Whether it’s for a quick latte, a glass of wine and a cheese plate, a MN craft beer or a show, we would love to see you. There is a fireplace for cold winter days, a little patio for summer sun and an ample parking lot…the 318 Café crew happily welcomes you!
The live music was pleasant. The crowd was NOT. When I looked for a fun place to go with friends we had heard there’s live music and we thought we could sit and chat during a casual concert. But no! The crowd was so intense and if we uttered a word we got glared at by the fellow patrons. We couldn’t wait to get out of there and go have some fun! Apologies to the artists you had singing, audience way too intense for a casual Friday eve. Food: I could have made that charticurie board at home, but mine would be much better! It was so-so. Generic. The date night pizza was very tasty. The wine list was nice. We had the Italian Chardonnay, good !
Food was excellent and priced right. Music was amazing! We wouldn't change a thing!
Great venue with FANTASTIC music
Nice atmosphere. Not your typical bar food. Service outstanding.
Love the fixed meal events by 318!!!
The 318 Cafe went above and beyond to make our Valentine's Day wonderful!
My husband, our adult daughter, and I went to the 318 Cafe for the first time for Valentine's Day. They had a special four course fixed menu special with two seatings at 5 and 7. We did not understand this when we made our 4:45 reservation. We had needed to eat early to get home to give our dog her epilepsy medicine at 6:30 sharp. (This medication needs to be given at exactly 12 hour intervals every day.) We arrived at the 318 Cafe and were confused. They were very patient about explaining the menu and seating. When we voiced our concern about the timing, they assured us they would serve us each course first and get us out the door by 6:15. When we realized we had to order from the fixed menu, our daughter decided she didn't really want to eat as much food as the menu choices would provide. We shared her concern and they let her and I share a plate. When my husband spilled his entire glass of red wine, they didn't bat an eye, but moved us to a new table. I felt that they graciously deflected every obstacle we put up. The food was marvelous, the service delightful and when it was clear, we weren't going to be able to have dessert and make it home in time, they boxed up one of everything and sent us on our way! We made it home just in time to give our dog her medication. It is no exaggeration to say that the 318 Cafe went out of their way to insure our Valentine's Day dinner was as special as possible!
great music with Ali Gray and great experience all around. Great food, great service.
We love 318. The staff is always so friendly and the music is top notch!
Get the T A B sandwich and apple crisp for desert. Delish!’
Everything was wonderful other than reservations aren’t honored on “open mic” evenings! Was disappointed with that but the evening turned out great!
Found this café online. Loved the atmosphere, food and beer. Very enjoyable experience. Will be back
The 318 is an Excelsior community treasure. Period.
Terrific venue to listen to music. Good food and service.
I came to the 318 cafe last Friday for the papa john concert. I really loved the 318 cafe, the atmosphere, the sound, the staff was very kind and welcoming and the food was also great. It was a great evening and I will definitely go there again. Thank you so much!
We had dinner at 7 and then stayed for the live music which started at 8. The food was quite good and the music was excellent. The cheese and charcuterie board was good although a bit expensive at $20. We each had flatbread pizzas which were quite good and larger than we thought. The crust was good but thicker than we expected for flatbread and one pizza would have been sufficient for us along with charcuterie. During the show we tried the chocolate chip cookie and the chocolate truffle and both were excellent. We also tried the peanut butter mocha cappuccino which they were able to make in decaf. It was really good.
We were a party of 4 friends who ate at the 318 Cafe on a Friday at 5:00 pm. It was quiet for a while but the energy picked up at about 6:00 - too bad they missed the happy hour specials. We loved the beet hummus (beautiful color, and it really tasted like beet), pork nachos (a smallish portion, but with a generous amount of delicious pork) and quesadilla (fat with cheese and veggies). We will be back!
We love going to concerts at this place. Menu is a little lacking and expensive, but worth it when going to see the musical performances.
My favorite spot for great food/live music.
Great service, great food and great music.
Only complaint was people standing by our table to listen to music. We had to complain before waitress asked them to find a place to sit.
We loved the Chris Holtmeier Trio! Food was good--not too expensive.
Our out of town guests loved 318 as much as we do!
Ali Gray was fantastic, the food was great and the atmosphere was really nice as well.
The venue isn't set up very well to listen to music, even though they have it often. It is very very crowded seating and you don't face the stage. Very difficult to even get out of my chair or try and turn to view the stage. Five in our party thought the food was fair and one thought it was bad. The service was also only fair. Waitress spilled a few of our beverages. She was over worked. The band was great, Daisy Dillman, but not worth the $25 cover for what we got. That was our second time there and not much different from the first.
Listen to Scottie Miller Christmas musical
Loved it....intimate setting, good food, great sound and a wonderful evening
Food was great, first time here. Great place to listen to music.
I really enjoy this cafe and its live music during the week! They have an awesome happy hour with really good drinks. I love the overall vibe and I highly recommend you check it out!
We enjoyed the venue and stage area. The guys were great!
We listened to a great jazz band play! Also had dinner and drinks. The ambiance is amazing! We had a wonderful time and definitely will be back.
Great meal and entertainment by No Mans String Band. Love that place!!!
I LOVED the "Date Night" pizza : ) ! It has dates for sweetness, blue cheese and ham with balsamic for savory and arugula on top. Amazing!
318 has great music and sandwiches - Tuna Melt is wonderful! Desserts always good
318 Cafe is always great. We love the live music, the staff are always very friendly and professional, food is excellent. Kinda loud depending on the night, but that comes with the territory. This is my wife and I's favorite date night spot in the southwest Metro.
Would return but would enjoy experience more with more attentive service.
The listening room ambience was wonderful. Enjoyed the music and the food and wine were delicious.
The food was great, wine was good and affordable, and the music was delightful.
Service was fantastic. Friendly, prompt, and always one step ahead of what you would need. We had a wonderful evening with great drinks and music.
Birthday evening! Everything was awesome! Server Alexis was phenomenal ‘
We saw Bryan White at the 318 Cafe! Drove from Madison, WI. The wait staff was so kind, quick, attentive, friendly! Small venue, but so quaint! Great sound, great food, good wine, and latte’!!! Wish I lived closer..... I would go every weekend!!!
I’d recommend the beet salad be mixed greens and not all arugula, which is a bitter green. I was only able to eat less than half. A few onions would be a nice addition as well. The citrus dressing was very good.
