Great food & great service. You definitely need a reservation for weekend brunch.
Wait staff awesome. Food very very good. Came out speedy. Very very loud atmosphere.
The best and friendliest place in NYC. Love the food and the waiters. Rack of lamb was superb as well as my chopped salad. Desserts are the best too.
Jarvis is the best. The food came out fresh quick and hot!
Excellent food and drink...very accommodating when we were late due to weather...
Always excellent food and service.
Lovely dinner with local family members
I just adore 44&X. The food is always great and tasty. The chilean sea bass was divine. The ambience is sexy and the staff is great. I dine here often for business meetings and dates. I highly recommend it for everyone.
The food was delicious an service was good only thing is the place is kinda small. But overall a great place to sit an have a meal!
The food was excellent. My pistachio crusted Tilapia was served piping hot, and was truly delicious. The service was excellent. The roasted beet terrine starter is wonderful. So is the apple pie and the chocolate cake we had that was light and mousse-like. A lively, festive place to share a meal.
Our party of 4 (myself, my husband, and our adult son and his girlfriend) really loved this place. It was our first time there and we notably enjoyed absolutely everything we ordered! Usually, restaurants don't seem so consistently spectacular to us. Also, I found our waiter to be very charming and friendly ... not too cloying. He has a great smile!
Seated half an hour after our scheduled reservation time. No time for a drink before or dessert after the main before show time nearby. LOUD!
I love this place! The wait staff is the best ever. Utterly charming. And they sing the most beautiful Happy Birthday in all of New York City. Oh yes - food and drinks are good too.
Great drinks and wonderful service
Top notch service and excellent food. Highly recommend this place.
Always great atmosphere food and service at 44&X!! Can't go wrong here! Take the time to walk to 10th Avenue and you will NOT be disappointed!
Second visit, not again. Food was mediocre, overdone. Noise level did not allow for conversation with friends. Snippy hostess at door.
Second visit to 44 & X, disappointed in service this time. We seem to have been ignored by the server and he lacked any real enthusiasm for his restaurant. We had been so WOW'ed by our service last December that I had hoped that it would be another such occasion. The food was excellent and the value very good but I would be much more cautious taking another couple there again. Very noisy and difficult to move through the place. All that being said it is well worth a visits.
Good food and friendly service . Unfortunately it was so noisy it was difficult to hear ( we were a table of 6) that it took away from the experience
I had heard wonderful things about 44 & X and although I loved the space and the location, I found the food just OK. I had a burger which was overcooked and served on a tiny English Muffin (they make Sandwich Size ones, which I have had at other restaurants which would have been much better.) It was also so tall that one bite and everything fell off the burger onto the plate so I had to eat it with a knife and fork. The french fries were overcooked and had very little flavor. My husbands steak was tough, and had the same issue with the fries. Our friends had the meatloaf, which they loved and fish which also received high marks. I will probably try the restaurant again, as the location is convenient for pre-theatre eating, but I was very disappointed to spend so much money on dinner and walk away thinking the food was so unremarkable.
Price a bit expensive but it’s NY ! Quality and kindness wonderful.
the food was amazing! come here! the chicken sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I have ever ate! come here for a great lunch date!! :)
Great food and service! Very comfortable atmosphere! We go a lot and have always had a yummy meal.
Great restaurant but it would be nice to have more Vegetarian and Vegan Options. The menu hasn’t really changed that much it over 10 years.
we've been to the restaurant many, many times and have always enjoyed good service.
The service on this occasion was not up to par. The waiter seemed to be rushing us out from the moment we sat down and even failed to notify us that there were specials that night. The only way we learned of the specials was when he read them to the table next to ours. By that time we had already placed our orders.
I'm hoping this was an aberration.
Lovely brunch and cocktails, and generally great service - although I felt the manager was a little brusque with some patrons as he paced the restaurant encouraging diners who had finished-up to vacate their tables!
Felt like we were being rushed...but that could be because the table to the right of us were “kindly” told that their table was needed after they finished eating , and the people to the left of us were asked to move over a table because their table was needed to push together with another table. Not to mention the large group behind us that was stared down ( one woman from that party did complain but the manager didn’t seem to care.) I understand that they like to try to get their patrons out on time for the shows but it was obvious that all that was wanted from us was to eat, pay and leave.
Really was nice until the a-hole manager gave is the hurry up and get out move despite 4 tables available. Miserable experience. Won’t be back.
4 X 4 for dinner only. I have previously eaten dinner here before so decided to try the brunch. I found it underwhelming. While dinner wait staff are professional the brunch staff seems to untrained. Our waiter couldn't answer basic questions like what came with the omelet. Food and portions are only okay and the tables are jammed so closely next to each other that people can hardy move. It was our joke with the surrounding tables that the individuals closest to the wall were trapped until they all finished and could move in unison.
My advice is that they do a nice dinner but skip the brunch as too many better options exist.
Never disappoints. Excellent food, service, the whole team from chef to waiters to hosts make for a stellar dining experience. Creative cuisine beautifully prepared, a delight for the palate.
Food was delicious but vegetables came out cold. Manager compensated with free tray of cookies
The food is outstanding ! The service is great ! I definitely recommend 44 & X
Outstanding in all regards. A breath of fresh air to visit a place that is "hitting on all cylinders" at the same time. Would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone anytime! A must!!
Food was great. The coffee at the end was slightly burnt. That’s my only negative experience. Everything else was great!
Had an excellent meal here on Thursday night. Restaurant was very busy but service was still great - everyone really friendly. I’m from the UK but always come here when visiting New York.
The restaurant was awesome. However, it was for a business meeting and the noise level was very loud. Great place for a friendly and lively dinner - but I'd not recommend for a business dinner.
Good fun. Nice service. Had lovely wine so I cannot comment on the cocktails. We ate early and at first it was fine, but wow did it get loud as the evening went on. However, we were never rushed and I would go back. Nice find.
Had lunch with a friend at this restaurant. Sandwiches were very good, pricing was very reasonable.
Lovely lunch. Food was great. Service was good. Great place to go near the theater district for a very relaxing lunch or dinner.
