I enjoy coming here every once in a while. The menu is full of goodies for brunch or dinner. The staff is always there to answer questions and ensures that everything is to satisfaction. The German host is also grinning in a fetching way. Go and enjoy!
We got together with friends who we had t seen in a long time. We had an amazing meal of scallops, short ribs, fried chicken and salads. Everything was excellent, server was attentive, atmosphere so NYC. Perfect evening. Thank you!
Went here for dinner before a show and it was the perfect choice. The food was outstanding and unique, and the service was great. Will definitely be going back soon!
Very good and unique food combinations. Service is a little slow but friendly. Worth the trip to try great food.
Food was congealed and cold by the time it was brought to our table. We weren’t permitted to make a reservation for 1p - only 12:30 or 1:30- but we were seated late for our 12:30p reservation regardless. Server needed to be reminded to bring us several requested items such as drinks and condiments
Excellent Sunday Brunch. Alot of options and the omelets were delicious.
Loved the Broadway themed drink menu! Food was delicious!
I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years. The quality of the food is outstanding. Service is excellent and it’s a fun spot to watch people along 10th Ave.
Overall enjoyable dining experience. Consistently good food, professional staff, and relaxing environment
Our experience was pretty much perfect—the waiter was wonderful, the food outstanding!
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Really good to a group of 6. Definitely lots of pre and post show crowds so plan accordingly.
only had appetizers but were wonderful, great pre theater dinner
I rated the way I did on food because my meal was very good (filet) but my partner who got the duck dish found it had lots of gristle through it and for the price not worth it. Server didn’t follow up with us to ask about our meal and shame on us we didn’t flag him down to let him know. I would give it a second try based on the steak dish.
Beautiful spring day.. we sat outside and ALL was perfect!
Restaurant was comfortable and easy to hold a conversation. Service was great. Servers were very responsive and helpful to making selections and following up on requests. Food took a bit of time to prepare but was perfectly prepared (both seafood and meat). Flavors were amazing. Would definitely return.
everything was absolutely amazing!!! could not fault as single thing, everybody should definitely visit!
Everything was delicious. From the drinks to desserts! Our lobster taco had big chunks of lobster delicious guacamole and enough for us to share. Each of our main courses were delicious too. My husband had the duck and I had the halibut. Those vegetables were so good I could’ve had a meal of just them. The dessert apparently was very popular as the tables on both sides had them too. And rightfully so, a banana split was over the top!
Lovely place for lunch - it was quiet, the service was attentive without being intrusive, and my chicken sandwich was divine!
Great restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. I went at lunch and it was not crowded and very quiet. Don't know what it's like at dinner, but would definitely return for lunch, it was perfect.
Fabulous food and great service
This place is a gem and one of my faves. So consistent. The best, friendly service and the food is imaginative, fresh and delicious. Beautiful space and ambience. A pleasure from start to finish. Love, love, love 44 & X!!!
Colten was wonderful
Great tasting food with fantastic upbeat servers. Location is the only downside, but it made getting a reservation easy and it wasn’t too loud. Will definitely be back.
I love this restaurant! I try to dine here whenever I'm in NY for theater. Always a culinary delight, and a food adventure. This time I had a new vegetable (I forget the name) which is a hybrid of cauliflower and broccoli. It was beautiful and delicious. I had the branzino special, all my favorite ingredients, farro, fish, and lots of veggies. The space is elegant but unpretentious. The staff is professional and committed to providing a great experience. Bravo!
44 & X is always one of my favorite places. The welcoming yet still cool ambiance plus consistently fantastic food makes it one of my consistent go to places for the past 20 years. This visit's highlight was the perfectly cooked halibut. It's one of my favorite fish dishes but so often is overcooked- not this time. The salads were filled with fresh vegetables and light and tasty dressings. Beer and wine selection are just right.
We had a great conversation with the owner on the menu and history of the restaurant- a lot has changed on 10th Ave over the years.
Whether it's pre or post theater or for a great night out, it's hard to beat 44 & X.
Mediocre pre theater dinner spot. I thought the duck was overpriced and it did not cut "like butter" like the waiter said it would.
I live in DC. Every time I visit NYC, we go to 44 & X. The food is awesome. The service is great.
We went for Saturday brunch and the herbed scrambled eggs and cheese grits were outstanding. My husband had the hazelnut brioche French toast and loved it as well. It was quite crowded as brunch tends to be but we were seated on our reservation time and served quickly. The restaurant is light and airy but they do pack you in so we were quite close to the folks on either side. Even with that though we would definitely go back.
In NYC for girls weekend- a local friend recommended this restaurant and we could not have been more pleased!! Amazing service by our waiter, Bruno, and food was fantastic. It’s cozy and romantic. You can tell lots of locals frequently dine there. A must visit!!
The service was great, the atmosphere was also great, location super convenient and we really enjoyed our banana split desert!
Nice menu, good service
Do not sit near the bar it is extremely noisy. Overall food and service was quite good.
Expensive, but very high quality food and service. I had braised short ribs that were falling apart and deliciously flavored on a bed of basil mashed potatoes. We saw between parts 1 and 2 of Harry Potter play and it worked perfectly in terms of wak from theatre and speed of service.
44 & X was recommended by a friend and I will do the same. The staff was accommodating and delightful. The decor pleasant and the food excellent. The rosemary chicken was done to perfection and the pistachio crusted tilapia was excellent. Don’t forget dessert! We enjoyed the cherry pie, a little piece of heaven at the corner of 44 & 10 in Hell’s Kitchen! Enjoy!
Food was very good; presentation excellent
The staff were all outstanding
Pleasant space with nice view of 10thAve.
Would definitely go back again
Good experience that could be elevated to a very good or great. We waited more than 30 mins after the showed up for our reservation. The hostess did offer us a round mimosa on the house after we got to the table so that redeemed the experience. Note I have eaten here before and the service was much better.
Very pleasant experience
We were seated immediately upon arrival. The food was fantastic! A little pricey, but it's to be expected in this neighborhood. The little muffins are killer. I had the silver dollar pancakes, and they were absolutely delicious. Cocktails are very fun too.
