Enjoyed a late night dinner at 34 and was not disappointed. Have been a few times before and was actually surprised by how many people were still there at 11pm. Good vibe and feel. Only minor issue was when we were brought another bottled water we did not ask for and ended getting charged, my fault for not sending back but such is life.
Great place for Steak
Waiters forgot specifics of our order and were really delaying the food.
Nothing special. The food was ok presented but nothing extra. Maybe we had too high expectations because of the good reviews written.
The restaurant manager told us they needed the table back after 2 hours. We had just been served after dinner drinks and would have been done in 10 minutes. Really a lack of class.
My best dinner of ever the food was amazing but the best was the service, impeccable and fast.
I have been to 34 several times
It is always a good experience, the food is excellent and the vibe of the restaurant is really positive
I marked service down a little as, whilst many of the staff are engaging and helpful, one or two of the servers are a little grumpy. A smile when you are putting the food on the table never goes amiss
However that is a fairly small issue in what is otherwise a very enjoyable and positive experience
I regularly dine in some of London’s best restaurants. Although it’s easy to find great quality food in London I find that excellent service is not that easy to come by. 34 Mayfair has nailed both and not only delivers outstanding quality food but with seamless service. We were treated by a couple of doormen (which is a dying custom) and were swiftly served at the main desk. We were served throughout the night by various members of staff but it was a seamless service. Our water glasses constantly being topped up, empty dishes being removed quickly and polite “check ins” to see if the food and drinks were as they should. The chateaubriand for two is truly delicious - a melt in the mouth cut of meat. Will go again!
It was fabulous, as always. I have been here several times and there has never been anything I had to complain about.
It was our first night in London and my husband's birthday! Fabulous restaurant to kick off our holiday!
Best food we’ve had in years. Magnificent.
As expected our beef was superb. Very generous portions so after a starter and main course we did not have space for a dessert
Very sexy place .. class is ouzing around the restaurant
Truly amazing food. The dishes are beautifully presented and the staff are very friendly and helpful. This has now become are most favourite restaurant in London.
Fantastic service and incredible food! Definitely coming back again.
New year's eve
Terrific ambience, food and friendly staff. Nothing but good things to say about my experience.
Very disappointing evening, service was weak and food average at best
It was our first visit to 34 Mayfair and we were so pleased to find a cosy yet elegant atmosphere enhanced by the live piano. The food was fantastic, especially cote de boeuf got many compliments. Service was very attentive. A lovely evening overall!
I've been here a few times now. It's consistently good, and has a nice atmosphere. For me, I would say it's good for business lunch or dinner, or for a slightly more formal occasion in the evening. All round, it's an authentic restaurant & the standard of food & service is excellent. The menu is also nicely balanced
Sadly our the service was terrible today. The bread arrived way too late just right before starters while all other tables got their bread baskets as soon as they sat ! Also, it took almost 45 min after starters to get our main courses & then when it finally arrived it was cold & they had to return the side orders to the kitchen to be reheated which then arrived after we finished our meal.
On a nutshell, last night was such a bad experience with 34 & the fact that you received a notification that we didn't show up is a clear indication of the mess the restaurant was tonight although it was just 4 tables at our dining time!
Every time we go to 34 we get the best customer service and the food will always be fantastic. Up there with my favourite London restaurants!! I had the surf and turf to share.... Insanely good!
Enjoyed the Sunday Brunch Menu
Plenty of choices for everyone- Roast Beef
And sides - extremely good
Tuna from main menu - excellent quality, good flavorable creative dish
Service was excellent - staff was very accommodating
Would definitely recommend, noise level was low you can talk without shouting !!
34 Mayfair is a beautifully decorated restaurant specializing in steaks and other grilled meats. i was there for brunch and the steak frites was wonderful. Service was attentive, but not special, and this is clearly a watering hole for the wealthy of Mayfair. Warm apple pie for dessert was also very nice. There is a nice selection of wines by the glass. The main quibble came with the bill--A 2 pound "cover charge"--give me a break! I have not encountered a cover charge at a fine restaurant in the UK in ages, so how does management justify an additional 2 Pounds when their prices are already extremely high? Perhaps they are still paying off the decorating bill (reputedly done by Liberty of London)??? Or perhaps they are just trying to squeeze a few more pence out of their well-heeled clients? Either way, this is very tacky!
One of my new favorites- great food and service!
Very nice place
Don't get me wrong - it's very nice, but WTF is a restaurant of this standing doing charging £2 a head cover! As if their prices aren't already insane enough. Quality is good but almost £200 for lunch for two with only one glass of wine and no dessert - Come on! and then .....£2 / head cover charge. It's a bit of an insult IMO.
Fantastic place!! Awsome atmosphere. Food really taste and with freshness ingredients!!
Very good as usual
I had a great time at 34 this weekend. It is a well known London restaurant and while some classic places like that end up being under my expectations, 34 was great - atmosphere was great, it is beautifully decorated with a collaboration with Liberty and the place is classic but does not feel stiffy. I had the cod with olives & tomatoes and mashed potatoes and it was absolutely delicious. Wine was great too. The lemon dessert was great and so was the apple pie. My only negative comment is that one of the waitresses did not seem to speak English well and misunderstood our dessert order so we ended up with the doughnuts too which were a bit mediocre.
It was very cold inside.
Smart New York style restaurant in Mayfair. Not cheap but worth it if you're in the mood.
Food was great, service was good although there was quite a long wait between starters and main - at least 45mins - that could be vastly improved.
Otherwise a great place for a leisurely lunch rather than a business lunch.
Excellent steak and a lovely atmosphere with some
Thank y very much it was a greate pleasure the last dissert
love this place. great service good food even value for money by mayfair standards will be back
Great quality food. It's a very nice restaurant with a comfortable atmosphere, not stuffy at all, we were able to laugh without disrupting eerie silence! It was perfect for a special occasion, as the quality of cuisine and service matched our expectations of the Mayfair neighborhood. The brunch menu has a lot of choice and everything was tasty in just the right portion. The staff was nice and attentive, although it was quite busy when we were there. One of our new favorite places, will be back again.
Superb, unfussy food, in a fine ambience, with gracious service.
Comme il faut, and more.
This is the third time I go to this restaurant. I found the service not good. The waiter did serve the wine properly and this created lots of stains on the table cloth. We happened to have the same person second time and this happened twice. I found that the cost versus value was too high. Food ok but nothing special to justify the cost. Ambiance was good . I would recommend this place for lunch but they need to improve on the service.
34 Mayfair located next the United States embassy on Grosvenor Square (entrance on a side street called South Audley Street) is a pleasant surprise. We booked a table for ten in the evening While its Mayfair location would dictate a formal exclusive setting, 34 Mayfair is inviting and relaxing. The entrance door is looked after two sharply dressed doormen that set the scene for what is to come inside. The interior is warm, classic and dimly lit with a bar located at one end. The menu is surprisingly simple offering raw dishes, salads, meats, fish and classics such as spaghetti meatballs. The service is extraordinarily aligned to the needs of every table, ensuring immediate attention without being overbearing. The dessert menu is a combination of classics such as cheesecake, ice cream prepared with a twist. Having ordered the ceviche and foie gras as starters the preparation was fresh, delicate but full of flavor. While the British heritage sirloin was slightly rough, the American sirloin is far more tender. For dessert, we selected the liberty mouse which was like nothing we had tasted before - yet it was surprisingly satisfying. The overall bill for two starters, two mains, four juices and a dessert added to £175. 34 Mayfair is a pleasure across the board.
