Atmosphere was nice. Service was extremely slow, only 1 waitress. All 3 courses came together. My husband and I ordered the same exact thing and mine was extremely salty. I hate sending food back so I just didn’t eat it - it was a $35 plate and I only ate about 20% of my plate due to the high salt on my plate. The place has the potential but need to get additional wait staff, spread out the courses and bring them one by one with enough time in between, and have consistency on the meals. Don’t think I would good back - dinner for 2 $160 which was not worth it.
Especially convenient if you're attending a Symphoria concert
Food was exceptional and well presented. Service was good but lacked the kind of professionalism that would earn 5 stars. Great ambiance and charming environment. Would definitely come back again to try out more menu selections.
First times here. We went for an anniversary dinner. We split a delicious duck confit pouting for first course. Outstanding texture and flavor. Entrees were salmon and veal shank. Both very well prepared and filling. A nice time and we will be back. Wine, beer but no liquor served.
Fantastic!! Food was amazing service was great
Lovely restaurant, delicious food, great wine & beer list, friendly staff, pleasant ambiance, great place for date night! If you're having a party for 20 or so, the lower level is a wonderful place!
We made a reservation for a special occasion to catch up with good friends who we had not physically seen for 5 years. We live in CT and they live in Rochester NY.
We were given a great table near the window "out of the way" so that we could catch up.
Wonderful server (can't recall that we caught her name-- middle aged woman) and the owner checked in with us a few times. Nice touch.
Focused menu but every offering tasty (we shared a number of things). Short rib risotto is a bit filling but you know that given what it is. VERY good. Also had the special pasta (ravioli). Minor feedback that the scallops were small but Syracuse is not exactly on the sea-- would Syracusans pay up for jumbo sea scallops?
We brought special bottles of wine from our cellar which were accommodated via corkage fee. Note that they do not serve hard liquor/cocktails since they are located within "x" number of feet from a church across street. Knew that in advance so we went to Orbis Lounge (highly recommend-- the bartendress was excellent and easily made anything we wanted) before and after. It's a 5 minute walk-- maximum.
Overall, would return if we are in the area!
Tried 317 at Montgomery for the first time as a holiday meal with out of town guests. The restaurant has excellent reviews and is ranked at the top of Syracuse restaurants, for good reason — everything was perfect. My party ordered the duck confit poutine to start, which was exceptional with crisp fries, tender duck, delicious rosemary perfumed gravy and a cheese curds that was perfectly portioned for our party of three and nicely plated for sharing. We also had the scallops (delicious), salmon (also tasty), and pork shank. The pork shank is a show stopper — beautifully cooked sous-vide and served with creamy polenta and sweet and sour Brussels sprouts. The service was excellent and the venue is a tastefully decorated converted storefront. I’m delighted to now know that 317 at Montgomery is a standout in the Syracuse restaurant scene, and I’m looking forward to returning for another special meal soon.
We love everything about this restaurant!! The butternut squash ravioli are amazing!
Two appetizers and three entries were all quite good. Service was friendly and reasonably efficient. Definitely would return
Good place to bring friends. Downtown location is convenient.
Small portions and high prices. Good food.
We asked for a quiet and intimate table, and were given exactly that! Food delicious and beautiful in presentation. The service was impeccable, with staff waiting till conversation ebbed at our table, before venturing over to check on us. We will be back!
Have us great bar recommendation ………………..,,..,……..
I’m a repeater. Unique menu items, super excellent service, great atmosphere.
Decided to try here before a show. Staff was extremely friendly. Decent beer and wine list - they do not do cocktails. Duck poutine was amazing!! I had the pork shank and my friend had the braised beef mushroom risotto- both were absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to go back!
We came to celebrate our anniversary. Excellent food, good wine selection, fantastic service. We will be back!
Seated us promptly. Waitress was harried, one waitress for entire dining room. We were celebrating special occasion. I indicated that on online reservation and called twice with special instructions. Waitress had no idea about any special occasion instructions. We ordered sirloin entree. Salad was very generous & fresh w/ one choice of dressing. Beef was grilled to perfection & delicious. There was no soup on menu & no bread service. If u enjoy coffee, their French Press is delicious.
We love everything about this restaurant! Great food, service, atmosphere, and prices.
Very good food and nice atmosphere. Staff was very friendly AMD attentive.
Absolutely fantastic food! Lovely environment and nice wine to go with your meal. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates a delicious meal.
Loved the restaurant! The meals had a creativity of food combinations and flavors. Will definitely return when I’m back in the area. Staff was super nice too.
Great food at a very reasonable price! A rare combo!!
Nice atmosphere as well. Music is totally old school (like grandparents age) and a bit loud, but it didn’t terribly detract from the sumptuous feast. I’ll be back.
Parents weekend. Excellent food and warm atmosphere. Highly recommend
Looked for a restaurant close to our hotel-did not disappoint!
Great ambiance, easy to converse within our group.
The food was excellent and well prepared! We had 4 different entrees and all were superb! Nice customer service!
This is definitely a restaurant we will return to upon our next visit to Syracuse!!
My wife and I had an anniversary date at 317. It was our first time visiting and was very pleased with the food. The owner met us at our table and introduced the menu and restaurant. The night was a little slow, but was perfect for a great dinner for 2.
We arrived at 5:30 and were first in the door so it was quiet and the service was attentive. The food was excellent. Not an extensive menu but our two meals were very well prepared. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. A relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Awesome personal service! Food prepared and presented with great care. The 3 milk cake was exceptional!! Not first visit and clearly not the last.
Food was excellent. Goat cheese and roasted beet pasta outstanding. Great service.
The service was great, and the food was even better! Definitely going back.
We had a great dinner at 317 Montgomery on a quiet Friday night. My filet was cooked perfectly and my husband’s chorizo risotto was delicious. We go out to various Syracuse restaurants every Friday. Haven’t been to this one in quite awhile. The prices were equitable to Francesca’s or Eden’s, but well worth it!
Each dish was perfectly prepared. Super friendly service.
Excellent food with small town international feel.
It was excellent!!! We will be back
Fantastic meal and wonderful people. We had a lovely night.
A great meal and time at 317 Montgomery! Great service too.
We love dining at 317! Every time we are here we have an exquisite meal and fabulous personalized service. Highly recommend this spot, you will not be disappointed! Don’t forget dessert, homemade, fresh and delicious as well!
Enjoyed a cosy date night. Service was great. Had the salmon which was delicious.
This is a nice little restaurant in a beautiful old building right downtown. The food was good, the wine was very nice, and we really enjoyed our meal.
We were very pleased with our experience. We were their last table for the evening and our server, Donna was knowledge and friendly. I enjoyed the market fish entree, which was salmon, it was delicious. My companion chose the beet and goat cheese pasta, which may sound off putting to some , but having sampled it, it was delicious and satisfying. The ambiance was lovely. We enjoyed the architectural detail too.
We’re happy we chose this as our destination for the evening.
