The servers were outstanding! Very friendly, attentive, offered good suggestions & worked together as a team!
We were visiting from Atlanta. We loved it so much we ate here twice. Really good food and service.
Service was disappointing. Server dropped a soda on my daughter and did not come back to check on the clean up. Drinks were not refilled.
Good service, good food. We go there often before the theater.
My family and I had a great time here. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and professional. Will definitely be coming back.
This was a pre-theatre meal. The service from greeting to leaving was warm and most professional. We had cocktails, shared salad, wine with meal. Two dinners had branzino, and they said it was ok, (the waiter had recommended the salmon). My spouse had a scallop appetizer as an entree which she liked. I had chicken over polenta and vegetables, yummy but chicken breast was a little over-cooked. The breads there are awesome, we all devoured it.
The food is pricey, it is a slurge, special occasion destination.
very good food - loved the wine list and fabulous service
Excellent service. High quality food. Business meeting spot, it was perfect.
Had two delightful dinners. Our waiter Antonio was fabulous, service overall excellent and food delicious. We were on a business trip and had such a lovely and peaceful dinner the first night, decided to come back. Even better.
Food uneven from extraordinary Brussels sprouts to inedible overdressed salad.
Great for post-wedding breakfast with our parents! Staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Only negative experience was the lack of accessibility as one of my mom's was in a wheelchair and had to take a long, back route and the restaurant had very narrow rows between tables.
Everything was great - we had three generations of family with us and everyone loved the food. Excellent Italian dishes prepared extremely well. We ate 4 (!) desserts and they were all fantastic. Service was wonderful - knowledgable, friendly, patient and attentive. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it!
Always wonderful...We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday & then off to the Opera House for a concert....The food and service is the best and our Marina kept us on schedule....A great start to a beautiful evening.
2nd time here and it was great again! Their pasta is awesome. The salmon had a crispy crust and was very tasty. Can’t wait to come back.
Everything was great! The staff was nice and the food was great!
Lamb shank was very tender and tasty. Brussels Sprouts appetizer was outstanding. Scallops were done just right. Beginning with the hostess to the bartender to the wait staff, we were treated like good friends. What a delightful experience.
It's almost hard to buy a bad Italian meal in Chicago. Places that don't get it reasonably right just don't last. But that level of competition makes distinguishing yourself as a chef pretty hard, too. 312's kitchen staff have done that. Perfect seasoning, artful presentation, clever adaptations of some classics all make 312 a great place.
Flew in from Vegas and had to take my Daughter there after a play. This is my second time here, visited a year ago, and was on my need to go back list.
A dining must if you visit the Windy City!
We had a delicious brunch before going to the theater.
This restaurant is exceptional. The best place to eat in the area. The chef does not mess around. He knows his food
Ask for Marino for your waitress! Excellent, attentive, fun service.
Have definitely enjoyed the food here. The octopus dishes (appetizer and main course) are terrific. Extremely fresh. Great place for pre-theatre, especially if going to the Cadillac as it is just next door. Don't have to rush and can enjoy a great dinner.
A little noisy, but the service and food was outstanding.
The salmon and lentils were simply delicious! I even tried the Brussel sprouts appetizer....really GOOD!
Wife was here previously, said we should go. Arrived early, went to bar, they called us before our reservation despite being near capacity, nice. Sat us at a two person table that was cramped. Waiter was minimally attentive, when asked how things were, barely waited for the answer. Food was warm, not hot, and too salty. Main course was over done. Drink was empty for a period of time before I had to ask for another. Overall, I was disappointed. Too many little things. I would reluctantly try again.
Great service and food
Fantastic, as always. Shrimp avocado special was great!
Had dinner before watching broadway show and to celebrate a birthday. Place was great, sevice is fast and food was awesome. Highly recommend it. Good for date, family dinner and get together. We'll definitely come back!
An excellet experience! Our server Zhanna & all the staff were there to assist....very courteous & pleasant (even the gentleman who seated us). We shared the frito miso, caesar salad, pappadelle and husband ordered cucciucco & I ordered filet - all prepared to perfection. We sat upstairs which has a nice view & they did hustle to get us to the theater on time! We'll definitely be returning!
It felt like a typical hotel restaurant. I was hoping for something more special for my husbands birthday. This place felt ordinary from the minute we sat down until we left. Service was good at the beginning but dwindled once we got our food. The food felt like food served at a convention. Lacked flavor. The buffala was great. For the price absolutely not worth it. Very disappointed in total experience. The light spot was the male host who seemed to be doing everything.
Oysters were the best we had in Chicago. Service was great. Salmon was very well prepared. We made the Opera on time.
Food was excellent and the service matched the food. They had a fantastic wine selection adn the desert was to die for.
My friends and I dined here after the theater evening. Our reservation and table was all good. Our waiter and servers did an excellent job. The food was delicious. The only downside was that it is awkward for anyone with a handicap to visit the restroom. My friend has a difficult time with stairs to visit the restroom on the second floor. The maitre de did escort her to elevator that was only key operated by a staff member. On her attempt to use the elevator to return to the first floor, no staff member assisted, though she waited over 5 minutes for someone to come back. She had difficulty descending the stairs. We found it surprising that there was not a first floor restroom that was handicap accessible. Hopefully with these remarks along with others the restaurant could make better accommodation for handicap individuals. Thank you
It was impossible to hear the server, my seat weight or a friend across the table. Our table of six could not wait to leave because of the noise level and poor service. We had a reservation and had to wait for a half our until we were seated. Then we had to wait another half hour to be waited on.
Ok, but Could’ve been better.
As always, one of our favorite pre-theater dining venues, within easy walking distance of the theater. It was quite busy, and we missed out on our favorite table, but were given one instead with a very nice view of the busy street outside. The appetizer choices were imaginative and quite tasty, a Brussel Sprout treatment for my wife and the Buffala Prosciutto and artichoke creation for me, followed by a salmon entree for her and agnello (lamb shank) over spinach and polenta, quite tender, that truly satisfied my hunger. The wine choices were perfect as well and service was prompt and caring. This was first class dining.
Always a great experience.......great food and staff....perfect for pre-Opera dining.
Was looking for a restaurant close to the Cadillac Palace Theater, and this was right next door. It was Saturday afternoon, so the menu was somewhat limited. That being said, the food was delicious and the wait staff very attentive.
Highly recommended, especially if it’s pre/post theater!
Stellar food just the type of atmosphere to kick off your theatre experience.
