About 3800 Ocean
We call it the “collective kitchen.” For the menus of 3800 Ocean are inspired not only by the local abundance of South Florida’s renowned crops that thrive under a hospitable climate, but by the regional flavors that stir the souls of our collaborative team of chefs. Each chef brings a new insight to the table: the comfort food favorites of New England; the fire and spice of Mexico; the Caribbean traditions of Jamaica; and the ageless classics of Long Island. Our own local abundance of fresh produce and seafood allows us to take the collective kitchen dining concept quite literally. Everything is made from scratch. Every taste evokes an emotional connection to a past culinary memory, or perhaps a future craving.

3800 Ocean Ratings and Reviews
Exceptional food, drinks and service!! Wanted a special restaurant to celebrate two birthdays and we sure found it. We sat along the windows facing the ocean which was wonderful. The food was creative but not overdone and the service by Kelli and the others were perfect! The drinks, especially the Singer Island Martini, was tasty and did the trick. From the "lobster corn dog" through to the "smores" dessert, each plate was well thought out and absolutely delicious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything. Kudos to the chef!!
We will be back whenever we are in the area again. It is a little pricey but well worth it!!!
Marriott is very nice on Singer Island the 3800 Ocean restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean we had breakfast on the veranda the breakfast ends at 11 we arrived at 11:30 but they did accommodate us except they couldn't get me oatmeal so I instead excepted grits don't know why I couldn't get oatmeal over all very nice experience the view is spectacular and if you want to feel like you getting away For a while, go to 3800 Ocean and parking is validated free
What a terrible experience. It was the last night of our vacation. We received non existent service, my husband had to send his steak back and our dinner cost over $200 even after they took his streak off. Way over priced, terrible service, no manager on site and the food was not that great. So disappointing and what a sad end to our trip. Dont go here!! I want my money back ..so not worth it.
Food was pretty good, but extremely expensive and then they wanted to charge an additional $5 to split the steak entree in the kitchen for my two boys (i refused).
Mostly the service was strange and uneven. They took our drink order and then two minutes later another waiter appeared to confirm what my boys had ordered (she had it completely incorrect). Then the servers checked on us so often, and generally before we had even taken a bite, that it bordered on intrusive or harassment. Then when I was looking for a waiter to get a steak knife, I couldn't find any of the 2 or 3 servers who had been bothering us. Another LOVELY and helpful waitress, not assigned to us, took the steak into the kitchen and got it sliced for the boys without charging us. The service felt like he several waitors assigned to our table were in training and not coordinating who did what it.
We visit every month , the service is outstanding- the men and woman who work there are friendly, knowledgeable and like their jobs. The food "this time" and last time was below par - it could be the new menu - the recipes need fixed immediately. (Heavy salty sauces on the pork entree, unbalanced flavors and too vinegary creamy mignonette sauce with fresh oysters, and dried thick chorizo chunks atop an entree that made the chorizo the main flavor not the entree. If you charge four star it should be four star. ..$34.00 an entree and $18.00 for 6 oysters.
Waitress was great she was hampered by slow production from the bar and kitchen. Took extremely long time to get drinks and 1st course then entree was at the table before we had completed our salads. One entree was not for our table. Entrees were not delivered by our waitress but four others. View is wonderful and property is pretty.
Overpriced cafe atmosphere rather than up-scale QUIET restaurant they assured me (on phone) that it was! Lousy date night experience as other diners were loud, dressed in shirts and T-shirts and sandals. We were out of place on a Thursday night in business elegant dress. Would not recommend for a nice romantic experience or one in which you want to talk with the person you are with. Better to look elsewhere!
Average hotel restaurant at above average prices. Both fish dishes over cooked, should have been sent back to kitchen, informed waiter, no offer to replace dishes. After meal he offered 20% discount or a free desert. Expected more from what was suppose to be one of the best restaurant in the area.
Food was good but noise level from open kitchen was too much. Will not go back because of noise. Plates were slamming . Have been to other places with open kitchen which were much quieter. They need put some glass around kitchen and staff should be more aware of noise they are making
I was VERY DISAPPOINTED with the food. I ordered the crispy yellowtail fish which was not crispy, the jasmine rice was plain, bland, and cold, and the overall temperature of the dish was cold as if it sat for a while before being brought to me. The appetizer of oysters with caviar was very disappointing in that for $16.00 I only received 3 oysters, not enough to share - they should just charge $18.00 and offer an extra oyster so that the appetizer can be shared, however it did taste good. The drinks were very good and the ambiance was excellent. I would not eat here again, unfortunately, as there needs to be tighter control of the menu items for the cost of the meals.
My husband and I were visiting Florida over his birthday so decided to try 3800 Ocean (in the Marriott Hotel) for his celebatory dinner. The restaurant's decor has a NYC vibe with an open kitchen, soaring ceilings and large layout. Part of the draw is the restaurant has direct views of the beach/ocean. However, from November through March, none of the hotels have outdoor lighting on the beach because of loggerhead turtles breeding. As a result, at night there is no view - the windows just reflect back the interior of the restaurant.
The food is good but in my opinion, entree prices are $8 to $10 too high, especially for the size of the portions. We shared a salad ($16) which was not bountiful. Then my husband's entree of scallops had just three scallops on a bed roasted pepper grits ($36) so basically $12 per scallop. My entree of crispy snapper ($36) was adequatley portioned but served with white rice - no sauce and small pieces of grilled eggplant. I think the restaurant tries to make up for small potions with presentation. Fortunately we asked the server for bread (not offered but available if you ask)
Wine a cocktails were similarly priced on the steep side but recognize that this is the season.
In summary, overall would not recommend this restaurant.
