We invite you to join us for dinner tonight!
“Eat seafood … live longer
Eat oysters … love longer
Eat clams … last longer"
Always great seafood!
Every visit has been consistent with great food and good service
The staff was very accommodating with our reservation change. We were seated immediately, and a server took our drink orders. Three of us ordered the same dish -Cornmeal Crusted NC Mountain Trout. Good sized portion, but the fish was bland. It really needs the addition of spice. Our server was great.
Smallest, thinnest piece of swordfish I’ve ever seen! If it was cut any thinner it would have to have been cut by a laser.....
Too small for $33.95......
This famous place is resting on its laurels and concentrating on margin. Sadly, we have likely eaten out last meal here......
I ordered the ribeye and I thought it was very dry and seemed like it was a little old. not fresh also had fried oysters I thought were dry as well. been there before and it was good this time not so good $270 you expect better.
Great food and excellent service!
The inability to modify dishes for dietary restrictions isn't customer service. Overdressed, soggy salads are unfortunate. Pro tip-dry your lettuce before dressing it and use less dressing.
Great atmosphere. Absolutely fantastic.
We have come to 42nd St. Oyster Bar for years, mainly for special occasions. We always love the seafood, atmosphere and staff. We hope the place never changes.
Salmon was delicious! Enjoyed special birthday treat also - key lime pie.
Had a wonderful evening with excellent service from Carley.
Great food. Wine list and prices need work-not great choices and pretty pricey. Server was good but table next to us had really unhappy children with a mom getting no support.
We are always happy with 42nd Street! Service, speed, accuracy, and price are great!
Clam Chowder soup was cold. Fried shrimp was barely fried.
Very consistent in quality of food, service, and ambiance. You can depend on it!
This was an awesome experience with good friends before a concert. The food and service was outstanding. We enjoyed many apps and yummy salads. It may have been too early for our oysters. It was a very enjoyable evening.
Great food. Great service. We even got steamed oysters sent out to our table in the dining room! Never had that happen before, so a big thanks to the manager there.
Excellent food and drink. Our waitress was very personable......all around great time!
Celebrated my anniversary and everything was great
What a great birthday! Everyone was able to pick something that fit their exact taste.
We enjoyed a family meal at a Raleigh classic. The seafood was fresh and prepared expertly. The service was outstanding. It was a wonderful stop on our way to Greenville.
Overall a good experience. Had reservations and we seated promptly: wait staff was friendly and helpful; food was delivered fairly quickly. I ordered Wahoo which was overcooked but my husband had fried oysters which were very good. We both had seafood bisque to start which was delicious.
Great food and service a Raleigh tradition
We celebrated our anniversary. Tiffany was our server and did an outstanding job. The food was excellent!
Always such great service and amazing food at 42nd Street Oyster Bar !
It’s was my wife BD and she enjoyed the seafood .
Love this gem!! Delish seafood and steak. A must when visiting Raleigh
42nd Street continues to be one of our favorites and is the place we like to take guests - especially out of towners.
Service has always been great and continues. Increasing menu prices challenge the value rating.
It’s no surprise this spot has been beloved by so many for decades. They truly do serve the freshest seafood, always! Everything, from Ahi Tuna, to house made crab cakes packed w/ crabmeat to grilled fish of the day, all are perfectly cooked. We had all of the above accommodating, friendly, timely - the best. Wonderful assortment of local beers and a worthy wine list.
Loved it! Our waitress was phenomenal! We will be back for sure!
Great dinner, this place is a standard for Raleigh. I love they haven’t changed in 30 yrs!
42nd Street Platter and Mountain Trout were amazing! Excellent wait staff and atmosphere. One of our favorite places for sure!
We went on my wifes birthday and three of us out of five had to return our food. Manager could have cared less. Bill was $158. Would not recommend. Scallops were like bait and dry as can be. Stay away, spend elseware
awesome time on Saturday night, great staff ,food , and atmosphere!!
Love this place. This was our second time. First time, it was just my husband and I. We loved it, different vibe because we sat at the bar and fortunately were there while the live music was on. We enjoyed it tremendously. This visit was with our teens. We loved dining at a regular table, the menu was awesome. My son has Celiac's so the GF menu was such a plus!!! However, we were a little disappointed because the live music was suppose to be on at 9:30 p.m. We waited until 10 p.m., we wanted our kids to get the full experience. We never were able to hear, we left at 10, the kids were super tired and wanted to go home. Hopefully next time, because there will be a next time for sure!
Great food. Wonderful service. I highly recommend.
The for was outstanding and our server was excellent.
Great friends wrapping up a small group on Everyone Communicates Few Connect!
I loved the atmosphere the moment we walked in. I lived in San Francisco for over 40 years and the 42nd street Oyster Bar reminded me of old school S.F. restaurants like Sam's Grill with private booths. My wife and I enjoyed Martini's and Oysters to start and they both hit the mark. My wife had Swordfish which was very nice while I had a great Trout with lump Crab meat, an outstanding choice. The key lime pie for desert was as good as it gets. I highly recommend this place for Sea food and a place to go with friends.
The bar area was vibrant and fun Courtney's service was great!
