Meal was fine, but restaurant was not open. We had to eat at the bar area in the lobby. Not sure why we were able to book a reservation when restaurant was closed.
Restaurant was closed when we showed up for our reservation. Turns out they are only open on weekends now, but haven't updated their reservation system.
Hotel restaurant. Very busy Holiday. Shortage of busboys and waitresses for crowd. Food was okay. Waitress did not get drink order correct. Could have resulted from language barrier. Overall manager needs to reassess staffing for the high volume on certain holidays and high volume convent.
As several people mentioned in comments, we didn’t realize it was a hotel restaurant until we arrived. We needed a place that could accommodate 6 people on a Saturday night and were happy to see good ratings and a menu that would work for everyone. We should have read the comments and not just looked at the ratings. There were about 10 total people in the restaurant yet we waited about 15 minutes for our table to be prepared, even though we had a reservation. Service was incredibly slow - although very kind. Food was not very good. Oysters were small and tasteless. French dip was over cooked. Fish tacos were bland. The gumbo and shrimp and grits were pretty good. Overall a very disappointing experience. I wouldn’t go back.
Make sure you have a reservation although we still waited a good 10 min to get seated. Very crowded during conventions
Will not be back. They closed the dining room and we sat at a dirty table in the lounge. The food was ok except for the cold loaf of bread which we asked for with the gumbo. However, good food does not make up for poor service and not being able to eat in the dining room.
It was a busy Saturday night in NoLa. Had trouble finding reservations for our food needs. Hit upon this by chance while surfing Open Table. Didn't realize until arrival that it is the hotel restaurant at the Marriott. That meant the lobby bar was full and the noise level fairly high. The food was of the quality expected from a good hotel restaurant. While I wouldn't go out of my way for another experience, I would also not hesitate to eat there if I were in the area.
Food and service was great
Delicious vegan entrees, like blackened tofu! Cheerful and attentive wait staff. Reasonably priced entrees. Please add vegan desserts to round out the menu!

We had a great meal and look forward to returning! I didn't realize it was a hotel restaurant. I may not have gone had I realized the venue... so I'm glad I went!
The flatbread and salmon were great.... can't wait to try other menu items.
We went for brunch. Best part was made to order omelette with choice of seafood. Other selections were typical of a Buffett.

The menu was exciting, the food was excellent, and the service was great. We enjoyed eating at 5 fifty 5 for breakfast and for dinner. The breakfast buffet had an excellent array of food, including mini-beignets and omelets made to order. The dinner offerings were very good, and the portions were ample. We really enjoyed our experiences here.
Was not impressed with this restaurant - the service was slow and the food was just OK. I expect more out of New Orleans.

This restaurant does not exist anymore. The man at the hotel desk said people kept coming in who made reservations. It should probably be taken down.

Customer experience doesn't get any worse. Hard to rate when you make reservations and show up to find that they closed early and the remaining staff ignores you.
This restaurant is located inside the Marriott. I usually do not like eating at hotel restaurants. I was skeptical to say the least. I judged this book incorrectly. I fully enjoyed my meal. I started with a fresh asparagus soup onto a spinach salad, and finished with the red fish ponchartrain. REMARKABLE!!!!! The wait staff were pleasant and informative as I never heard of red fish which is native to New Orleans. I would recommend this restaurant.

Small, eclectic menu. Convenient for a small dinner if nothing fancy is desired. Excellent breakfast menu and food. Gets very busy about 9 am.
I read the reviews and the entire experience was a disappointment. I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes and I think they were frozen. I ordered also the macaroni and cheese with the ribs meat and that was just ok. Also, they don't have any beer on tap, go figure.
We were coming in on an evening flight and needed a place for a late dinner. Found this on open table and booked a table at 9pm. When we got there the place was actually closed or closing down but when we told them we had a reservation they actually opened the place just for us. Very cool. Food was good but not astounding but all in all ok.
We ate there both Friday and Saturday night because they offered food my daughter enjoyed; had reservations through Open Table both nights. On Saturday, our reservation was later in the evening ( 8:30) and we felt distinctly rushed: no bread, hurried service although it wasn't busy, etc. She even asked if we wanted our dessert "to go" when we had eaten it there the night before and it was the same server. And, although our entrees were 4.00 less the second night, and everything else the same, my bill was mysteriously 11.00 more......
This was just not what we thought, The hostess was very friendly and We loved our waitress CJ, She was very personal and knew the menu, She helped us order and really made us special. The roasted chicken was very good as was the Salmon, the portions was huge. Again a big Shout out to CJ, Great Job!!
Fried green tomatoes were a treat. Seafood gumbo was good but a bit bland for NOLA. Delicious fish dinner with a subtle sauce. Waitress was attentive.
During my 5 day stay in NOLA, I ate here three times. The main reason is because it was in the hotel I stayed in and it was raining. The team members were great. Definitely try their seafood gumbo and crème brulee. Both were fantastic. And the bread provided was still warm from the oven. Next time I'm in NOLA I will definitely eat here again.
We did the appetizers and soup for a light dinner. The oysters were fabulous, the jambalaya good, service was prompt and excellent, our server was a charming young lady. Also had a Cobb salad that was more than adequate. only negative...a bit pricey for what we got, however it was Jazz Fest Week, so I suppose that may explain it. A nice place for a light supper, I would go back again.
We caught a light , quick dinner here and it was good. We all enjoyed the gumbo and the crab sliders were yummy. However it was not a place I'd want to linger for a dining experience.
I wanted to find a spot for a nourishing break after a long and hectic day at the convention center. 5fity5 was a perfect spot. Service was efficient and the food arrived promptly. Starting with the gumbo, it was excellent. Full of deep flavor. I then had the shrimp and grits. This was loaded with shrimp, again full of flavor. It was excellent. With so many choices in New Orleans, this one is a good choice.
Super quiet in the early evening (6pm) and the food was wonderful. Ordered the chargrilled oysters that rivaled that of Felix and Acme around the corner and the short rib was an absolute delight which simply fell apart on the fork. Crab cakes with real crab meat! We'll be back!
Food was delicious, reasonably priced, 1,000 pt sealed the deal. Server had a good sense of humor and was attentive.
