I know there's a shortage of staff in this industry, but sometimes enough is enough. I just have one negative comment about this restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess appeared disturbed by our presence. She acknowledged our reservation and POINTED for us to go to the table at the farthest end of the restaurant. This is a large restaurant and it was very busy. She never left the hostess stand. This was quite a walk.. No attempt to escort us. Hmm.. We found our table . Their was a service delay but the manager kicked in and our service and food were extraordinary. When Soujean , our waiter was liberated from his other responsibilities, he was the most attentive and gracious server. Both he and the mgr, were super professional.

We came to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. First we had to ask for another table because they placed us in a high staff traffic area. Then they put a family with rambunctious toddlers beside us. Not exactly what one would anticipate in a high end establishment. The food was very good but we were surprised that there were no vegetables, only some whipped garlic potatoes. The staff was extremely attentive, to a point of overkill. We just wanted a quiet celebratory meal.

This is my second time to 40 Westt with my wife. I have a really good experience when I visited the first time. This is why we decided to go again. Unfortunately, the service, ambiance and food were not to the level of the first time. It was a real disappointment. As soon as we arrived were seated at a small table near the bar without much space between us and other patrons. The constant flow of orders made it difficult to hold a conversation, and the waiters frequently bumped into me while taking orders. Moreover, not all items on the menu were available, and the desserts were well below our expectations. To make matters worse, my wife's filet mignon steak was topped with bacon, despite her explicit request to not include any pork or bacon in her meal. The waiter did not offer to replace the dish but instead only suggested removing the bacon on top. All in all, it was a real disappointment and fell short of the high standard we had come to expect from this highly ranked restaurant.

Food and waiter were excellent however, I do not recommend getting gift certificates from this restaurant. I was given one as a gift and they did not honour it. I was told to email my request to have it honoured next time because it was too old but had no expiry date on it. I sent 2 emails and after a week I called and left 2 messages 2 days apart and no one called me back. As I started food and service from in restaurant staff excellent but I do not recommend gift certificates or dealing with whichever manager manages them. I’m saying I recommend because of in restaurant staff but do not recommend their gift certificates
