410 Bank Street
After receiving an email the day before asking me to confirm my reservation (which I did) and I received a text message 3 hours prior to my reservation reminding me of my reservation, the restaurant was closed when we arrived. Very rude. If they were able to contact me prior to make sure I was was going to be there why couldn’t they have the consideration to call me and cancel.
Always a unique dining experience. We come every year.
Room was very cold
the setting is beautiful, the menu is broad and deep and the selections are very good, our server Rimma was outstanding.
HOWEVER< the heat did not work it was no more than 45 degrees in the dining room...people were eating in parkas with their hoods up... I don't know if it was connected or not but much of the food was not hot...had to be sent back,...in fairness it was handled nicely but it shouldn't have been...they could at least have gone to Home Depot and for $400( just a little more than our dinner) bought several space heaters and made it more comfortable...
I would go back but i was somewhat disturbed that for their prices they weren't better equipped to hand an "emergency" and seemed very lackadaisical about it.
2019 Closing weekend was a wonderful meal. The food was top notch. Service was a bit lackluster, mostly due to 86ing menu items (three that I requested were all gone by 6:30pm, but not all known to my server). Not really a complaint, but several back and forth situations before I could reliably count on my dinner arriving as ordered. See you in 2020
We had a excellent experience. My husband and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary during restaurant week. The specials were reasonably priced. We were seated in a lovely spot on the porch overlooking the front garden. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious!
We are local's and go to 410 Bank Street often. Our dinner was excellent. They were able to accommodate 2 extra people on our reservation without a fuss. We will be back.
Wonderful meal, great ambiance, and delicious food. We went for restaurant week and 3 of us ordered off that menu and 1 ventured off and ordered off of the regular menu. We were all very happy with our meal. Highly recommend the steaks, lobster bisque and scallops appetizer!
Dined at 410 many times, always great food and service. I ordered the Cesar salad, very disappointing , lettuce was white. Dressing tasted like bottled. Croutons like rocks. Chicken, was great, other's very good, shrimp. Scallops, swordfish. Next time i'll get the soup. Always delicious.
great food ,generous portions . Friendly atmosphere and careful about food allergies .
excellent food and service. I would highly recommend
The food was excellent and service was also. The pork chops dish I had was the best pork dish I ever had. Everything was done to perfection, it was very noisy but everything else about the place was wonderful.
Taking into consideration it was restaurant week, I'd say the dining experience was four stars. Food , really good, restaurant was loud , outside ambiance was beautiful. Unfortunately, we had to wait outside because our table was not ready.I did make reservations 6 weeks in advance. It was cold outside too. I think I would definitely go back but not on restaurant week.
We went for restaurant week and were soo disappointed. It was so loud we couldn’t hear ourselves talk. The food was not up to their usual standards ☹️
Server was extremely conscientious of my food allergies.
Appetizers, entrees and desserts were unusual and delicious.
We are Restaurant Week groupies and 410 Bank provided one of the best of our dining experiences. Our appetizers, scallops and the shark, were perfect. The voodoo shrimp was both interesting and delicious. Desserts were the pecan cheesecake, more of a pecan pie (delicious crust) and bread pudding were so good we took some home. Just an exceptional meal.
This was not our first time to 410, it’s always been an excellent meal. We love that they participate in restaurant week as we are local and feel that it’s a great time for anyone (but especially locals) a chance to experience the fine dining at a more reasonable price. We were seated right away and sat in the back which was a nice change as we are usually on the porch but the tables are a lot closer together. The server came over shortly and I felt that once he knew we were doing restaurant week he didn’t care about our table as much. The biggest thing that bothered me was that we brought our own wine and he didn’t even open it for us. At a restaurant where entrees are $35+ I feel that you shouldn’t have to touch your bottle of wine and the sever should at least open it and then continue refilling throughout your meal (when we’ve eaten at all the other finer restaurants in town this is always the standard). The apps took a very long time to come out and the server never updated or checked on us during this time. The meal was fantastic and excellent. We had coffee and bought extra desserts for our babysitters so our bill was more then the restaurant week pricing. Our server never asked if we wanted refills on our coffees or asked if there was anymore he could do. This was our mom and dad date night out and I would have enjoyed another coffee and conversation before we left but we felt rushed out. We will be back again but this was the first time we were not impressed with the service.
Still one of the top restaurants in the restaurant Mecca of South Jersey. Scallop appetizer exceptional. Large portions. Knowledgeable and pleasant server. We will return.
Food is excellent but a little inconsistent. My husband had gotten the voodoo shrimp there 3 times and each time the sauce was different in flavor and color and not as good as the first time. My meal was perfect everytime. Desserts are delicious. Love the key lime pie.
Busy night with a large, noisy table that ruined the ambience for the entire patio area. Food was great, as always, but had to be reheated after it was left standing for a long time. Management did apologize for the noise and service, they should have offered to comp the offended patrons dessert!
Food was delightful, service was attentive, but ambience was negatively effected by crowding of tables and extremely high noise level. Still, we would return.
Excellent personalized service. The food is outstanding. I usually order one of the specials and have been extremely happy every time. The fish is fresh and the sauces complement it in a unique, delicious manner. This is a perennial favorite for me and my wife.
Excellent and unique!! The crawfish soup was excellent! Will return.
410 Bank St. has never disappointed . The staff were welcoming and attentive. The menu selection and specials were many.
Let me preface my raving about this restaurant by saying that we were the last seated on a slow night. My server, Rimmi (sp) was personable, friendly and efficient. The shrimp and pork dumplings were AMAZING! The absolute best I've ever encountered!! The lobster bisque was wonderful and the Coquille St Jacques was magnificent!! I hope you're hearing a theme here? This was a great meal!
Our favorite restaurant at the Shore for nearly 30 years.
410 Bank Street continues to be my favorite restaurant at the South Jersey Shore. The New Orleans inspired menu also folds in other flavors and what is the common thread to all the dishes is that the flavors are pure and bold. Dinner Saturday night included a phenomenal potato leek soup, chopped shrimp dumplings in a Thai peanut sauce (one of those other flavors) and a rack of lamb over a bed of something Cajun that look almost gumbo like complete with Andouille sausage. It was a party on a plate. Add to that the warm and wonderful service of our favorite waiter, Don, and the evening was complete. If you haven't gone, go. If you have gone, go again.
Food was delicious, and our waiter Sean was fantastic
Very enjoyable. forgot just how good it is. Outstanding shrimp ap. Also , Snapper, blackened and crab cake appetizers hard to beat. Except everyone knows best crab cakes are made by 90 year old Lucille 87 years at Chalfonte kitchen. but these were pretty darn close second. Friendly, home town atmosphere, a locals favorite. Great job 410!
I have been to this restaurant a dozen times over many years. I was never so disappointed at this past time. My reservation was at 6:15 and we were out of there by 6:55. Ridiculous how quickly the food was served. We ordered and the waiter left and came back with our appetizer. Plate promptly removed and entree served. No time to digest your meal. Didn’t even order desert (a first) because of speed. The food was good but if you are looking for a nice dinner to enjoy wine and your company, go elsewhere. Was planning on returning next weekend with a guest but I don’t want to chance it.
Very nice restaurant, food is always fabulous. The noise level you need to be able to deal with and this isn't a cheap place to eat. My wife and I ensure we have dinner here every year, been doing so for the last 10 years and it hasn't changed, always delightful.
The food was top notch and extremely flavorful and the service was wonderful. The blackened dishes we had were excellent - not overly salty and fish/seafood cooked to perfection. Generally we don't get desert, but we were amazed by how delicious the pecan pie cheesecake was. This will be a MUST the next time we are back in Cape May.
Have gone here for years and always recommend the place. The appetizers were awesome as usual but the entrees and service were just fair. Desert came out frozen and had to be returned. Maybe just an off night but for the money I expect more.
Go hungry... get the seafood gumbo
Best food I have had in Cape May! Every bite was delicious!
Just a perfect meal!!
This is our favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, this visit wasn't the best. We were seated right next to the kitchen "backdoor," where it was extremely noisy with kitchen noises of clattering dishes, pans and voices. Not good ambiance, but other areas of the restaurant are better. Our entrees were just okay. Prime rib, requested medium, was tough, dry, cold, yet overdone (and at $54 we expected perfection.) The mashed potatoes were cold and crumbly. The salmon medallions were good, but not outstanding, as they've been in the past. We will certainly eat here again and hope for an experience more like we expect from 4 10 Bank Street.
Food well prepared and well presented, equal to its reputation. A bit pricey and some of the dishes, esp the appetizers and desserts, are overdone; keeping it simple would be better. Quiet with exceptionally attentive service (Thursday)
