Great food. Terrible waiter, totally incompetent. Another server took over for him and dinner was much better after that!

We settled for 44 1/2 when Sardi’s and La Maceria and Nino’s were all booked for dinner before a show. We were delighted with the menu. Decided on chopped salad (incredible) to start, and crab stuffed snapper (yummmmmm) and filet mignon (precisely cooked and buttery) for entrees. Blue cheese stuffed olive martinis for cocktails. Outstanding. A++. A little dark and crowded, but interesting space. Service was great until “over easy” disappeared and it took way too long to get our check. Husband went register to pay after waiting 20 minutes for waiter. Would recommend based on food, but service needs to stay on track.

I took a group of 8 to 441/2 and the table was ready- service incredibly attentive and food incredible. Three of the group had the filets and they were perfect, potatoes delightful. The rest of us had great seafood features. They have a killer stuffed snapper and great swordfish. Would go again! Environment is lovely as well.

Stopped in on NYE and weren't sure what to expect. Had a fantastic (like really really good) meal, and it wasn't overly crowded. Great way to close out 2017 with my S/O. The service was excellent, and the drinks were tasty with the right amount of strength. It was a bit pricier than what we normally go for, but the food and service made it worth it, particularly for a special occasion.

Red snapper stuffed with crab was excellent. My friends had steak frites and the duck, which also looked good from my perspective. Apparently the fries with the steak frites were kind of soggy, but otherwise the meal was great.

Our “be sure to always go to” restaurant every time we visit New York. The owners, Scott and Bruce, are the best and do an impressive job of delivering great food and drinks at a reasonable price for NYC. You can’t go wrong at 44 1/2 or the slightly more upscale 44 & 10 which is next door.

Best homemade lobster ravioli in the city. Orange vodka martini started the evening and warm autumn apple pie with gelato concluded it. Awesome experience.

This is a lovely place. IN the summer you can sit out on the patio, and even in the fall and winter there are heaters out there. Excellent service, and good food. A great theatre meal location away from the Time Square madness.

$4.00 for a cup of tasteless coffee!!! Of course you don’t come to find out how much you will Be charged until you get the bill. My advice to others will be to skip the unreasonably expensive bad coffee!!!

Server was good, but the manager and the host were super rude and sassy. They originally stated that they would not be able to honor the reservation because they were having “issues” with reservations on open table. Very unprofessional. They didn’t even say bye or thanked us when we left Not sure if I’ll be back.

The food was delicious and the waiter was excellent. We shared a Caesar Salad and the House Made Toasted Potato Gnocchi. The gnocchi was in a Parmesan Black Truffle sauce and lightly toasted, and it was absolutely fabulous!
My hasband has the Long Island Duck Breast, done medium rare, and raved about it. I had the Sautéed Halibut, and it was scrumptious. The wine selection was nice as well.
I would highly recommend dining here!

I hosted 11 people for a business dinner. Service was good, wine list was short but enjoyable (order the Pinotage). Everyone enjoyed their meal from starters & salads, main dishes (most had fish) and desserts were wonderful.

The food was all very good. Presented nicely. Tasty and varied. The only complaint was we were a party of three, who got there before it filled up for the evening (intentionally), yet we were seated at a table for essentially 2 plus a third seat which butted up against where the staff had to come for silverware. So it was not comfortable. And I think you better know what you want, because while our service was good, the recommendations ("they're all delicious") was not exactly matching expectations.

Dinner was good and I particularly liked the marscarpone polenta. However, the restaurant is far too dark to enjoy eating the food and reading the menu. Please put more light into the dining area.

We love 44 1/2 I think the funniest bet was that we made the reservation being the New Yorkers and our friends I came down from Connecticut unbeknownst to us had actually been there before. It’s just a great great restaurant specially when you have friends that are really picky.I recommend 44 1/2 to everyone

Amazing food, very chill ambiance and service was great! The tuna tartare was amazing as was the KOBE beef quesadillas. Dirty martinis were just right. Not to mention that they sell the cutest printed T-shirts which waiters sport. I walked away with two of my own. Definitely will be going back.

Food was quite nice, halibut was delicious. However, the decor is weird. They need to lose the pink string lights, amporphous seating arrangements, and we didn't get the T-Shirt graphics everyone was wearing.
