My boyfriend and I were so excited to try this restaurant but unfortunately we left disappointed and won’t be returning due to the subpar service and food we received...
We ordered the grilled cheese appetizer which was okay, nothing special. It’s something that can easily be replicated at home. They didn’t gourmet it up at all. Then we ordered the kale Caesar salad which was very good! Beautiful dish and fresh. My boyfriend got a cocktail which was one of the best spin offs of an old fashioned he has ever gotten. Very tasty! Then the entrees.... I ordered the seafood market dish which had 5 pieces of shrimp, 5 very small mussels and a 4-5oz swordfish served over a coconut sauce and polenta. The dish was so bland. The sauce didn’t taste like anything let alone coconut! The seafood didn’t taste seasoned at all. It was cooked correctly but lacking seasoning. It was the most bland seafood dish I have ever received. I told the waitress and she stood there quietly thinking of what to say to me and said she would be back. She came back and brought me a butter garlic sauce which was good to dip the shrimp in but didn’t pair well with the swordfish or mussels. I would have preferred to been offered a new entree instead of a butter sauce. My boyfriend ordered the meatloaf which had great flavor but the green beans weren’t trimmed.
The service was also lacking. We had two different waiters bring us food that we never ordered.. they looked very lost and our waitress was just okay. It felt like the staff was lacking training and the food wasn’t made with love or detail.
it was ok. maybe because we were the first couple to arrive but it was not at the level that I was expecting.
We had a lovely dinner, we wished there had been a breeze . The drinks were delicious and the appetizers of crab cakes, fries, grilled cheese, and calamari were great. The waitstaff was very nice as well
Food was Wonderful!!
Love 47 Scott!
We dined recently at the newly reopened 47 Scott and were pleasantly surprised. The menu was revised. We hadn’t dined there in quite a long time, primarily because the menu never seemed to change, as is typical of nearly all Tucson restaurants. There are now rotating butchers cut and market fish entrees. I chose the latter, which was a delicious and perfectly cooked grouper over a risotto. My cocktail —their signature tequila based “vagabond”—and appetizer—the Brussels sprouts with bacon—were equally good. We dined in the back patio. We suggest that fans (for heat) and speakers (for music) be added to make the dining experience more enjoyable . Thanks for the great meal, and welcome back!
The food was mediocre, the service was terrible. Because of this, the price was too high. Will not return, cannot recommend.
This restaurant is a bistro. A short menu with some changing specials served by a knowledgeable staff. It is a small place with some big ideas in food.
My wife and I both tried the risotto with scallops. One of the best sea food risottos we have ever had- and we are older people who have eaten widely!
Salad with beets and goat cheese was good too.
Wine list is ok but not very exciting. We do not think of Tucson as a wine town. You can buy many wines served at better restaurants here at Wine Direct- not a recommendation.
Do try this place soon because it depends a lot on the Fox Theater that is closed for the covid-19 virus...
This was our 3rd time at 47 Scott and Scott and Company. Everything about both places is great.
Excellent drink menu ! Food is very very good and service was exceptional!
We had great meals but a minor detail with wine glasses....heavy chunky glasses detract from the the pleasure of wine with or without a meal. I did ask for a different wine glass & our server was great at responding. In a quality restaurant why even have those chunky cheap glasses?
Understated but with a lot of charm. You have to look closely for the street entrance because it’s even more understated. In the 1920’s, this is what a speakeasy probably looked like... This place is a welcome change of pace and I’ll definitely be back.
This was our second time there and all I can say was better then the first.
Great food, Great Service............Keep it going.
Service poor. Waiter didn’t introduce himself, drinks and food given to wrong person at the table. Waiter never checked back with us.
First time at 47 Scott and overall the experience was great. The food was great, but slightly overpriced. Service wasn’t horrible.
The main was good but sides just ok. Risotto cake seemed to be missing risotto.
Just in area for a few days. Great menu options for all. Custom cocktail list was great! Bacon finish whiskey mash was amazing.
Extremely hot, as soon as you walk into the establishment. When seated, there was a dead bug stuck to one of the menus and after telling the waitress, she did nothing to make it right. Then, the menu was overpriced and constantly being rotated, I ordered my food and was then told that the meat was lamb. My order needed to be canceled and changed. Leaving the restaurant was the best feeling because then I could finally breathe with the fresh air. Don’t ever plan on returning.
We've been there several times, and it's one of our local favorites. We drop a star from the food rating, reluctantly, only because the rib-eye special was a little overdone and consequently somewhat tough. It was, however, a considerably larger steak than expected. The potato sides and the kale Caesar salad were both outstanding, as was the service.
Excellent dinner, service and ambience. We will definitely be returning soon!
Great food, nice and cozy restaurant for a date night or special occasion. Great cocktails.
Our server was fantastic!! My girlfriend and I enjoyed a few items from the happy hour menu- we both could have eaten the Brussels sprouts dish and the buffalo fried cauliflower every day!!! The chefs board was good, but the meat was a bit lackluster. I ordered the Moscow Mule, and it was just the right amount of vodka and ginger beer. Great overall experience!!!
It's not a large place but it is cozy. Reminds me of a neighborhood bar say that would be in Chicago or NY etc. My 2 friends liked sitting at the high table vs a regular size table. We enjoyed Happy Hour due to the prices. If you have limited finances Happy Hour is a good time to go. The Happy Hour & regular menus are limited in variety. They really need to add finger foods or small plates to Happy Hour.
Great food, wonderful service, and pleasant atmosphere. We will be back.
I love this restaurant. Great menu, cozy and classy atmosphere, terrific service.
First time we've been to this restaurant and we'll definitely be back! A varied menu along with perfectly prepared appetizer and main course resulted in our thorough enjoyment. Definitely try their specials. I did and thoroughly enjoyed the mahi mahi which was perfectly prepared.
Solid restaurant. Meal and food were good, not memorable
We ate at 47 Scott before going to the theater. We shared Brussel Sprouts and Iceberg Wedge, then Grilled Cheese and Mussels. All was excellent, except the mussels. They were quite small and not very flavorful.
3 of the 4 things we ordered were very good, one not as much.
Service was excellent.
Like the ambiance, feel like we are in a city restaurant.
Overall, a big thumbs jump.
Great food, great space...always a treat. Will definitely eat there again.
The fish specials are always terrific, Saturday nights was Halibut over polenta, with two large shrimp and two large scallops, delicious!!! Christian our waiter was great as well. This place is going to give Kingfisher some competition!!!
The service was friendly but slow. Food pretty good they charged me full price for a virgin mojito “because it’s the same amount of work for the bartender” which to me is a little outrageous. Never heard of paying $11 for lime and mint soda water.
Great Staff..great cocktails...amazing decedent dinner. The only suggestion I would make is that rather than diced beets for the Beet salad; a sliced and layered beet would be nicer to eat and give a fuller flavor!
Good food, good service and you can have a conversation without having to yell across the table!
This was a last minute reservation. We had never been there before and simply cannot wait to return. It was an excellent meal with great service.
Great food, great service. The drinks in the bar were outstanding. I will return.
The food is delicious, but the portions are way to big. Great service. Great place.
Will never return. Hostess (temp. mgr?? -- not sure) unfocused. Servers disorganized. Table server, absolutely the worst that we have encountered in a long time. Every task was done incorrectly. (Consider a different profession perhaps?) Menu changes were not specified. Substitution wine was not revealed - charged the same price as the menu-provided selection that we preferred. Steak was inaccurately prepared, too tough and stringy -- would need a chain saw to cut through what should have been "medium-rare." I also had gastro issues from eating here. Nothing will entice us to return. Oh, and I will never forget how unpleasant this experience was since it was a special occasion -- my spouse's birthday.
Thank you, again, for a lovely evening! We dined prior to seeing Mavis Staples at The Fox, and enjoyed our dinner so much! You have become one of our top favorite restaurants in Tucson! When we choose to dine “downtown”.....we choose 47 Scott!
Excellent food and excellent service. Will go there again soon.
One of the most phenomenal restaurants to visit while in Tucson.. A must stop for any occasion. It ability to provide a versatile ambiance is unsurpassed.. The food creates fireworks on the taste buds and the drinks are refreshingly addictive....
