One of our favorite restaurants in NYC. Stumbled upon it about 6 or 7 years ago while working an engagement in NYC and fell in love with the place. We try to dine here a few times a year and have never been disappointed.
I brought my family here for brunch before a show and it was kind of disappointing. We waited for what felt like forever to get drinks and place our orders and I really wanted a mimosa with my food but never had an opportunity to ask for one, and never got a coffee refill either. It took forever for our meals to arrive but after we got our food they were in a hurry to take our plates so they could turn the table over, which is also when I got more coffee; in short the only time they paid attention to us was when they were waiting to clear the table. Essentially the message I got was yeah we'll take your money, here your food and please leave. The food was ok.
Lovely place. The interior is already nice and the food was very tasty.
we unexpectedly needed to find a place for dinner in this area at 7 PM on a saturday, and booked a reservation on opentable for 7:30. Even so the place was quite lively and busy with an eclectic crowd. Food was absolutely delicious with an inviting menu - so many items sounded delicious. Service was attentive and unobtrusive. We'll be back !
Good service, great food, did not rush us even though it was prime Saturday brunch time
Great food and drinks. The service was fantastic.
This place never disappoints
Food was some of the best we ate. Staff very polite and helpful!!
LOVED this place! Fun decor, amazing cocktail menu and the food and service were great!
Went for brunch - delightful food- very pretty restaurant-
The food was spectacular and the staff was accommodating!
Super friendly, honest and helpful staff. Delicious and different food and they help pair wine!
Delicious food! The chicken empanadas were freshly baked with large chunks of chicken. The southern friend chicken was crispy and wonderful juicy. The filet was beyond delicious....a truly wonderful steak! Delightful owner Bruce chatted with us and made us feel quite welcome! Obviously a labor of love for him as he was there with the troops.
Always a good, tasty meal. Friendly service. Busy with pre-theatre crowd and neighborhood folks.
Consistently good food and service for a good price.
Would like to see the menu vary but what's on there is good.
Quality and thoughtful cuisine. Attentive, prompt, and warm service. Very tasty, well-crafted cocktails.
This was our first time at this restaurant and the food was very good. The fish and chips were fresh and well done as was the delicious burger and omelet. They truly care about the customer and try very hard to please. It was a delightful lunch and we will return.
Well written menu but the execution was poor. Lobster tacos were over cooked and rubbery. Filet was ordered medium and came out almost raw and very salty. The waiter didn’t seem to care.
Great experience from when you walk through the door! Very attentive staff. Food was great! I will be back again and again!
Returned to 44X10 after several years....better than ever.
Used to come for great brunch, had dinner this time.
Everyone very pleased with their choices...I had pot loin-excellent, good portion.
Great, FUN drinks too.
All Southern style.
A bit out of the way...but worth it.
Excellent food, service, and ambiance!
Excellent, innovative food. The persimmon salad was interesting and terrific; the duck was great as was the crabcake. Excellent cocktails too.
Can’t write a review because when we got to the restaurant for our reservation we were told they were overbooked & could not eat there! So disappointed!!!!!!
We went pre-theater. Even though we got there at 6, it was a close call for an 8PM curtain, but we did make it. The place was absolutely packed and very loud. Not necessarily a bad thing, but you should know this is not the place for a quiet romantic dinner. All that said, the food was very good and the price points were more than fair. The portions were generous as well. So I'd go back, just build in a little more cushion if I plan to go to a show.
Perfect for dining before a show.
I go to 44 and X Pre theatre and it’s so much more. A neighborhood gem with delicious food and a terrific wait staff. Don’t wait for theatre. Go!
Beautiful restaurant and ambiance. Delicious food.
I was disappointed that the area I was seated in seemed to be ‘designated’ by the waiters to take a break in and chat, or pace back in forth through until they were needed. It took away from the atmosphere and was annoying as I was eating dinner.
Had to wave to the server several times to get his attention - both for drinks, and the check.
Waiter raved about the roasted chicken, but it just wasn't that "rave-able."
I was at this restaurant 2 weeks ago. The tilapia was outstanding..creative, delicious...I ate the whole thing. I returned today and tried the turkey meatloaf. Was hesitant to try it since most meatloaf is dry. Not this one, it was moist and delicious. Previously, a diner told be about the red beets and whipped goat cheese with figs as an appetizer. I had to order it. Glad I did. Even the peanut butter mousse/bottom chocolate layer dessert was perfect. My hat's off to the chef. I will return because I want to try the other dishes on the menu. This restaurant is a winner!!
Went with a party of six for brunch. Food was very good, came out quickly and was VERY reasonably priced. However our server was a real drag. He looked and acted annoyed to have us there from the second we sat down. He gave us an absolutely horrible attitude and had a miserable demeanor from beginning to end. We were there to celebrate so the service portion of our meal was extremely unfortunate. We did absolutely nothing to warrant his poor attitude. It was really too bad because the food, drinks, price point and ambiance were great. The server truly put a damper on the experience.
As usual, this restaurant never disappoints. Food, service ambience on point. Great for business or just a night out w friends. Meatloaf is killer!
Had out of town guests and needed a place that could seat 5 before a show. We were seated promptly at our reserved time at a round table by the window that comfortably accommodated the group and could easily seat six. Ambiance, food, cocktails and service were all spot on. Would return.
Friendly service and quality food makes this restaurant a great spot for getting together with friends.
We took my in laws here for brunch, and like true suburbanites, they got lost and were late to our reservation. The staff was helpful, kind, and very understanding. When we finally sat down, the waiter was funny and friendly and got our orders perfect (even my mother in law’s more-particular-than-usual needs). The food was delicious and there were large portions. My in laws liked it very much! I recommend this place with two resounding thumbs up.
Great as always
We had a wonderful dinner !
The food was prepared superbly and presented in a beautiful manner
The cocktails and wine were great.
Our server Matt was professional, friendly and helpful. He was a delight and I commend him highly.
Great place—elegant, festive and comfy all in one.
Lovely atmosphere & attentive service. We were shocked at the overpriced menu with $16 soups & a very ordinary Short Rib entree for $38. Overall, if quality of food had been better would not mention.
Always fantastic- food and service are exceptional!
Food was delicious and service was solid. No idea why it took me so long to check out this neighborhood gem.
Onion bisque is amazing!!
