We had dinner here before seeing Moulin Rouge on Broadway. The decor is very cool and inviting. The staff was extremely friendly and took good care of us. My husband had the turkey meatloaf and loved it! I had the rack of lamb and it was also very tasty. We would have dinner here again.
Try the specials, you will not be disappointed. fabulous pre theater restaurant!
We really enjoyed the creative menu and the food. However several tables were late getting their food and had to hustle to the theater. I would go back after the performance next time rather than before.
There was a birthday celebration next to us and they sung a lovely rendition of happy birthday for them.
Great food, wonderful service and OPEN FOR AFTER THEATER! Best chicken quesadilla anywhere!
Good food and good service. "Broadway" themed cocktails were fun too. The only thing that was challenging was the noise level. It was very loud and hard to hear the other people at our table. Good choice for pre-theater dinner (they had us in and out in plenty of time to catch our show).
44 & X was recommended by a friend, and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent, the service was very good, and the drinks were excellent as well. The only thing that was slightly disappointing: we were seated outside (which we requested) at a tiny table up against a wall. So it felt cramped, especially for the money we spent. But, eh, it's New York, and everything is cramped there.
A great pre-theatre spot with attentive service, very good food, and a well-priced wine list. The portions are large - easily big enough for sharing - so we were glad to be very hungry on arrival. We enjoyed the Oregon Pinot Gris with the rock shrimp raviolo, hamachi sashimi, and chicken quesadilla. The lemon sole had lots of fall vegetables - a very nice treat. All of the entrees were delicious as was the trio of sorbets for desert.
The food at 44 the entree was amazing!!! The only downside to 44 & X was that they have entirely too many tables jammed in too close together. I found it uncomfortable being that close to the people at the next table. Otherwise, it was probably one of the top three restaurants i’ve ever eaten at!
Overall excellent experience. From beginning to evenings end. Thank you Ray , our waiter. Wonderful!
I and five other family members had brunch at 44 & X this past Sunday. I have to say that the food was excellent. We all had something different and we all enjoyed it. The french toast was fabulous. My husband had Eggs Benedict which was great. From where we sat, we had a great view of the streets as the windows are large. The seats were very comfortable and clean. The waiters were very attentive and always came back to be sure we had everything we needed. It was not a long wait for the food, and came just in time as we finished our brunch cocktails which were also delicious. The place was packed from the minute it opened so be sure you make reservations as we did. Even though every table was filled, the service was great. Also, just as an aside, the bathrooms are also clean which is always a plus!
Very friendly staff, food was excellent, unique menu choices.
Great food and staff. We ate between shows and wish we could have stayed longer.
A repeat diner to 44 & X. I really like the diversity and options on the menu. The outdoor seating on a beautiful night made the experience that much more enjoyable.
Enjoyed Brunch on Sunday. The eggs Benedict was very good. Our daughter said the waffles were good and my husband had an omelet that he enjoyed. Loved eating outdoors as the weather was beautiful. Only thing we had a problem with was the seating that was a little tight getting in and out since the tables are so close to each other. The staff was wonderful and didn’t rush us at all. The restaurant was 2 and 1/2 blocks from the theater we were going to which was very convenient. I would recommend 44 X 10 for anyone looking for a relaxed Sunday brunch.
Staff so friendly and helpful. Food amazing. Decor very nice.
Great spot great location
Very disappointing, mostly service-wise. Food is good without being exceptional.
We were celebrating a 93 birthday and the staff was very gracious despite the fact that our elderly took forever to do anything, whether it was to order, eat or use the facilities. The food was delicious and consumed with vigor.
Good brunch, great cocktails. I’ve been way too many times to this restaurant. Love it!
Never disappoints: drinks, food, service, atmosphere.
Went to this restaurant after theater, not very busy. Good selection of entrees on menu, also wide selection of drinks. Waiter was very attentive and efficient. Recommend this restaurant to others
Beautiful night sitting outside with excellent waiter and food/drinks. Love this place and eat here every time I’m in NYC🍎
Loved the ambience, very clean & neat. Food was great & service was professional & friendly.
The room is open and light and the menu has a good set of creative options but it’s expensive. Expect $30 entrees and $15+ apps. Service was pleasant but spotty. I would return on a slow night.
Great for before a Broadway show. Close enough to the action but not as much as the regular theater crowd that you get at somewhere in Times Square. The staff are good at getting you out in time to make it to your show.
Good food and drink. Attentive service. I had the roast lamb with fingerling potatoes. Flavorful and cooked to perfection. Wife had the lobster taco appetizer as an entree. she liked it and thought it was filling. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars across the board was that we paid a premium price and ate outside. It was pleasant but not posh.
This has become our go to restaurant for birthday and other celebrations. It never disappoints.
Solid choice for Hell's Kitchen. Food was good, location is good for theater goers.
I moved to New York in January and 44 & X has quickly become one of my favorite spots to dine out since then. I’ve been there three times and each time I swear that it just gets better and better. The food is amazing! My favorite is the seafood ravioli on the starter menu. The entrees, while more expensive, are equally as delicious and the portion sizes are generous so you are getting a good meal for what you pay. Try the chocolate soufflé for dessert - it is heavenly. Some tips: eat on the patio or try to dine at a non busy time if you’re sitting inside as the dining room can get very noisy. I sat inside once and it was very hard to hear the other people at my table due to how loud everyone else’s voices were in the room.
Was looking for a restaurant in the theater district and thought we’d try 44 & X. Am I glad we did. Everything was absolutely delicious. There were 4 of us and all our dishes were great, especially the short ribs and meatloaf. Even the salad we ordered for the table was special. Waiter couldn’t have been nicer and he made sure we were done eating in time to get to our show. We will return
Food was excellent and they have outdoor seating - wonderful, friendly service
The food was great and service good. I do have to say that my table was directly beneath an air conditioning vent which caused our food to get cold quickly.
The food was delicious, our waiter was very helpful and attentive.
Excellent experience at 44 & X. When I return to NYC will definitely visit again.
Mahi-mahi was over cooked. I was brought a new mahi-mahi cooked perfectly. Wines by the glass very expensive and entrees were a bit expensive also. Fried chicken dinner was very good. Still don’t get why waffles and syrup are served with it on the side. Good service and great ambience.
The interior of the restaurant is simple and elegant, and the menu offered so many diverse choices. The bisque of Maryland lump crab, Louisiana crawfish, melted gruyère cheese was a lovely dish to start with wonderful flavor and a nice blend f crab and crawfish. The macaroni and cheese was cooked well, baked just enough, but the garlic was overpowering. The chicken had more small bones than usual, but overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with attentive service.
Always good food and great service!
Outstanding brunch place. Dinner menu looks amazing and we can't wait to go back.
Excellent restaurant! Beautiful light, gorgeous staff, amazing food et delicious cocktails!!!
The only suggestion: bring a pullover... too cold inside!
This was my 3rd visit to this restaurant in the past year. 2nd for dinner and 1 time for brunch.
While the restaurant does have food that is quite good, they really really need to do something about the acoustics in there!
I've never said this, but it was impossible to speak to others across the table at times.
It is a smaller restaurant inside and there are many options that I believe they could do to take care of this problem.
In addition, while the food was quite nice, I think the pricing was a bit high all things considered.
Hoping to go back at some point to be a bit more wowed and hear conversations better
