Buffalo Fried Oysters
Bleu Cheese and Celery
The Cajun food seemed to have been double dipped. Over spiced. The waitress did not as to get it recoooked.
Very nice dining experience, the service was very good..the food is very good! I am not a seafood lover but my daughter is and she loved the crab legs!
Our favorite restaurant in Raleigh.
Consistent good service and food.
Excellent service. Tasty dinner. Oysters were fabulous and fresh; raw and roasted. Wish they had a more creative fish selection. Too limited fish dinner offerings.
This is an outstanding dining experience. I continuously bring my out of town guest to 42 Street. I have never been disappointed. Everyone has their choice of meals and each expressed how delicious their choices were. I highly recommend 42 Street as a no fail dining choice in Raleigh. From San Francisco to Florence Italy, the cioppino was the best I have ever
eaten. Great dish and great place.
Disappointing...waitress was inexperienced. We had to ask for silverware, straws, napkins, refills. She ruined our night. I had a combination 3 items seafood platter $26. Flounder was too light in color, a few popcorn shrimp, and 2 scallops. The food was bland. No seasoning AT ALL. This was my go to spot whenever we go to Raleigh. No more. $112.00 wasted.
Really appreciated that the staff made accommodations for my in laws who have some mobility issues. Our server was so patient and made us feel very comfortable.
This spot never disappoints and has a very good atmosphere.
42nd St. Oyster Bar is a great place for a birthday celebration. Delicious food, warm and friendly staff service!
The food and atmosphere is alway exceptional here.
good atmosphere. good service. most of the foods are good.
Great great great great!
It was a great birthday celebration diner for our family!
First time there and thought food was not as good as it could be. Oysters were dry (I like for the brine to be left), tuna appetizer was overcooked, ordered snow crab and they were barely warm. Beer was good, but not sure I will go back.
Amazing food at a great price with a fantastic atmosphere
Once again, we had a wonderful experience here! This is one of our favorite restaurants when we come in to town, The service is great. The vibe is really alive and fun.
The appetizer special was $1 raw oysters from VA. They were amazing! So was everything else about the meal. Thank you.
Amazingly, consistently good. We have been eating here whenever we are in the area, and they have managed to maintain very high standards for over 30 years. Well done
Our sever was great! Very attentive and friendly
We were very disappointed that the hostess refused to seat us in a booth.
She told us that all the booths were reserved for diners with children.
However the entire time we were in the restaurant, there were 4 to 7 OPEN BOOTHS. The entire time we were there NO PARTIES with children were seated. So, we had an undesirable table while surrounded by open booths. Sad!
And the food was not extremely hot.
But the server was attentive.
The cost of the meal continues to increase.
We’ve been customers for 30 years.
Maybe no longer.
Clam chowder was too thick and peppery. Service was very good.
Disappointed. Scallops were tasteless.
Great food, good Waite staff …………………………………………………….
disappointed ask for a booth in reservation was sat at a table and there were several booth that were never used. Menu changes were disappointing.
Everything was great
My waitress was very friendly and helpful she did a wonderful job
Portion size for the money is very small. This is the type of joint that hasn’t changed in fifty years. Sub par food and low value with very little creativity. Meh.
We had to wait for a table to be ready, but the staff were so helpful, and the food so delicious it didn't really matter.
Raw oysters were fresh and outstanding. Our entrees were also excellent. Service was efficient and friendly.
Outstanding service. Food was just so-so. Maybe just a bad night.
We brought our out of town friends here because it’s one of our favorite restaurants. They loved it and can’t wait to come back. The only problem we had was the shrimp and grits was waaay too spicy. We’ve ordered it in the past and it was not nearly as spicy. Our friend had to send it back and order something different. Our server, Marybeth, was wonderful.
This used to be a favorite. Really gone downhill with food quality and service. Don’t know if we will continue to return.
Our waitress was amazing! She was taking care of 6 tables at once. She was courteous and efficient.
We had a wonderful experience. Oysters and all our other food was delicious. Nice wine selection. Sarah did a great job waiting on us. We will be back!
Service was fine – our waitress did a good job despite understaffing for the evening. The food was just not good this time. Everything was over-seasoned– over salted or over peppered, and just very disappointing overall
The stuffed flounder was very thin. All of the food was ok, but I ended up sending my dish back. The restaurant did honor our request of a quieter booth for my mother's birthday.
We had a very nice dinner with cocktails and desert. Excellent place to take a loved one for a birthday dinner they won't easily forget.
Cool place my steak was a 7 out of 10 otherwise had a great time
Wanted steamed oysters but was sitting in a both so waiter said no steamed unless sitting at bar. Bar next time.
Minus the salad the food was great and the waitress was very good. The lettuce was old as it had a lot of brown on it. Don't know if this was due to shortages or not.
We had not been to this restaurant in over 2 years and it did not disappoint! The Food was delicious and the ambience was great!
