320 Main Ratings and Reviews
320 Main not only has amazing food, but also a rotating menu spotlight on happy hour cocktails, Tuesday Tiki and Whiskey Wednesday just to name a few. At a $5 starting price, feel free to try something that piques your interest. The cocktails are made with the same care as the food. Oh did I mention the food? Good portion size, not to small and not to big, yet enough to share bites around the table. There is no dessert on the menu. Trust me, you won't miss it.
It was a special occasion and we were hosting dinner for another couple to celebrate. The food was very good and the ambiance was wonderful. The hostess was attentive to our request for quiet seating to accommodate a hard-of-hearing guest.
Our disappointment was rooted in the lack of service. We were never asked if we wanted cocktails. Once we did receive them (at our request) we had to ask for refills. We had to ask for bread and when we did receive it, we got 3 pieces in the basket to serve four diners (and then we had to request a refill). We were never asked whether we wanted dessert; we had to ask for that, too. We never got the chance to request coffee, decaf or after dinner beverages. Our server was scarce and uninterested when she did stop by.
surprised hubby for his birthday dinner with a new restaurant as he is a big foodie. I read the reviews and all was true to form... big portions and a variety of dishes so different from other run of the mill places with excellent preparation and presentation. No worries that there is no dessert menu. Free chocolate chip cookies fit the bill after an enormous dinner. The bone marrow wellington, the half wedge salad, and THE PORK CHOP tomahawk OMG! We will defintielt be back to try other menu items. It was whiskey and wine night; other patrons were enjoying but we are not W&W folks. That did not stop us from enjoying such a reputable and pleasing establishment.
Interesting and delicious options, and the drinks were the best part! Service got better as time went on, our section was pretty crowded for one server. But she brought us a free appetizer to sample and graciously helped us with a spill, very sweet! The food could use some presentation work, and some flavor was missing from a few items, but overall it was delicious and great value for the prices. Would definitely come here again, and sit outside.
The attention of the servers and bartender and their knowledge of the menu, food and cocktails. Well done. Cheeseburger and fries were tasty and ample. Gas House Egg was a bit bland and disappointing. Bread was literally burned around the edges and tasted like it. Buffalo Chicken Tenders were incredible. Sauce was perfect with crumbled Bleu cheese. We'll be back.
My friends and I have been frequenting 320 Main for years. They are VERY accommodating for groups and are very reasonably priced for fun cocktails and hearty appetizers. The food is very rich but great for sharing. Also, we have a two year old we bring on occasion and the staff is very accommodating. It's not a super child-friendly restaurant, but it is definitely do-able!
We have been to 320 Main twice now within one month for dinner. Both times they were out of our chosen entrees. They were apologetic both times. This time they mentioned they were about to release a new menu. We had a steak dish which was very good and we also tried their short ribs which were also good. The server was friendly both times and we appreciated their efforts to accommodate our seating preference in the small restaurant.
This restaurant has a European bistro feel on the cute Main Street in Seal beach. There is limited outdoor seating. Next time we may choose to just come for drinks and appetizers. No corkage on Wednesday and the Bourbon flights will bring us back at least for drinks and appetizers.
I don't come here that often but my daughter was down from San Francisco (she is a foodie) and I was looking for something good on a Sunday night. Found it!
Four if us shared the home-made Doritos and the Mac and Cheese for starters. Excellent!
We each something different for entrees and all agreed that 320 Main was a great call for dinner.
I love the food at 320 Main. Unfortunately, the kitchen was having problems on the night we were there -- either they were understaffed or half of the kitchen equipment was not working. It took a very long time for our meal to come out -- over an hour, in fact, for one of the appetizers we ordered. The staff knew, however, apologized profusely and then comped our entire meal, including the two Harvest Moons I guzzled. The service problems were an anomaly -- I've been there before and had no problems. The food, when it arrived, was delicious -- the Bone Marrow Wellington and the Scallops, in particular, were delights! The staff did all they could do to manage a tough situation, and we would not hesitate to come back.
Looking for a localish steak place last minute and found this gem. The people were friendly and truthful about the menu. The drinks we so well done that even if you got here on a fixie bike with skinny jeans sporting an ironic mustache you'd still like them.
Food was amazing. Duck poutin was incredible. The salmon was honestly ridiculous good. Thought about it all day and it wasn't even my dish. I had the rib eye. Almost didn't need a knife.
We will be back!
Absolutely lovely. The wait staff were so nice and cheerful. Food was very tasty. I didn't give it a 5 for these reasons, wedge salad was so delicious, but drenched in dressing. It could have had more blue cheese and less actual dressing, a lighter version would be perfect. My dinner was the roasted chicken, very very tasty, but the egg yolk was a little different and not appetizing. My husband ordered the risotto, very tasty, but too much citrus and way too much cheese. It almost tasted as an Alfredo style risotto, not very good. Risotto is tastier when simply lightly made with cheese, not making it into a sauce. Next time, asking for light on citrus and cheese.
I've been here lots of times, including the last fried chicken dinner night and I have to say this was one of the least impressive visits. Which is a shame because I brought a newbie to 320 with me. Our first batch of chicken was not cooked enough, they charged us $10 for Mac and cheese each time we ordered it, even though the dinner was supposed to be all you can eat, and when we had just a little bit of leftovers they wouldn't let us take them, except for the Mac and cheese (last time they did). And the service was blah. We were rarely checked on, and she wasn't particularly friendly. Very disappointing visit overall.
I loved the food here! We brought my mom here for her birthday and she was ecstatic! The ambiance was great and the menu was superb. This place is a little small, and the service was slow, but the food was well worth the wait. We went on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't too busy and they made a point to provide my mom with a special birthday dessert. All in all, a great find.
We made a 7:00 reservation for three and weren't seated until 7:40. The food was overpriced, and one person's meal was sent back because it was so salty. This was after a lengthy wait for the food to be served in the first place. We were told there was a new chef, so I don't know if that was the problem, but overall this was a disappointment.
Our server was terrific but the food was a huge disappointment. The salmon was dy and way over-cooked and the ciopino (I don't know how to spell it) was not worth the money--I've had much better at other places. I was extremely disappointed! The brussel sprout appetizer was very good.
After reading through the reviews and hearing how this place was a hidden gem, I decided to book a reservation for 320 Main! Online reservation was a Godsend; the process was entirely effortless. My party and I arrive at the restaurant around 6:30, and I was surprised to see the place empty, aside from the bar patrons. The place quickly filled up around 7:00. Our server (her name was Emily, I believe) and the hostess were the absolute best. Attentive service with a smile, is the most anyone can ask for. The cocktails here were spot on! I had an Old Fashioned and a Detroiter. I would recommend the Detroiter... who knew a Stone IPA and apple brandy would taste so good together!?
For dinner, I ordered the duck fries and their cheeseburger, with two slices of butcher's bacon on top. The duck fries were delicious! I just kept dipping everything into that aioli sauce until it was gone. My cheeseburger was a disappointment, sadly. I'll happily eat a burger with any kind of bun. Ciabatta, as I founded out that night, was not one of them. My mouth was salivating as I saw how melted the cheddar looked on the meat patty. As I bit into the meat, I was confused at how bland and unseasoned the meat tasted. The bacon was the only high point of that burger. Thick, sweet, and smokey.
I'll be coming back to this hidden gem for another bite soon enough. Despite my juvenile decision to have ordered a burger(getting a steak next time), at a grandiose establishment like 320 Main, the dinner experience was not ruined for me, saved by the duck fries, wonderful service, and fine alcohol.
Kim was our server and she was amazing she knew the nenu and was very helpful me and my wife ordered the chefs menu and let me tell you it was great i started off with sashimi style local grouper with citrus oils and frill thrn we had meatballs and ploenta followed by lobster corn dog then foie groi pate then a cheese platter which contained a bleu chesee foam that tasted flawless follwed by peanut butter semi freddo and lemon semi freddo super goodt nothkng but good things i have to say about this place i will br coming back
Had a great brunch on a cold, rainy day. Had the kielbasa and soft scrambled eggs. Best scrambled eggs I've ever had. Didn't think you could get excited about scrambled eggs. Absolutely perfect eggs. Kielbasa not too spicy not too bland. Big portions. Toast/bread and jam appeared to be home made. Great service. YUM!
The drinks are strong and good, but the food is just ok, and the restaurant itself is a bit small. Make a reservation if you planning on dining here.
My husband had the 320 burger with a side salad and said it was just ok. He said he could of gotten a better tasting burger at In and Out, and for less money.
I had the Beef and Cheddar Sandwich with fries. It was ok, but a little blan. It says it has a Red Onion Marmalade on it, but there was hardly any on it. Way to much cheddar gravy, needed way more marmalade to give it more of a taste if you ask me. The fries were just meh.
The service was great though. Very on top of things and very nice.
I wish I could of given it a better review since I had heard such great things from friends. I would go back though for happy hour or just cocktails and maybe appetizers, but not for dinner.
