waiter was great and made the evening really fun.
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. Your not just eating out, your going out for an experience at 5 Fusion.
Some of the best sushi in the country -really. Fine Japanese technique, exquisitely fresh ingredients, and some fun gastronomique experimentation.
