I've had 2 very different experiences at 37 North in the past month. The first was an enjoyable Thanksgiving Day lunch buffet. I was impressed by the quality and variety of food as well as the competent and friendly yet non-intrusive service. My family and I liked this visit so much that we decided to have Christmas Day lunch at 37 North as well. The dining room and bar/lounge were as spacious, bright and comfortably modern as before. However, the food and service were decidedly not as impressive as that on our first visit. For whatever reasons, the food was mediocre and our server seemed to lack basic service skills. We wondered what happened to a cocktail order that was forgotten...in a room that only had about 5 full tables. We tried to laugh when that drink--finally made and sitting on the bar counter--wasn't delivered to our table. We laughed harder when our server not only confirmed an order for a glass of Zinfandel but brought a glass of something obviously not a Zin. The last laugh came when my entree--billed as braised short ribs with mashed potatoes--only arrived with short ribs. (Come on! You gotta have mashed potatoes with short ribs!) Nothing was said about the mashed potatoes being MIA until I asked. The response, "Oh, we're out of them." No offer of a substitute, but I asked and got one 5 minutes later. Note to self: Thanksgiving Day buffet is grand. Christmas Day lunch is not.
Incredible food - nicely prepared. Service is always the very best. Nice assortment of menu items. From beef to fish to chicken, it's all there.
We come here once or twice a year from out of town; it is a custom for birthdays as we have good service, love the music (only on week-ends), good food and menu; easy access near airport or nearby towns.
Great Jazz!!! Seated immediately. Server was prompt and courteous. Cocktail was excellent. The slider appetizer was good, but the beef was definitely overdone. On the other hand, the Ribeye was out of this world! Overall, great experience, highly recommend.
This is truly a wonderful restaurant in the heart of the Doubletree hotel. The salmon, chicken wings, hamburger all sensational. Service by Argie was top notch. A wonderful find before you make you way to the airport.
Great service and eclectic menu at the Doubletree. This is a Burlingame gem. Everything is well done and nicely prepared with specialities from the chef.
This restaurant is located in the Doubletree Hotel and is a very nice place to dine after picking someone up at San Francisco airport. The dining room is large and adjoins the hotel lobby. There is often live music. It was a jazz combo the night we dined. The server, Jesus, was spot on with his service and recommendations. The dinner menu includes steak, pork loin, seafood, pastas, etc. The pork loin chop was exceptional. Also, the hand-crafted cocktails are great and there is a nice wine list. There is free or validated parking in the hotel lot.
Always look for Jesus to serve you. The Best MAN ever.
Wednesday is Happy Hour: 5PM - 6:30PM
This special place exudes in a quiet, romantic atmosphere. Nicely prepared dishes compliment outstanding service. The chef is top notch and definitely has a flair for preparing a wonderful variety of items.
Outstanding service. Definitely not expected in a airport hotel restaurant. Great food as well!
The Restaurant has good food. Our server Jesus was extraordinary. He was proactive in his service and anticipated our every need. He knew the menu and could answer any questions and make great suggestions .
He made our dining experience worth it all
This is a great spot when traveling to have a good meal and not leave the hotel. Bloody Mary Jumbo Prawn cocktail is a great appetizer for 2 people. We live local and want to have a special dinner for two. Once we arrived we realized it wasn't exactly a romantic setting. So we flipped our mindset and enjoyed a few appetizers and watched the sporting events on all the TV's. The food and service was very good.
Look for Jesus to serve you
Excellent food and service - surprised it was not busier give the quality on offer.
Enjoyed a good glass of local Cabernet with calamari and the fish tacos. It was great to have live jazz being played.
Always great and tasty fare. Service is noteworthy and the drinks from the bar are top notch. The chef uses such a variety of different ingredients to make it all very special.
While I did say I would recommend this place to a friend, I was disappointed in the experience this time. Lee, the server, was great, but I was unhappy that they were unprepared for the large group of 13 we had. They said we must have just made the reservation (which was not true) and they spent some time arranging tables to accommodate and didn't appear to be happy about it. However, there was no one else at the restaurant at the time - and there were three people standing around not very busy. A large party from Virgin America came by a bit later, but it was otherwise empty. The timing of the food was extremely slow - I can't blame the server, but we should have said something to the chef when he came out (which was awkward as he stood there for a bit making conversation even though we were in the middle of a meeting). I will visit again at some point in the future, but not really soon and definitely not with a large party, which is unfortunate.
Price was acceptable for meal, but was hoping for better.
A wonderful restaurant with delicious food. The service was outstanding!
A most enjoyable meal and experience at this hotel

For a hotel restaurant and for quantity of the food, it was pricey (deviled eggs app. of 3 halves was $6, 2 shrimp was $10. I also had the fish tacos, which were very good. I recommend the restaurant, but beware it will cost you.
Nice relaxing atmosphere especially if you go on a night (Thursday through Saturday) when the Jazz trio is playing. Service is excellent.
Carmen was very tuned in, as she gave me a to go Ice Tea to take back to my room with my to go
Spectacular restaurant with an amazing menu. The chef is outstanding. We had an incredible kale salad, rib eye steak that was cooked to perfection and outstanding service by Carmen. Job well done and a wonderful, memorable experience. Run, don't walk to this incredible gem. Great chicken wings too...
Chef Larry and team put out a delicious and creative menu that was both impressive and approachable. Don't avoid this venue because it's in a hotel, this restaurant has great food, great service, and is truly a hidden gem!
Okay ! Good service
I guess we expected more for 65.00 per person. The food was bland and the service was fair at best. It felt like a poorly planned reception, even the food placement and presentation was poor. It just wasn't the experience I had hoped for, for my wife on Mother's Day.
I brought 3 special Moms with me & they were impressed with my choice...esp my wife who did not expect I would be able to find a good reservation at short notice. Open Table recommendation helped! We found the selection for Mother's Day not too much nor too intimidating & tempting to overindulge! It was the choices we would be caring for anyways!
Our first time here. I read reviews and wasn't sure what to expect. We had 11:15 reservations. It's 2 blocks from SFO (daughter landed at 10:00) so we left time to drive and find parking. Finding it wasn't a problem. There was adequate parking. We were sat at table at 11:15. Mothers each got a long stem rose. 2 piece music ensemble playing in background. Buffet lunch. Lovely spread. Huge fruit table (fresh). Large tables of various food items from pastries, various meats and seafood, breakfast omelet section. (I'm not vegan so not sure about whether their food requirements were met). Overall very good and fresh. Staff was very attentive, checking with us and removing plates. My family enjoyed it. We are planning Father's Day reservations for their Patio BBQ event. :)
My family and I went here for the first time for Easter Brunch and I was disappointed with the selection and quality of food. The eggs benedict was hard and tasteless, the waffles were soggy, the french fries were cold and undercooked (my kids wouldn't even touch them), and the shrimp was not cleaned. For spending $45/person, it was not worth it and although I could have said something to the manager it was not worth it, I just won't be returning.
Last year there was a bigger selection. When we went at 11:00 a lot of the menu was nowhere to be found!
What a find! The convenience to SFO is matched by the quality of food and service. Ask to be served by Jesus who provides excellent advice on the choice of courses and is marvelously personable. Our party of four enjoyed a booth where it was very easy to have a conversation despite the openness of the dining area in relation to the lobby. Cocktails with the truffled potato chips were a great start to the evening, the variety and quality of breads were pleasantly surprising, and the salad and entrees were immensely satisfying. We also appreciated the hostess stopping by to see how everything was going.
This was a very mediocre restaurant. Noisy, slow service. I would skip this next time.
The first time I came here to celebrate my birthday with a couple of friends I had a great experience. That's why I decided to take my girlfriend here for her birthday celebration. In my open table reservation Comments I put " if we decide to order dessert, please surprise my girlfriend with a candle. Thanks." When the waiter brought out a cheesecake, he gave it to me with writing that said happy birthday and spelled my name wrong. When he brought it out again after we explained to him and the manager that it was my girlfriends birthday, they also spell her name wrong. When the check came, they charged us for the cheese cake which I was not happy with because neither of us like cheesecake and we were not given the opportunity to order the desert that we would have eaten and would have mind paying for. It just seems like if they brought out a dessert from their choosing, it should have been complimentary. Anyway, because of the disappointing look the manager gave the waiter I didn't want to cause him any more problems so I just decided it wasn't worth complaining about. I did appreciate that she requested that the band play happy birthday again, but I don't think I will be returning. This is not the first time at an Open Table restaurant where are my comments regarding a surprise birthday candle was not followed, I don't even know why open table has that option if the restaurant is not going to respect your wishes. I've had waiters come over and say happy birthday after we were seated, that's not really surprising the birthday person with a dessert candle is it?
Great find for quick and good food - prompt service. They even offer live band (dining music) on certain nights. Pleasantly surprised to find this place - we will go back again.
The restaurant was empty and food was ok. Service was good. I am disappointed that Open Table did not honor the 1000 points. It was one of the reasons we booked at the time
Surprisingly the food was very good. We used open table for a reservation but wasn't necessary for lunch at least. I tried the pork chop and it was cooked perfectly. My only complaint is the food server got my husbands order wrong and only brought me half of my order but still tried to charge us.
Surprisingly great. There was a band playing for the dinner crowd. I had the pasta with English peas. Very yummy. My husband had the calamari salad and loved it.
I guess it gets busy at times but our lunch was quiet and tasty. If you want somewhere to meet near SFO this is a good find. Make sure to validate your parking at front desk.
