About 3800 Ocean
We call it the “collective kitchen.” For the menus of 3800 Ocean are inspired not only by the local abundance of South Florida’s renowned crops that thrive under a hospitable climate, but by the regional flavors that stir the souls of our collaborative team of chefs. Each chef brings a new insight to the table: the comfort food favorites of New England; the fire and spice of Mexico; the Caribbean traditions of Jamaica; and the ageless classics of Long Island. Our own local abundance of fresh produce and seafood allows us to take the collective kitchen dining concept quite literally. Everything is made from scratch. Every taste evokes an emotional connection to a past culinary memory, or perhaps a future craving.

3800 Ocean Ratings and Reviews
Everything was great until the bill came. Service was terrific and food, although pricey, was delicious. However, upon getting our bill we found ourselves charged for ICE in our cocktails. Who thought when we ordered two "glenlivet on the rocks" the bill would include a $2.00/drink charge for "rocks"!!!! Frozen water! Needless to say, that left a very bad final impression. We were enjoying a nice evening in a lovely restaurant only to find ourselves ridiculously charged for ICE! Won't go back!
Excellent food and service, on a par with Palm Beach. We went on a Saturday night for our anniversary dinner. Perfect for this occasion but if you wanted a little more action it was too quiet. Would be fun in a group and to take advantage of the chefs table with wine pairings
Thank you for an excellent dining experience. The wait staff was very professional and courteous. Our waiter Charles was very attentive and made an amazing recommendation of grouper. The short ribs were also excellent. Wonderful ambiance with views of the ocean. Will be back next time in area. Highly recommend !
The service was great. However, the restaurant was freezing. Our meat was not prepared to the level we requested. The server took the meat back to the kitchen as the remainder of our meal sat on our plates getting cold. When the server returned with our meat, it was properly cooked but cold. Disappointing experience.
Food was good. It is pricey but the restaurant is upscale. All was great for a romantic dinner until they set a table for 10 with children right next to us. So be sure to ask to be set elsewhere away from a group if you are a couple.
When leaving I suggested to the staff that it is best not to seat a large party with children next to the couples that are dining. They said they families lived there in the building. Like that is an excuse for poor planning on their part of improper seating.
appetizer tuna tartar good but skimpy for 18 bucks.....main course korean braised beef large portion tender very good says the wife......my chicken breast with attached leg? dry and interior overcooked........waitress didn't give the 10% marriot discount on bill until told?.....expected more but the hotel itself is magnificent interior
The hotel lobby is beautiful, we accessed the patio to look at the view for supermoon pictures. We found a nice spot then checked in at the restaurant.
The hostess was cute and told us that it was cold and windy outdoor. In fact it was warmer outside with no wind...
Being seated outside we couldn't read the menu... We asked for a light and we had to ask a second time after fifteen minutes to get it.
We ordered cocktails. My single malt whisky arrived promptly but was soaked with the ice cubes.
The entrée was good $60... but it felt like it sit under the warming light for some time.
We didn't took appetizers nor deserts.
At the end, the moon never showed up, but I cannot blame the restaurant for that!
When we received the bill, I was surprised to see that they charged $2 for the ice cubes. Total price for the dinner was $300 for 3 people including tips.
Took my aunt here for her birthday plus it was part of the flavor of the month. Overall the food wasn't bad. I can't say I would go back, because the meals didn't blow me away
Also, they should expand their menu options during the flavor of the month, the choices were so limited
Went there as chef got rave reviews in the newspaper. Food was ordinary and not very flavorful. It took much too long to get the appetizers and then again the dinner. The restaurant had minimal seating for such a large space and it was extremely noisy!
Would never go back or recommend!
Fairly good for this price point, but not great...waiter was jubilent when there, but often spread too thin, since there were only two waiters and one back waiter for the entire restaurant on this Friday night...expected more but still tipped our guy well...not his fault that the management made the decision to understaff...
Ocean 3800 was rented out for the evening for a BatMitzvah and the hotel did a very poor job of prohibiting people from making dinner reservations on 3rd party websites (like open table) and when we arrived with our confirmed reservation we saw temporary tables for guests to dine at in the lobby outside the restaurant and in their open common area outside where people were able to walk through in bathing suits and other beach ware where you are trying to enjoy an upscale dinner. I was very disappointed that the restaurant/hotel didn't do a better job of communicating that to potential customers. They were very happy to take your money when the atmosphere and table placements were poor. If I try it again I would call to make certain that they didn't have a private function going on.
Thank you to 3800 Ocean for making my birthday dinner so special! My husband and I had a wonderful experience. The decor is beautiful and classy. The ambiance was quiet and romantic at the time we dined. The staff was excellent and the food was fantastic. We could not have asked for more. We felt pampered and will definitely return.
3800 Ocean is an outstanding restaurant especially considering that is located within a hotel. It stands out not only for it's excellent chefs, the food they serve and the service but the stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean. So few South Florida restaurant offer views of one of our greatest assets. 3800 Ocean does so with style and flair and great food. Well done, Marriott. Well done, chefs. Well done, all.
