42nd Street Oyster Bar Ratings and Reviews
As always, 42nd Street Oyster Bar was delicious!! We started off with a cup of seafood bisque, which was creamy and so good. I ordered the crab cakes per usual. I’ve only had them because I can’t bring myself to order anything else. Everyone else enjoyed their entrees as well - fried shrimp, crab legs, and ahi tuna. Can’t wait to go back!
It was great as always. It was a little busy as everyone had been locked inside for 3 days because of snow. However our waitress was outstanding even though we were a party of six. The two couples we were with had never been to the restaurant but I can assure they will be back. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening!
Got seated in a timely manner, the waitress was excellent, gave good recommendations, appetizer was great & the food was delicious. Was offered a birthday dessert, low noise (Sunday night reservation for 8 people at 5:00) would definitely recommend to friends, fun Place!🎉😀👍🏼
Love dining at 42nd Street! The food and atmosphere are always great. We stayed for live music which was fun but there was barely any space because of the bar tables . You couldnt dance and because of the area people banged into you trying to squeeze by. I wish they would move the tables, there are only 3 of them to make more room. You couldn’t order drinks in the space and it was just super crowded so we left early.
We informed you in advance this is a dual birthday celebration for 2 women, who both love & only once in blue moon get to enjoy eating a nice juicy lobster. Surprise, you no longer offer whole boiled lobster, offering up the lame excuse "the tanks keep breaking"! $35 for a half pound tail, which wait staff couldn't tell us if it was fresh or not. Arguably, the best meat of lobster is the "Claws". Appetizer Scallops were dry, however those within the meal were good, as were the oysters. We chose to order and share -Vs- each getting meals. No birthday recognition was aknowledged, (even after 1 of the women readily shared), a cupcake or something may have nice, especially after they'd learned of our tremendous disappointment. If you want oysters go, expect to pay, but 2 hours inland has value. Any other seafood - call me, I'll figure out a better meal, even if that means paying freight to airlift it in.
We went here for New Years dinner before a concert. The environment was great. Very cute place. Our oysters were amazing. Unfortunately our entrees took forever and the salmon was burnt when we got it. They very nicely took it back and made a new one but by the time it arrived we were done with our other food and had to leave for the concert. We were offered free dessert but declined because we were in a hurry. No other accommodations were offered.
We LOVE 42nd Street. It is one of our favorite date night spots in Raleigh. The service and food is always of high quality and we love eating local seafood. I always recommend this restaurants to people visiting Raleigh or who have recently moved to the area!
My wife and I dined at the 42nd street oyster bar for the first time as we celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary. The food was exquisite, the service was A-1, very clean, nice ambiance, upscale, and overall so so good! Now on our list of special places for date night.I have been raving to everyone I know about this experience and can hardly wait to go back.
Service and food were exceptional! This is our go to spot for celebrations and this visit did not disappoint. Thank you for accommodating my special request for a booth. It seems to help with my dads hearing to be slightly off the main floor and We all appreciated that. See you soon!
