After being seated we were informed that the kitchen was short-staffed and we could only order appetizers and sandwiches. Disappointing. Food was underwhelming and overpriced. Ambience was nice and Service was friendly.
Great food, Fast service and clean!
Everyone with a smile!
Our family came here for dinner on NYE. We had low expectations based on recent poor reviews, but our experience was better than anticipated. The service was good, our waitress was very attentive and accommodating. The food was very sub-par. The soup came out barely luke-warm. The greens beans appeared to be out of a can with little flavor. The creole pasta dish came without sausage as listed. Everything was just ok, not bad but not great. We were pleased with the timeliness of service (1.5 hr total) but they were not very busy. All in all, it was okay. Our experience appeared better than recent reviews.
Yummy as always ! Atmosphere was great ! Server was really nice and attentive!
We love 419 and love the food. We will be back. We took some out of town guests and they loved it.
The onion rings were the best we have ever had. YUM!
My reason for the lower rating is that we ordered our meals at 5:15pm, but didn’t get them until 6:53pm, a long wait of more than 1 hour, 38 minutes. The kitchen could use twice as many workers, and we only saw two servers. The servers had to act as hostess, waitress, and bus their own tables, all while apologizing to the seated guests for the long delays.
Everything was perfect ! The hostess to the server to presentation of our dinner. Everything was prepared as we ordered.
My wife and I both ordered burgers. When hers came the bun was not just toasted, it was black. She only ate the in burned half and was full so that worked out. Disappointing that that made it out of the kitchen though.
Our waitress was extremely helpful and catered to our every need. We suggest 419 getting a better bread pudding recipe.
Our server was excellent and the food was tasty, but overall it was not the experience we expect from 419. When trying to make a reservation, the only times available on several different days were 5:00 and 5:15. While that's pretty early for us to have dinner, we took a 5:15. We were puzzled while dining however, because there were never more than 10 or so tables seated in the whole 2+ hours we were there. Our usual wine was available and good. When ordering our steaks, the server told us they had none of the cut we requested. (We chose a different cut we enjoy, but when it arrived it appeared that one regular steak had been cut in half as it was less than a half inch thick. It was cooked okay and tasted good.) After ordering salad, our server returned to say they were out of our favorite salad dressing and asked us to choose another. When the salad came, we asked about our bread basket which hadn't been brought out. The server came back during the meal with some grilled bread we've never seen before and we were charged for "muscle bread" which was not earth-shattering but unexpected. Our meal was delivered only a few bites into the salad, which honestly happens too often there. All in all, the food was fine and our server was good, but we worry about the downhill slide that appears to be going on at one of our favorite places.
I made a reservation 2 weeks ago for a holiday get together with a group of friends. Upon arrival, the restaurant was mostly empty but we were sat in a corner booth which would comfortably sit a party of 4 but we had 6 adults and a child. We could’ve easily been sat somewhere more accommodating to our party size. Our drinks sat empty for a while and when our food arrived, it was cold, hard and over cooked. The pizza for the child in our party was burnt on the bottom, the brunch items for the biscuits and gravy were cold and the biscuits were crunchy. We asked for it to be reheated but it came out the same way it left; cold and gross. The crab cakes were burnt on top and the masked potatoes were cold. Someone in my group asked to place a to go order. A good 25-30 minutes went by and the food never arrived; I’m assuming or server never rang it in. She brought us our checks and the Togo order wasn’t on anyone’s checks. We asked about it and she said they were fixing and it just needed to be rung up again. We all paid- no to go order on anyone’s checks and no additional checks were given. We waited another 20 mins or so and left. Never got our to go order, never saw our server again. Really disappointed with the whole visit.
Waitress was overworked and could not get anything we ordered correct. Very slow service food came out cold
Three of our party’s plates were served cold and one of our party’s meals was not fully cooked.
Unacceptable value for $229.00 plus tip. I would not recommend pickup from 419.
Ordered Carry out Thanksgiving 4 pm pickup. Arrived at 3:50 at 4:05 was informed paper mixup and they would 'Make my order on the fly'. After waiting an additional 20 mins my order came. 6 adult portions for 2 adults and 4 kids 11 and under.
Arrived home missing gravy and rolls, the turkey was dry and green beans were salty.
After one round of servings 2 adults and kids 5,7,9,11 Turkey was gone, kids did not eat much, expected left overs from adult portion sizes, but only 3 pieces of ham left. I left a comment on Friday Nov 26 directly with 419 that has gone unanswered as of 12/01 which eludes to the quality of service and importance customers make to 419.
Thanksgiving, very slow service, wrong charge for bottle of wine, food was lacking.
I would have preferred the Turkey sliced and not in chunks. Didn’t care for the green beans. Stuffing was outstanding as was everything else.
We waited an hour before we got our food. Thankfully our 1.5 year old son had his food before we did. Our service sucked. She never checked on us at all. Was extremely rude. We will not be back for a very long time if ever.
Good service our server was very polite and nice.
No happy with, we normally get a good meal there
Great meal. Great service. We sat outside and were a little concerned about getting service. Once our server greeted us we in good hands. Very friendly and very attentive. Burgerscwere good.
Great quality special occasion meal. Great atmosphere and service!
Some menu items very expensive for the type of restaurant-bar it was. I got the impression the atmosphere of the restaurant has shifted and therefore some things changed while other things remained the same. Food was kind of bland tasting.
Food took forever. Orders came out wrong. Food was mediocre at best.
Enjoyed the evening. Robin was our server and she was fabulous
Looking forward to visiting again the next time we are in the area
Good was bland and overpriced for what we received. We are typically very satisfied so maybe it was the Sunday brunch menu. Food was comparable to a cafeteria
The food was delicious and the service was incredible. Strongly recommend to everyone.
VERY poor service! We made a 7pm reservation....were left standing at the hostess stand for 10-15 minutes when AMPLE tables were EVIDENTLY open. One waitress acknowledged us, said she would see where we couls be seated, then proceeded to wait on other customers without doing ANYTHING about our seating and walking by the table we were ultimately seated at.
THEN....the drink promoted on the specials was no longer available; conveniently discontinued THAT day. THEN...our salads AND main course came BEFORE our appetizers.....which were NOT the ones ordered so had to be REDONE.
EXTREMELY disappointed as first time attendees.....will NOT return and will NOT recommend. By the end of the ordeal.....Waffle House next door was looking like the better choice!
Food was surprisingly low quality. Extremely bland, no seasoning at all.
Nachos excellent. Our waitress was top notch. Would definitely return.
I made a reservation, a table was ready when I arrived. Prompt service. Nice drink selection. I had a 419 lemonade with Whiskey, it did not disappoint. My date had the Chipotle Club and I had the Pulled Pork Tacos. We both enjoyed our selections. I would definitely recommend this a date location
Always the same. Try the pizza and the outside patio
Two of us split shrimp cocktail for the appetizer, filet mignon for the main course and chocolate lava cake for dessert. Everything was delicious!!!
There was three of us in our party. We came down from CT to drop off our son/grandson at Roanoke College. The desk clerk suggested this place. He certainly didn’t give us a bad scoop. Everything was great. The food the service. It was great. Would definitely go back again.
A great place for a business meeting and lunch!
The worst meal I’ve had out in a long time. Homemade chips were cold and extremely bland, crab cake sandwich - crab cake was ok but the bread was soggy, lettuce was brown, real brown - would note recommend. White Chile Nachos were pretty good. I had to stop at a fast food restaurant for dinner and it was better than 419 West plus it was 80 dollars cheaper. I would not recommend 419 West to anyone. And if you want to speak with a manger, forget it, he never came by our table.
Everyone was super from the greeting by the reception thru Matthew's service.
Love the chef's creative dishes. Thanks to all
They have the best pizza in town. Period. Our waitperson, Julie, was a true gem
Food and service were great!
Wonderful service. The Buffalo bites were delicious. Unfortunately, my burger and bacon were over cooked.
