312 Chicago is centrally located the Loop Theater and Financial District. Every room offers iconic city views including City Hall, the Thompson Center, the Board of Trade and the Cadillac Palace Theater. The ambiance evokes the comfort and sophistication of a 1930’s supper club, but the style is pure, modern elegance with rich walnut wood and dramatic chandeliers.

Overall the dinner was good. Service was not prompt at all. Dinner took quite a while to find the table. We were waiting to be asked for next drinks. Otherwise the meals were delicious and would try again to test the service.
The food was delicious! However, my pork chop was under cooked. The chef brought it out to me after it was fully cooked. It was delicious. Also, it was not too pricey.
Great service, great food, great ambiance. Great experience. Will return, for sure!
Light apps & wine right before Tootsie with my family, who came in from Louisiana to see the city. Great restaurant, great food!
Nice atmosphere and close to the Cadillac theatre were we were going to see a show.
Stopped at our favorite pre-theatre restaurant for lunch before seeing tootsie. Both experiences were great ! Sat at the bar and people watched while enjoying some wine & lunch. Overall a great experience and one that I will definitely do again.
$$ for lunch, but that's pretty much what all the restaurants compete with near the theatre area
Great food and service! Nice place before theatres.
312 is our favorite pre/post theater restaurant. The location is perfect, near all the theaters. We've had dinner there several times and the atmosphere, food and service are always excellent. The menu has something for everyone. I would particularly recommend the salmon...it's delicious!! The lasagna, chicken and children's pasta selections were also enjoyed by my family. It was a perfect place to celebrate my 70th birthday and my daughter-in-law's 29th birthday before our family saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
Always wonderful! Our go-to place for pre opera dining.
Great service and food. The only drawback is the restrooms are on the second floor.
Our overall experience was decent. Our waiter wasn’t very warm, didn’t check on us or bring ketchup etc once the meal was served. Food was very good.
Service was bad. Food was extremely bland. I had risotto and it was mushy and soup like
This was our 3rd visit to 312, all pre-theater meals. We like it because the service is very attentive, even if crowded. There is always a good variety of selections and we have never had a bad meal here. I had chicken breast with truffle and kale sauce and gnocchi. Very good, too many gnocchi for me but no take home because of going to theater. My partner loves calamari. They accommodated her request for calamari only, no other seafood, which she loved. They do need to add a seafood sauce like the tomato sauce with horseradish.
My wife and I ate at 312 Chicago prior to going to Tootsie the pre-broadway musical. We had a very enjoyable dinner and the staff was outstanding. 312 Chicago is one of our favorite resturants and we plan on going back very soon.
The food was very good and service was OK Maybe a little pricey but food was very good.
Great service !! Our waiter was excellent and told us we could stay there and relax before the play. Very good food. We'd return.
Great food, great service, great experience. Would recommend to friends.
Great quality food, friendly staff, and decently priced! Great for business trips
Salad stuff salmon was excellent!
Just an average Italian place. Our food was fine but nothing special. We were hoping that Chicago Italian would be special. The fried seafood appetizer was a little soggy and the crust chewy. The soup was totally average. Average is not bad, just not what we expected from the reviews.
312 Chicago is a "go-to" and never disappoints - it's all great, with exceptional service and attitude - always feel welcomed and always leave well-fed - GO!!!
Delicious Caesar salad with chicken!
everything was very good. Staff was very accommodating. right next to the Cadillac theatre.
Mediocre food but very convenient to theater. Would not eat there again but works in a pinch before a show
The pork chop was a little overcooked and the prosciutto was particularly chewy for some reason, but the espresso cheesecake was very good.
I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality & delicious meal we had before going to the theater. I selected 312 originally because of it's proximity to the play that we were attending, but now I will make sure that it's on my regular "night out" list! Great service as well... considerate of our time limitations.
After theater dinner. Great food. Not rushed. Service outstanding.
The potato chips were soggy. The service was good and we were taken good care of for lunch. We were treated so well. But the potato chips were soggy.
Roberto our waiter was extremely great!! All the restaurant's staff was wonderful!! The food was wonderful especially the sea bass dish!!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!
We had a great meal, with good conversation allowed by the quiet ambiance. Very attentive service but not hovering. The food was very tasty and adequate portions, not heaping. Not inexpensive but reasonable.
The location is great for a pre-theatre dinner. Wait staff even ask if diners are going to the theater to ensure people make curtain time. There is a pre fixe meal as well as the ala carte menu. The prices are typical for a downtown chicago restaurant but not excessive. My caesar salad was quite large and tasty as well as reasonably priced. My branzino was excellent - the preparation was tasty and unique. My only complaint is the noise level - very loud.
Great food, risotto was excellent, nice quiet upstairs
We were very pleasantly surprised to have a really good pre-theatre dinner.
Consistently very good food and service. Very convenient for pre-or post-theater dining if you’re attending at the Goodman or any of the large Loop Theaters . Prix-fixe menu is a real bargain.
Drove down from Madison, WI with my mom to see a show at the Cadillac Palace Theater. We thoroughly enjoyed brunch at 312 Chicago! My mom ordered the French Toast and it was amazing! I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich and it was equally as delicious. Highly recommend!
This is a regular stop when we have theater, especially at the Cadillac Palace, just around the corner. The service is excellent, and the choices always seem to offer varieties which are unique, well-prepared and very tasty. We are always asked if we are going to theater so that the timing of the meal fits perfectly within the schedule needed. There is also always a fixed price meal with multiple choices of appetizer, entrée and dessert at a most reasonable price. I found the linguini nero (squid ink seafood pasta) a great choice, and my wife praised her salmon as well. The wine choices were complete and well-priced too.
Service was outstanding and food was delicious. Location is right next to Goodman Theater.
Great service, food, drinks and ambiance. The two of us had Caesar Salad and the Scallops Special. Our friends had the Filet and the Sea Bass. Everyone enjoyed their meals, drinks and each other's company.
Went after a performance of "Tootsie." Some of the other diners were there for dinner before the late performance and also going to the Opera House.
