This place is in dire need of an intervention. They seriously ran out of water glasses. We had to wait for nearly 30 minutes to get a glass of water. Our well-intentioned server was very apologetic and seemed to be trying her best. But, whether it was the bus staff or kitchen or whatever, it was very SLOOWWWWW. The food was average. I have to believe there are better places in Roanoke.
Great atmosphere. Friendly. Food had great flavor. We will definitely eat here again.
I usually go for lunch, but decided to head over for dinner for the second time. This really is a good place. Love the brugers -- best around. Also the diver scallops or the specil Monk Fish we had on Saturday night with the lobster fritters -- excellent....Really need to eat here more for dinner.
I love the food at 419 West, but the wait for food was an hour! Our waitress kept apologizing, but it wasn’t that busy. Everyone at the table was ready to leave and go to Waffle House. Finally our food arrived and it was hot and good. Our group voted not to go here anymore unfortunately.
This is my go-to place when I have a business lunch or looking for a good healthy bite. They do make the best Cobb Salad in Roanoke so no reason to go elsewhere. I love it.
Reservation not honored- gave away table requested! They don’t seem to pay attention to open table!!
The food was good and the atmosphere was solid. However, it would have been nice if they offered a anniversary package. Also, the seating was torn.
Delicious food and great service! We had a fabulous time! Will definitely return!
The wait staff is so pleasant and the food is amazing. I just wish your hosts were not visibly on their cell phones at the host station.
Valentine's date... had a table reservation for 2. Finally seated after 30 minute wait. The server greeted us and continued to talk about how "crazy busy" it was and how frazzled she was - lots of excuses before we even ordered. Once our food finally arrived after 45 minutes, one entree was burnt and inedible. I cant believe they served it. We received no drink refills, had to ask for bread three times as wed waited.... it was the a bad experience. The server offered a box to take the burnt meal home. Heck no! And no, i wasnt paying for it either! While this wasn't our first time dining here (previous times were good) this may be our last time. Overrated, over priced, poorly managed.
Been here many times, never disappoints. Clean cut and professional staff, really good food and a nice atmosphere. Some may say it's pricey but you get what you pay for. Well worth it a go to restaurant.
Excellent service. Good value for an upscale evening experience. Best Blue Cheese dressing I’ve ever had. Server very attentive
First time there. Really enjoyed it. Staff was great keep glasses filled did not have to wait on anything very friendly. Steak was the best I have had in a long time. I will be going back again.
Always a great meal. I love the Cobb Salad. Best in Roanoke.
So a few things....on the positive the food and service have improved since our last visit. Great job, clearly management and owner have taken notice of these things. Negative side...this restaurant is in need of a moderate renovation. Our seat at booth had a giant tear, as did some other seats we noticed while being guided to our table. Additionally, there were massive amounts of water stains on the ceiling, as well as paint flaking off and parts of plaster just hanging about to fall into someone’s food and/or drink. Hoping some of these issues will be addressed and fixed before our next visit.
Very disappointed with length of time we waited for salads and it was only half full. Very mediocre experience. Won’t return any time soon.
Food was good as always. Waitress didn't give us bread and refilled drink with unsweetened tea.
Two of us ordered the prime rib sandwich. One of us order the shrimp and grits and one ordered the chicken parm. The only meal that was enjoyed was the shrimp and grits dish (which my daughter said was great!). The prime rib sandwiches were over cooked and mostly "roll". The chicken parm was tasteless.
Our waitress was friendly and serviced the table appropriately. The atmosphere is nice...we had never been before. It was my daughter's birthday and restaurant choice.
Food was good for the area. One of the better restaurants and a non chain which is loaded in this part in Roanoke. Server was good, but the kitchen was extremely slow. Was having a great time with family, so it wasn’t really a worry, but it took about 45 Mins - 1 hr for 3 dinners to come out after an appetizer. Server was apologetic but there was nothing she could do. Menu is large (almost diner like) and could be paired down. Would eat here again, but atleast I know not to go there if I’m starving or in a rush.
Went there to celebrate a milestone with family. Solemn, unfriendly hostess seated us and as she walked away said “We will get you some menus when we have some”. Server came and took drink orders then asked if we got menus. We said “no”. She came back with two menus (we were a party of four) and told us they were the only menus she could find. Server came back with our drinks and told us she would bring us bread when “some became available”. We never got any bread. As we were finishing our entrees, the server asked if the check was “all on one”. We said “yes” and she bolted away before any of us could speak. She never offered us dessert, which my daughter was looking forward to. Food was good but not great. All in all, a disappointing experience.
All good man
My go-to place ofr any type of business meal. It is close, convenient, and the food is great 419 makes the best Cobb Salad I have tasted here in Roanoke. Also the Philly Cheese steak is highly recommended. Cant go wrong here for lunch or dinner.
Food was great but sat 15 minutes at table before someone even came to the table..another customer told their server that no one had came to our table..once our waitress did come (which was not even her table) service was excellent
The food was really good, but the service was poor. After we were seated it took 15-20 minutes before a server came to our table to get drinks and order. Everything else was good, but the service was lacking
Great meal fast service n wait service was excellent especially for New Years Eve
Stuck in the library with raucous group despite having reservation (No one else was in this room so why us?). Food was tender but bland. Dirty silverware and waitress seemed put out when asked to procure a clean set. Overall not a nice visit.
Our steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly!! Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive. Great experience!
Had an 8:00 reservation and arrived at 8:06 and was told the dining room was closed and we could sit at the bar. Manager sat us in the dining room and he was very nice. Ordered drinks and it took about 20 minutes to get them and we may have had 7 ice cubes for the entire table. 2 of us ordered martinis, one arrived full, the other half full and tasted like vermouth and water. Have been here an hour and a half and still waiting on our entrees. Appetizers consisted of greasy wontons with cold cheese dip and soggy spring rolls. Wallpaper is peeling off the walls and they just brought out rolls with cup saucers. Server never asked what temperature we wanted our steak. We all enjoyed looking at our empty glasses and dirty appetizer dishes while trying to choke down our entrees; afterall they only had an hour to remove them. I will never come back to this horrible place again. If I could do it over again, I would have gone to the Waffle House next door and had better food and service. Merry F'n Christmas
Upon arrival there were not too many tables filled, but multiple families arrived after us and were served before our 4 sandwiches made it to the table 50 minutes later. The food and ambiance were excellent. The crabcakes were some of the best I have ever had.
it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get our food!the waitress had too many tables to service.
Slow service tonight due to a couple of large groups. Our server worked hard to compensate for the long wait.
Made reservations 5 weeks prior to our date and once we arrived we asked to have a bigger table than the one she was seating us at. The hostess informed us that there we other parties coming in and needed to save the table next to us for those reservations. I explained we had three bigger guys and in order to sit comfortably it would be nice to spread out. We didn’t argue just sat where she had our table only to be at the restaurant for over 3 hours and the extra seating next to us was never used. We did however have three tables behind us that were being occupied by several teenagers and the noise level was horrible. The ceiling made it as the kids had mega phones shouting in our ears. We couldn’t hardly visit because it was so loud. It was our first time at the restaurant and I’m not sure if I’d ever be back.
Enjoyed our meal. Service was excellent. Our waiter Alec was top notch. Great atmosphere.
A great restaurant....that once was. Typical of those that have been successful in the past and continue to let things slide relying on their old name. The "Metro" of South Roanoke. Food was mediocre at best. Server forgot to put in our order, then MR Ribeye steak came out WD flank steak with non-mentioned cream sauce all over the top of it. Crab cakes looked like a 2 ounce balls of fluff. There wasn't a single thing redeeming sans enjoying a glass of wine in the bar area. That seems to be the new 419 reliance. The bar...and it's scene.
I had a great time at 419 for my birthday!! Our waitress was super nice and the food was tasty!! I plan to come back with more people so they can get the experience as well.
Waited 1.5 hours before getting food. There were 4 of us. Once food came it was cold. Was told manager would come but we never saw manager. Was our first and last experience there.
Visiting from out of town - Made reservation via OpenTable - got seated immediately - that was the high point of the evening. Placed order at 6:40. Had to ask 2x for bread, and multiple times for bread - finally told they were out of bread - brought cold hand cut chips. Was informed multiple times - ‘ your food is coming up .....” asked for manager at about he 45 minute wait mark... 59 minutes (not that we were counting) after ordering - food arrived - still no manager - which was just as well. Chicken for Guest 1 was cold, Fries for guest 2 were missing and Swordfish - that was ordered medium rare to medium arrived at a toasty 450 degrees - beyond well done - tough and dry. Manager timed arrival with our food to apologize. I voiced our concerns very politely - sent back the inedible swordfish - Guest 1 & 2 ate most of theirs - & we left. Food was comped - I had Peanut Butter & Crackers with Bananas, Honey and Blackberrys - at our hotel. Not really upset - just disappointed that as a business dinner was totally destroyed by inedible food and giving them an hour of our life that we will never get back. To their credit they tried to minimize our unhappiness - I’m sure this is a rare occurrence here - place looks great & has great reputation. Staff was nice & professional - maybe stretched to thin.
Fabulous food!!! Can't wait to travel to the area again. It is now on the list
We were seated quickly. One side of seating had a rip in the seat bottom. Service from the kitchen was slow. Restaurant was not crowded.
Wish it could have been a more enjoyable time!
This was a business meal to celebrate an excellent sales month for a Clint and his spouse. They p8cked the restaurant and it was a good choice. We all had sandwiches and salads and they were all very good. My chicken salad wrap was excellent and the portion was too much to finish. The salads were fresh, dressing on the side. Service was very good.
