Nice spot for great food and drink and quiet enough to have a nice conversation
We had a great time at 37 North. We had chosen to go there on the strength of previous reviews and we weren't disappointed. I recommend the Brussels sprouts fries. They're really good!
There was a jazz trio playing some really good music which made the ambience just wonderful. Overall, I'll be visiting again.
We went for the 1000 points. The menu is fine for being located in the Double Tree Hotel. Nothing great, but decent tasting food. The service, however, is warm and friendly- like you might expect at a small town's local eatery. There is no actual restaurant area; the lobby and bar and restaurant are all in one large open space. There is nothing to make the place seem interesting- plants, pictures. Stocker tables and chairs. The place settings are modern plain, but the servers pour the wine and soup from containers into one's glass or bowl.
There were a few other patrons plus a group of 15-20.
While spending the night at the SF airport last week, we walked from our hotel to the Doubletree to have dinner at 37 North. It turned out to be one of the best meals of our vacation (which included some high-end eateries in downtown SF). Lee Sit, our server, could not have been more helpful. I had the steak and eggs, my wife the Cubano sandwich, and our son the ribeye...all perfectly prepared, complemented by a nice wine selection; we even enjoyed a dessert. The dining room was warm and inviting and clean (more than I can say for the hotel where we were staying). Don't be put off by the location. 37 North is a winner.
The caveat on this review is that we made reservations on Christmas Day, when probably nobody wants to work if they don't really have to. That said- we were seated promptly, with a nice jazz trio playing near the entrance. The place looks nice, modern hotel beige, and was busy with a lot of family groups. However, the section with our table only had a single service person for EVERYTHING- taking orders, serving food, bussing tables. We sat with menus for 20-25 min before he came by the first time, whereupon we decided that the evening's experience was not going to be worth the tab and bailed out. I'm not sure what a restaurant does to handle situations with lots of diners and almost no workers, but that wasn't it. (OpenTable requires that all the star ratings be entered, but we didn't order anything so the food rating is a placeholder).
We came here for a special occasion and everyone took such good care of us. The food and service are outstanding and it was delightful ambiance to sit and just chill in a classy atmosphere.
You must make it a point to dine in this restaurant. The selection items on the menu are amazing - everything from fish, fowl and beef. All prepared with expertise and care.
We really enjoyed our evening at 37 North. Our dinners were great, from the tasty appetizers to the chocolate cake at dessert. The service was attentive and our courses came a just the right pace. Our server was particularly warm and friendly. We were visiting from out of the area and we felt like her favorite regulars. We also enjoyed the band. Live music made the evening memorable.
The food and service was amazing, but I would suggest more of a selection for the buffet and for the food to be kept warmer. Most of the food was barely room temperature.
Parking was easy, no crowds (and now I know why), almost immediately after sitting down after our first plate the server brought us the check, very tacky. The tables for two are so close to each other you have no sense of privacy. I asked for sparkling apple cider, a holiday alternative to champagne but they did not have it. Turkey, prime rib, and ham were main courses and it was okay. The dessert choices were limited to pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and plain cheesecake.
Overall, the selections for a holiday buffet were very limited and for $100 for two, there are better places to go for Thanksgiving.
I wasn't aware that the restaurant was in the Double tree Hotel. That would have made finding it very easy. Food was typical of most brunches. The prime Rib was great. Not enough salad choices. Price of $40+ was acceptable.
Food was excellent, tableservice was thoughtful, management were attentive!
It's in a hotel lobby, but don't let that stop you. The food is good and they have live music on Thur, Fri and Sat. The large bar is active and a meeting place for groups. Based on a small sample, the drinks are generous. We'll be back for sure.
Not bad for a hotel restaurant.
This is in the middle of a an open area at the Double Tree hotel. The website on Open Table did not disclose this except where you might look for parking information. No ambiance what so ever. We dined there because they offer 1000 points .
The food was better than average but in small portions.
Service was very good tho there were not many diners. Price was fair for what we received. It is close to airport and after travel sometimes not going far is worth the effort
My husband and I hadn't been to the Double Tree for dinner in years, but we live locally and remember we had always liked it. We had a fantastic meal and will certainly return.
We loved everything we ordered and prices were reasonable. We had the deviled eggs, the brussel sprout chips (great flavors mixed around the individual leaves), good short ribs main course, delicious chicken salad we shared, and my main dish homemade pasta was outstanding. I love pasta when it is like in Italy, not overwhelmed with sauce and add-ons. This was ciprolini (like spaghetti, but thicker) with peas, shiitake mushrooms and a nice sauce that was just enough.
Second visit and worth the trip. Great server, Jenny, again. The food was better than our first meal a year ago!
we arrived late from a trip and I took the closest recommendation by Open Table to our hotel and it didn't disappoint. The food was very good and the service was great !
This is a fabulous hotel restaurant, fresh food, great service. Parking is comped if you eat in the restaurant. There's not much around here but if you happen to be staying in the area it's worth checking out.
Delicious. The wings and Brusselsprouts were Fabulous
Our server Jenny was really great!
(May have been Jenni)
We were disappointed that they were out of the brussel sprouts that everyone raves about in the reviews :(
I'd say the biggest area for improvement is ambiance. The space is too big to not be broken up somehow. A few sheer drapery panels would work wonders!
An incredible, wonderful dining experience. This restaurant in the Doubletree hotel is truly noteworthy in a number of areas. First of all, the incredible, professional, friendly, knowledgeable service exhibited by Jenny. She is the consummate professional with a fantastic knowledge of the restaurants’ fine cuisine. Attentive, on cue and always top notch service is the norm with her. The food is spectacular and poultry, beef and appetizers are fantastic. The menu is truly a nice unusual mixture of quality food items. Try this fantastic restaurant and enjoy the best in local Peninsula cuisine.
Nice last minute place to grab a bite & enjoy a great Martini & Jazz band
Great service and good food are always found at 37 North. The live music on the weekend is an added pleasure
Excellent place for a relaxed dinner with live smooth Jazz in the background!
We go here every so often and we never are disappointed. Fridays and Saturdays they have a jazz band as well so it's even better!
Visited today from a hotel down the street. The food was really good and they even had live music, which was great. The service was very good and we enjoyed ourselves as we listened to the tunes.
They validate your parking ticket on the way out so just push the button to get a ticket from the box outside and bring it inside to the waiter.
Cuban sandwich and cheeseburger were just right and the Brussel sprout chips were an interesting change of pace.
37 North at the airport Doubletree hotel always delivers delicious, fresh food. Jesus provides great service!
It is always the highlight of our dining experience to stop by this incredible restaurant and partake of some outstanding cuisine. On this occasion, we were greeted warmly by Bryanna. She is always so warm, accommodating and is an excellent reminder of the incredible personnel employed at this establishment. Next is Jenny, whose knowledge of menu items and her 'spot on' suggestions are always the best. The menu has changed and there are some nice entrees to partake of. The salads - amazing and the Kale Caesar is made to perfection. Steaks are seasoned and care is obviously taken to ensure the dining experience is memorable. The food is par excellence, but it's the service by Jenny that transcends the norm and is top notch class. We were made to feel welcome, appreciated and we can't say enough or provide and it's my pleasure to provide noteworthy accolades about her 'can do' attitude. For example, water was filled timely, dishes removed seamlessly. Loved our experience here and look forward to many more occasions and future opportunities.
The friendly staff at 37 North is always welcoming. The food is fresh and delicious. Favorites include the chicken salad and ahi sandwich.
This restaurant is consistently outstanding. First of all, you are greeted warmly by Bryanna, who promptly brings you to your table with a smile and a wonderful attitude. Then you are professionally served by one of the best wait persons - Jenny. She is extremely knowledgeable about the food items, drinks and has wonderful suggestions with appetizers and desserts. I can't say enough positive accolades about this restaurant. The chef knows how to season their food. The steaks are incredible and every attention to detail is effected. Jenny is amazing and relishes doing her utmost in ensuring customer satisfaction is acheived. She is incredible in determining what needs, wants and desires the customer warrants. As always, a job well done and everyone needs to rush to this gem of a restaurant and partake of superior food, service and atmosphere.
My husband and I discovered the restaurant when we were meeting a friend staying at the hotel. We have returned several times since because the food is excellent and the service is professional. Both Jesus and Carmen are wonderful servers. Although it's a bit of a drive for us, we think it is well worth it.
37 North, located in the airport Doubletree Hotel, always serves fresh, locally sourced food. The welcoming staff is always friendly!
The mac n cheese - both kid version (plain) and adult version (broiled with bacon) - simply delish.
The burger is one of the best i've ever had.
The rest of the menu items were ok. biscuits/ham was underwhelming. Gnocchi with beef ragu was ok. Steak was ok.
We sat inside and were comfortable but felt like we were on display as people kept coming up to the windows to cup their hands and look inside. The outside tables don't look to comfy since tables are much lower than the seating so you have to hunch over to eat.
Sparkling water is home brew and not that refreshing and wasn't served as cold as we wanted.
Our server was very nice but service was slow and he seemed inexperienced. The food wasn't great but not horrible - bland and overcooked. Children were running around screaming so loudly that we couldn't hear anyone speak and I had to ask the staff before they approached the parents.
There was a mentally unstable person in the parking lot yelling death threats and obscenities towards my family (including grandparents and children) and when we notified the manager he sat in the doorway peeking out apparently waiting for security to come - which they never did. This was completely irresponsible and unacceptable.
37 North is a fantastic restaurant with a relaxed and approachable vibe. The menu was simple yet diverse and well priced. They have a jazz band that plays every night which provided an air of elegance to our evening. Our dining experience was topped off my free cookies for dessert because it was our first time at the restaurant. We will definitely be back.
We love going to 37 North! Foods great, service is too! Rusty at the bar is so nice and makes the best Perfect Rye Manhattans!
This was our first time at 37 North and I have to say the three of us enjoyed it. For starters the KERASI cocktail, the ingredients sounded like the drink would be sort of mild but indeed it packed a punch. We weren’t expecting it to be that strong. I believe the CIROC peach overpowered the other ingredients because you could barely taste the champagne. We were hoping to try a few other drinks but wasn’t able to completely get through our first one in order to move to the next. Second, the appetizers… Baby Kale Salad was interesting it stood out a little for the dressing and the cheese. Tomato Soup was presented very elegantly. I ordered this because I wanted to feel the texture from the croutons crunch, thinking the croutons would be served on top. The soup was in a porcelain container to be poured over the onions, diced tomatoes, croutons and cheese. The Pork chop with pomegranate sauce was cooked to perfection was very moist. Sauce was sweet but not too sweet. The potatoes, although nothing fancy, added that down home touch. The beer battered fish served with coleslaw and fries were surprisingly filling. The coleslaw was typical although the fries tasted as if they were sitting out for a while and wasn’t that appeasing to us. The bread was warm and served with a bed of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Although we love bread we really didn’t enjoy the balsamic vinegar with the bread. DESSERT, we decided to share for we couldn’t decide on just one. The Beignets were doughy blobs of goodness sprinkled with powder sugar and served with chocolate sauce and Grand Marnier whipped cream which wasn’t too sweet. The chocolate cake with the famous DOUBLETREE Caramel cookie crumbles was great. The Cheesecake topped with Strawberry sauce with blueberries and whipped cream on the side was rich and creamy. We couldn’t finish it all but didn’t want to pass it up, so we took the rest to go. Jesus was a blast! He kept us laughing throughout the night.
I can't say enough positive acculades about this superior dining establishment. Jenny, our waitperson was perfection personified. Everything was served with a flair. She is so gracious and made 'spot on' recommendations - loved our beef and fish dishes. Thanks to her, our dining experience was outstanding. You are greeted warmly by Bryanna upon entering this fine restaurant and showed promptly to your table with a 'can do' attitude. I still can't believe the Doubletree has such a world class restaurant. Special kudos to Jenny for a job well done. Food is outstanding, tasty and served elegantly.
Best hotel restaurant food in the SFO area. Try the pork chops.
